I’d go for a ThinkPad T14 Gen 3.
16GB RAM + 512GB SSD minimum for Data Science. It’ll handle Python, Jupyter, SQL, data analysis and ML much better than most entry-level coding laptops.
You won't be able to train ML models with it locally though
