@Cebi17 Retail Andys saying "but Classic Andys" are strawmanning. I barely hear any classic players whining at WoWF. The purists for the most part are staying in classic or private servers.
Most of the whining is from Retail Andys and are conflating call outs for their BS as equivalent
@DesoloGG@soulsobreezy You want to ignore also the counterweight to your arguments? Twice as much tagging, twice as much firepower, plus group experience bonus depending on the party size?
It's like y'all hate actually playing the game lol.
@crw2020_c@eldissian Tbh just like high elves and ogres housing was a planned/desired feature of the devs. It was even mentioned as a planned feature months before the initial release in 2024. I'd be fine with it if they implemented it thoughtfully
Future content in World of Warcraft Forever shouldnโt rely on raw numerical power creep. Instead, new gear should introduce interesting mechanics that change how players approach the game. That kind of horizontal progression becomes a catalyst for emergent gameplay.
As I predicted in my last video World of Warcraft: Forever DOES HAVE VERTICAL POWER UPGRADES!
They will be significantly less than what weโre used to but the reality is that creating compelling horizontal gear is very difficult.
Told ya so.
@Marcodmeatball It's something I've been wanting for years, you make it sound like horizontal progression exists in other RPGs. Got any recommendations?
@Meehowbtc@CultistZolon It's because mmorpg players, especially wow players, in the last 15-20 years have been trained the race to endgame was the most important. Historically you'd hear "the game doesn't start until endgame," that's when it started going wrong.
@SpuddRobinson@MoiDawg I was in beta as well, also played EverQuest pre SoL. Adding features that turn the world into a loading screen removes potential for player/social interaction an the journey itself. Both are stated tenets for WoWF. The 2nd M in MMORPG stand for Multiplayer.
@NotFabTV When one of the tenets set by the developers is "the journey, not the destination," and you want to suggest a mechanic that skips the journey, I think we know who's being silly here.
@yo_jaydee Retail players were not asking for this to exist. You want to take away what the people who were asking for it actually wanted just so you can be bored in a week and go back to retail.
You call this gatekeeping, but its simply an effort to save a game from turning into another.
@GVMERGG@covingtown The whole concept is lost on you. Your main argument for this omits all other positive outcomes by focusing on one that is STILL more socially engaging than shared tagging and lack of social interaction it allows for, lol.
