I’ll simplify it
If city didn’t falsify their revenues, they would be able to spend on transfers and wages
If they couldn’t spend on fees and wages they wouldn’t be able to buy big players
If they couldn’t buy big players no Robinho, no Aguero, no KDB, no Silva, no Rodri, no Haaland
If they didn’t have those players they wouldn’t be able to attract top managers like Mancini, Pep
If they didn’t attract those managers they wouldn’t have won any titles or trophies
This tweet accidentally explains one of the deepest problems with Nigerian education.
We have confused early literacy with early intelligence.
A 5 year old kid reading and writing before everyone isn’t impressive. Childhood development is not a race to finish the ABC. Those early years should be about building curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, communication and independent thinking.
Let them build things. Draw nonsense. Play games. Solve puzzles. Ask annoying questions. Learn to disagree and explain why.
Then reading, writing and maths become tools for a mind that has already started learning how to THINK.
And Twitter is probably the funniest evidence of what happens when we get this backwards 😂
Every day you meet people here who can read and write beautifully. Big grammar sef.
But comprehension? Omo.
You write A. They read B. They argue passionately against C. Then 4,000 people retweet aggressively 😭
That is the tragedy.
Literacy is not the same thing as education. Being able to read is useless if you were never taught how to think.
Raphinha was a RW his whole career at Rennes, Sporting & Leeds and done well there which is why he earned a move to Barça after his stellar performances with Leeds.
Barça randomly spawned the best right winger in the world & Nico Williams decided to ruin his career and sign a 10 year contract at Bilbao so Raphinha gets converted to a LW for the 24/25 and drops 56 G/A in 57 club appearances & was undoubtedly the best LW in the world.
25/26 he was injured a lot, but still got 21 goals and 7 assists in 2200 minutes which is insane from LW.
This season! Barça lost Lewandowski and Ferran Torres whilst also missing out on Jullian Alvarez so had no choice, but to play Raphinha as a 9 & he’s producing some of the most insane numbers you’ll every see every 3 days.
What an incredible footballer he should be an example for any aspiring pro.

What scares me the most about Man United is knowing we have a sympathetic coach.
Look at Arteta and how he has been ruthless to players who does not give him what he wants in his team. Look at how he has moved Martinelli on.
Look at pep how he dealt with Jack Grelish, Bravo, Foden, Joe Heart etc. Look a Klopp at Liverpool, he moved everyone on.
Manchester United is run like Rehabilitation center for players who are not fit to play. When will this shit will come to an end.
Does carrick know what his team want? can he move players on? I doubt he cannot, He is too emotional and football does not need that,
See the nonsense they are doing with Rashford. Aston Villa moved him on, Barcelona moved him on, Manchester United is giving him first team football.
When will this shit come to an end. Is management Afraid of players or what?
I’m anti-boarding school like maddd! If you check my page, you’ll see that I’m very vocal about my stance. DO NOT send your children to boarding school! The downside is wayyy more than the upside.
All those talks about “boarding school shaped me,” yada yada, is just copium. Anyone who attended one, especially from JSS1–SS3, needs to see a therapist.
* I eat too fast. I literally have to tell myself to calm down, that nobody is counting for me anymore.
* I do not know how to miss people. Not friends. Not family. Not people I care about. It is not as though I don’t love them; I have just lost the ability to miss people. Out of sight = out of mind.
* Do you know that a decade later, I still dream about boarding school every other week? I’m sure a lot of people who attended one can relate as well.
* In boarding school, you are bullied so much that, at some point, it starts feeling like your new normal. And the reason that pattern is never broken is because the SS1 students you bullied in SS3 are desperately waiting for their own turn when they get to SS3, so they can finally do the same thing to the new set of SS1 students. A vicious cycle.
I’m not here to invalidate anyone’s experience. Some of you may argue that the best six years of your life were the ones you spent in boarding school. Those of you who share this sentiment are the minority.
No child should spend the formative years of their life in a boarding school. If I co-exist with someone who attended one for just one hour, I can already tell because of the similar habits, often bad ones, that we share. You end up always on edge. It is bad.
Imagine waking up every day of your life as a teenager by 5:30am, knowing fully well that no matter how well-behaved you are, there is always some punishment or strokes of the cane, belt, hanger, chain, cutlass, or slaps lurking around for you.
You are either sitting on your head, hanging on the wall, frog-jumping, rolling in the mud, crawling long distances on gravel, giving up your meals and provisions to your seniors, as a TEENAGER.
Imagine someone giving you N100 to go to the tuck shop, buy something worth N500, and still be asked to return N200 change?
Imagine having to hide to eat your own provisions, hiding your cutlery, belt, sandals, perfumes, e.t.c., simply because someone can just tell you to hand them over and there’s nothing you can do about it? Yeah, that is how bad it is.
I’ll continue preaching this for those who care to listen: do not send your children to boarding school. I went to one; now they don’t have to go through the same thing.
Are there upsides? Of course. But when the downside of something outweighs the upside, it is no longer healthy.
If you don’t want to raise children who will end up as adults with teenage trauma, do not send them to boarding schools. I hope you take this seriously.
If you’re JJ Gabriel & you spend preseason watching the Fletcher pair get picked ahead of you, you’d also want to pack your bags&leave. I hope we tie him down to a contract soon.
We have a meritocracy problem at United. Many many examples we can think of.
“Carrick is a good manager, the team just needs a few more good signings.”
Do you mfs ever stop and think?
This is basically the SAME team Amorim had, minus Santos, Tielemans and Baleba.
When it was Amorim, you called this squad good and blamed everything on the manager.
Now more signings have been made, nobody important left, and suddenly the squad is “poor” while Carrick is the good manager?
I hate this level of selective thinking.
You deliberately refuse to apply the same standards.
Carrick has a 25% win rate after playing two newly promoted sides, a relegation-bound Everton and a 10-man Man City.
That is embarrassing.
And losing twice against 10 men is another level of incompetence. The first time can happen. But losing to 10 men again less than six months later tells me you learned absolutely NOTHING.
No adaptation. No lessons. No improvement.
Just excuses.
“Ole 2.0” is already loading, and if this continues, Carrick will be gone before January.
And when it happens, I’ll remind you exactly what I said.
You cannot spend months telling us the manager is the problem, then suddenly pretend the squad is rubbish the moment your preferred manager starts failing.
Pick a standard and stick to it.
This shit is ridiculously embarrassing.😳
When we said that Carrick’s “success” was built on Amorim’s fundamentals, people assumed you were just being negative and taking credit away from Carrick.
But the truth is, Amorim left very good fundamentals and culture, and Carrick came in and optimized for short-term results ON TOP of that foundation.
Starting the season and imposing your own football will always be harder. Up to Carrick now to prove he won’t mess up the laid foundations and progress.
Bringing back Rashford to me was a big sign that all of Amorim’s work will be for nothing.
“It was men against boys…”
I won’t complain on PGMOL, it has been like this for years and everyone is clearly fine with it.
🔺But this was a game between men and boys. City’s back 4 was spotless, Enzo and Anderson were strong in the midfield. Haaland is hard to deal with.
🔺Dorgu and Dalot had a very weak game. Let me ask this — which shows you a lot about the standards this team has — is anyone surprised? If someone came to us in July 2026 and said that United will play City at home, Dalot and Dorgu will be the fullbacks and both will have quite awful games. Would we be surprised?
Our back 4 couldn’t play man-man and press City high even when we were 11 against 10. Maguire’s-Martinez wasn’t good.
Should we hang Dorgu? Many will, but I think that it’s so so stupid. He was signed as a wing-back. Carrick has never trusted him at fullback. I think that it’s absurd that our owners decided to save [sic?] a couple of millions on postponing the signing of a left back with 12 months.
But it was not only Dorgu and Dalot. I thought Rashford had a below average game. Why? Almost all his dribbling attempts and crosses resulted in lost possession. Bruno was Bruno, he is not a problem overall. But he can be problematic. 100%.
🔺City is not even that good right now, but they have a squad fit for purpose. United don’t. Dorgu and Dalot should not start this game.
🔺The PL is an extremely competitive league right now, you must be very very strong to — not — derail.
But when anything goes against United — we completely lose our heads. It’s maybe not so strange — the core of the squad has been around forever and never lived up to expectations. It is just a fact that managers like Ragnick and Mourinho thought it was time to make big changes 5+ years ago. And they haven’t been made.
On top of this — it looks like we are trying to do everything we can to pass this mentality onto the next generation.
🔺According to Omar Berrada — United enter every competition to win it. We are just 4 games into this season, and trust me, I hope I am wrong and that we will turn it around. I am actually quite happy as long as we get top 5.
But I can only call it like I see it — it comes across as delusional.
What Ineos calls “challenging for a title” — actually seems to be to give a manager a squad without major holes on it. Like have a squad with players that somewhat are fit for purpose at all positions.
In the real world — Aston Villa would never enter a season without that. While United under Ineos might get there after 3 years.
And allow me to doubt the notion that we will get there next season. If we don’t qualify for the CL, we have to cut costs next summer.
🔺For me it’s quite simple — if we somehow can squeeze into the CL next season again, we might at least move forward.
But if not — Ineos must go. It just can’t be accepted.
