Update: I'm finally back home and have been discharged. Since the issue has now been resolved, I'll be deleting the original tweet.

Here's what happened:

Initially, on an estimated bill of ₹3.77 lakh, Star Health approved only ₹1.67 lakh. Later, when my final hospital bill came to ₹3.55 lakh, they again approved only ₹2.90 lakh, leaving many essential surgery related expenses unpaid.

After I raised the issue on social media, my claim was reviewed again, and the remaining amount was approved.
I'm grateful that the issue was resolved, but it was also extremely stressful.

It makes me wonder what would have happened if I didn't have the reach of social media. Would I have ever received the full claim?

A huge thank you to everyone who supported, shared the post, and helped amplify my voice. I'm also sincerely thankful to the entire team at @ManipalHealth and all the doctors, nurses, and staff who took care of me 24×7 throughout my treatment.

My only request to @StarHealthIns if a claim is genuinely payable, please approve it during the normal process. Customers shouldn't have to take their grievances to social media to receive what they're entitled to.

My recovery isn't over yet. I still have follow up visits for stitch removal and physiotherapy. I'll continue sharing my experience and a complete review of the entire claim process once my recovery is complete.

🔸Prompt Action by Dahisar Police: Man Rescued from Drain, Reunited with Family

​Upon receiving information from the Control Room about a man who had entered a drain and sustained injuries, a team from @DahisarPS immediately rushed to the spot. The individual was found trapped near a fast-flowing section of the drain. Displaying a swift response and presence of mind, the team cut through an iron mesh and safely rescued him.
​He was provided with immediate medical attention, after which his relatives were traced and he was safely reunited with his family.

​एक ��सम नाल्यात उतरून स्वतःला दुखापत करून घेत असल्याची माहिती नियंत्रण कक्षाकडून प्राप्त झाली. सदर माहिती मिळताच @DahisarPS चे पथक तात्काळ घटनास्थळी पोहोचले. तो इसम नाल्याच्या वेगवान प्रवाहाजवळ अडकल्याचे निदर्शनास येताच, पथकाने लोखंडी जाळी कापून त्याला सुरक्षितपणे बाहेर काढले. त्यानंतर त्याच्या जखमांवर प्रथमोपचार करून व त्याच्या नातेवाईकांचा शोध घेऊन त्याला सुखरूप कुटुंबियांच्या स्वाधीन करण्यात आले.

Roads in Tilaknagar have undergone partial concretisation. Atleast 3 different stretches have concrete one one side of the road while the rest of the road is muddy. If the @mybmc wasn't sure of completing this road before monsoon, it should have been left as is. Vehicles are plying with great difficulty here as my colleague Yatin Salvi has shown.
