You are not your thoughts. You are the observer of your thoughts. Most people don't know this. They believe every thought that passes through their brain. They identify with the noise. The first step of transformation is learning to watch your thoughts without becoming them.
Just becoming aware of thoughts and feelings as they arise allows new possibilities in life.
We are pushed and pulled by the tiniest, momentary feelings of comfort and discomfort. Or the playing out of inner narratives that we have never examined.
Slow down and take notice.
No thought is yours and that's why you can let go of its influence on you.
Observe carefully - every thought leaves an impression.
When you realise they are a part of social conditioning and past mind activity - you can easily be without carrying their effect.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
~ Carl Jung
This Carl Jung quote that helped me go deeper into awareness and come out of psychological suffering.
How? I've explained below -

Don't produce anything for or against the thoughts that arise in the mind.
Use the tool of "non-reaction" when the mind overwhelms or overthinks.
Don't expect anything to change.
Let everything be.
Whatever you react to, you carry forward its mark on you, that's karma.
As you become present, and choose to be non reactive to anything and everything, that's freedom.
Thoughts are not yours.
They seem real when we believe in the words of society.
For truth-seekers, thoughts have no place.
Be aware of thoughts appearing in your awareness right now and watch them fade away.
True knowing occurs when all conclusions and projections drop and dissolve.
In the state of not-knowing, you know it all.
How do you transcend the mind?
By recognising it's here, watching its activity and not commenting on it.
As you recognise there's a voice in the head that never stops speaking, keeps judging the present through the eyes of the past, you begin to see you are not the mental commentary.
That is, you are not the mind.
Watching "the voice" with full awareness is the key.
Be vigilant and practice this until awareness is seen as your nature.
