People keep saying Black Americans were the biggest winners from affirmative action.
The numbers say the opposite.
Here's what the actual records show 🧵

There's this faux elitism that comes with most Nigerian tech bros that I never wanted to be part of; not then, not now .
Those subtle competition -- everyone setting mic to give their next big announcement about the new job or gig they just had, or snapping their offices and doing those weird "day in the life" videos to show they've arrived.
Or speaking/writing in a certain way to show "exposure" and high earnings. Never been my style.
My style has always been authentic brashness. Speaking pidgin shouldn't make you forget how to write a function. Clearing someone's doubt once once is part of the spice of life.
Please this isn't 2021. This 'tushness' of wearing glasses and looking prim and proper while snapping your Macbook, as your country goes to ruins isn't what I subscribe to.
Boda @segun_os_, there's no department on X called "tech twitter" and I'm not looking to be in your clique. Earn your cool salary, work on your cool PC and focus on your life.
Life no hard my guy. Best wishes. ❤️🙏

Last week we had a barrage of Pastors talking down on VDM because he “challenged the body of Christ”
Then 20 students were kidnapped and mum’s the word.
The Christians, their leaders, “NOTHING”
You care about the “Body of Christ” more than the actual body of your fellow citizens.
I guess when Jesus said “whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me”
I guess he was just rapping.
I need you to understand how grossly wicked a person is, if they have experienced life abroad in any capacity (lived abroad, are living abroad or have visited abroad) and still support a terrible government back home.
They are the very spawn of Satan. You can't be enjoying good governance and dont want same for others.
Pentecostal churches destroyed the moral fabric of our society, they don't care if the entire country is bvrning as long as them and their family members are alright.
Pentecostal churches destroyed the spirit of community in Nigeria, but we are not ready for that conversation yet.
People used to share food and drinks with each other during festive periods without the fear of any household enemies or evil neighbours.
Religion is the best tool to get into the head of Nigerians, give them bad governance but pretend to love Jesus while at it and you'll get their support.
I'm convinced that the collective national hate and fake trauma that people in their 50s and above exhibit toward Abacha — apart from being a product of propaganda and social engineering — has been most useful as a shield and a badge of honour against accountability and the absolute ignominy of having watched the country go to hell while they did nothing.
It's a defensive projection and a psychological coping mechanism to mask their failure.
They see themselves as the eternal victims of the "worst regime in the world" — and damn you, if you try to change their perspective with facts or logic
They want to use the supposed horror of "surviving Abacha's regime" and the "Abacha Stove" as a badge of honour to demand respect and make themselves into some kind of heroes.
Young people, this might be us tomorrow, if we do nothing to take back our country today.
30 years from now, we too will have some stupid take on national issues, having handed over a worse Nigeria than we met it to our children.
South Korea is investing almost $900bn to rival China and the US as an AI superpower.
To ensure enough home-grown talent, primary school children are taught robotics and how to code.
Al Jazeera’s Jack Barton reports.
Pastor: No matter how expensive fuel gets God will always provide for you and your family to be able to afford it, just like He provided for the Israelites in the wilderness.
Members: Ameeeennn!
so now no matter how expensive fuels gets you wouldn't see any problems with that because your own na to just dey hope on God to be able to afford it.
YOUR PASTORS ARE PART OF OUR PROBLEM!
Kudirat Abiola was literally driving to an Official appointment at the Canadian High Commission the morning she was Assassinated, she was actively leaking critical national information to the US and helping them build their economic sanction profile against Abacha’s government
But what did it in for me was when I read that she single handedly shutdown the Oil Economy by bankrolling and sustaining the 12 month oil workers strike, Crippling the entire Nation’s Source of revenue I instantly knew this shit was all made up
I genuinely apologize for the delay in the report because apparently the scope of our investigation is starting to cut across Ghana too where they practically used the Accra Embassy as an Espionage Hub and were caught Red handed trying to assassinate JJ Rawlings and destabilize Ghana just a few years before they destabilized and regime changed Abacha
I will never forgive Pentecostal boomers for demonizing this festival.
The rhetoric was that this festival caused a boom of witchcraft in Nigeria because they brought art (sculpted works) from all over the world.
The arts were demonic.
I was told this in 1999. Imagine that.
A Chinese man believes security, healthcare, electricity, good roads, and quality education should naturally be provided to him by his government because it is his right.
A Nigerian believes it is God who provides all that, and when he doesn't have it, it's the devil's fault so he has to fight the devil. 😭😂
If I were a white man and I knew you had that kind of mentality, I would never see you as my equal.
I think many people who have never left their Nigerian hinterland before need to visit Elmina Castle someday and take note of where the church is located - directly above the slave dungeon. Praying to the lord on the top floor, while Africans physically rotted to death in filth undreneath. Whenever one of the Africans died, the oyibos would leave their chapel, go into the dungeon, remove them corpse and toss it into the sea.
Then go back to praying to white Jesus for a successful upcoming auction of African human cargo.
Maybe after doing the tour, it will provide some perspective and help them think about the implication of whether the descendants of the people who built Elmina castle have somehow grown to care about your miserable African life because you are a "Christian". The Africans they spent centuries raping in industrial numbers, using their skin as leather, hanging from trees, using their hair as sofa stuffing, and sometimes even eating outright, were "Christians" too.
Being a Christian never stopped an oyibo man from being about his money and power first and foremost. Unfortunately, it sometimes feels like the wrong people were loaded onto the slave ships. They left all the dummies and weaklings behind. Still too soft in the head to grasp something that oyibo's actions have spent the past 500 years trying to teach them.
I'll describe this in one word: Consumerism.
It affects many Nigerians. They buy things they may not necessarily need in excess, and equate material possessions with success and social status.
Two days in Uyo and nobody begged me for money.
This isn’t a real place. I bought banana at Ibom plaza, the woman waited for me to finishing eating it, just so I won’t litter the place.
Imagine my shock when I went to the Stadium toilet and it was sparkling 😭😭 my god. I was in disbelief!
The air is different, I didn’t see any agbero. Uyo is a sane City. So fucking serene. I recommend.
One would think exposure would make people more humane, especially to their own kith and kin, but then, it will always be your own people.
I have never seen such a terrible job advert, even from companies that have a reputation for being toxic.
The fact that people move to a highly functional, working society like the UK and still rush after these religious leaders proves one thing: indoctrination runs deeper than geography… It is one of the most powerful tools ever created... You can leave the environment that conditioned you, but without intentional unlearning, you will carry those exact same mental dependencies wherever you go… What a pity!
When we speak against religion we don’t do it out of hatred for Christians or their God. We do it because of the type of ideologies being passed down and how it affects the mind and society at large. Imagine being told that your calling on earth is to be an unproductive idiot.
