Hate the rapper dude all you want, but the member of parliament is wrong for responding like that. That isn’t the kind of politician you removed the BDP for.
If an ex-employee share their traumatic experience you either ignore or deny or seek proof or apologise and move on. You don’t rush to intimidate & gag them. Otherwise that is simply you re-affirming their experience about you. I will telly you this, I’ve hurt some 1/2..
First National Bank of Botswana partners with MOSA
It is important for institutions and or businesses alike to align to government priority areas for several reasons. One of which is to create a conducive working environment. In the same breath, it is important for organizations, private sector to collaborate with government to deliver equitable services, innovation and infrastructure, thereby forming strategic partnerships such as the one witnessed today the 27th of January 2025, between the Ministry of Sport & Art at the Ministry- Head Quarters.
In his welcome remarks, Minister Jacob Kelebeng expressed his excitement at the willingness by the private sector in acknowledging the role it plays in the development of various sectors within Botswana. Kelebeng said discussing issues of common interest should be celebrated because they aim to speak to subject matters that government has been grappling with over periods of time. Minister Kelebeng reiterated that First National Bank of Botswana (FNB) has demonstrated the need to uplift the communities that the bank exists in through the development of grassroots sports with particular reference to rehabilitate Maun Sporting Complex.
Hon Kelebeng thanked FNB team for their commitment towards sports and encouraged them to do more for the Art industry. He further acknowledged FNBB hand in leading the banking industry when it comes to supporting Thapong Visual Arts. Minister Kelebeng said government cannot do the needful alone hence the need for public private partnerships. Special reference was made to the upcoming Kazungula Marathon, the Premier League, Golden Grand Prix scheduled for April and the BOTESSA league.
Suffice to add that in order to develop grassroots sport its important to cultivate sporting codes from an early age. Granted, currently school sports need an astonishing 91 million pula is required, however government falls short in capacitating schools hence the need for the private sector. To cement the marriage between FNB and MOSA, the Hon Minister alluded that in future an MOU should be signed to seal the relationship and to find common areas of interest.
In conclusion, Minister Kelebeng encouraged private institutions to support the work of government as they are ready to partner with the private sector. He reiterated that, FNBB should be celebrated for their show of determination and unwavering support to Batswana.
Yoli, All Kazi, & Urban Soul never attached themselves to political parties to the point of putting party slogans next to their brands. They knew that a brand had to be politically neutral. They knew the price of being a political agent could be heavy if the tide was to change.
I still hold the view that Graduates entering government jobs in Botswana 🇧🇼 should start at the D4 salary scale. It’s time we align compensation with qualifications, cost of living, and the need to attract and retain top talent in public service.
