I’m always dismayed by constant rumors about me and people who claim I am doing things, yet have not spoken to me about anything I am doing or not doing. If you have not heard it straight from me, then it is likely not true.
If I was running for governor the entire world would know it because I would be all over the state of Georgia campaigning, I would have ads running, I would be raising scary amounts of money, and I would literally clear the field.
Just to remind everyone, the first time I ran, as a complete political outsider in 2020, I ran against 8 well respected men and beat them all, easily finishing off the last man by double points in a run off.
I did that and won the primary and runoff without the coveted Trump endorsement.
I am humbled and grateful by the massive statewide support that I have to run for Governor, and if I wanted to run we all know I would win. It’s not even debatable. And only because of that massive statewide support is why I ever considered it in the first place.
You see, unlike most, I’m not about chasing titles or grasping for more power despite what people, who don’t know me, think about me.
If I am going to do something, I do it, and I am all in.
And it is for the right reasons.
However, I have a different perspective of the entire 2026 campaign cycle ahead and the fragile state of Republican control in Georgia. My perspective is rooted in my relationships with real people and Georgia businesses, issues I know are important that are being ignored, and has nothing to do with the 30,000 foot view and stupid polls from the out of state consultants that get rich every cylcle whether we win or lose.
Georgia is long controlled by the good ‘ole boy system and that very established “Men Only” Republican firm is unfortunately over seeing the slow slide from red to blue.
The “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” wheeling and dealing at the hunting clubs and country clubs does not reflect the sentiment and issues of the vast majority of Georgia voters.
As a matter of fact that good ‘ole boy system is where many of our state’s good hearted donors are misled cycle after cycle to support candidates who offer lukewarm platforms that never address the real issues plaguing our state.
As a woman, none of this appeals to me. As a mother, none of this appeals to me. As a lifelong Georgian and business owner none of this appeals to me.
And believe me, if none of it appeals to me, there is a lot of women who agree with me.
The state of affairs in Georgia concern me and I will leave it at that.
But just know this.
If I were running for Governor, I would have a platform and a detailed plan, much different than the others, that would save our sweet home state of Georgia, our precious hardworking businesses, and give our much loved children a bright future.
That would be for every Georgian, not just Republicans.
And one day, I might just run without the blessing from the good ‘ole boys club or the out of state consulting leaches or even without the blessing of my favorite President.
One day, I might just run purely out of the blessing of the wonderful people of Georgia, my family and friends, but it won’t be in 2026.
In the meantime, you’ll find me in the beautiful hills of Northwest Georgia and fighting with all my might in the House of Representatives for the people who elected me.
Notwithstanding significant progress over the last few days, I voted NO on H.R. 10545, the 3rd version of the government funding “CR.”
While it was a marked improvement on the 1,547 page “cramnibus” that was released earlier this week, it still included $110 billion in supplemental funding with no offsets or pay-fors, which I cannot support.
It is notable that our much derided efforts this week as “fiscal hawks” resulted in two important things: 1) avoiding $5 trillion being added to our existing $36 trillion national debt with zero spending cuts or structural reforms; but 2) delivering for President Trump a path to stop Chuck Schumer from abusing the debt ceiling to roil financial markets through a framework for substantial and necessary spending cuts.
Merry Christmas.
Permanent daylight saving time is what America wants, which is why I’m proud to cosponsor @SenMarcoRubio’s Sunshine Protection Act. With President Trump back in the White House things are looking brighter—his support for ending this costly time change is certainly one reason why.
The clearly circulated talking points from libs about the Dow being down 9 straight days, not since the last almost as awful dem president (Carter far > Biden = both awful), is such nonsense.
We’ll see what happens when the fed announces their rate cut tomorrow morning.
So Tom Homan now says that the deportations will only be targeted towards criminal aliens? LMAO!
Meet the new and improved Trump administration, same as the first one.
On the campaign: We will authorize mass deportations!
Once elected: Actually we will only be deporting criminals AND we want unlimited LEGAL immigration AND we have to help the Dreamers aka DACA recipients. OH, and BTW let's stop focusing on the Transgenders in women bathroom stuff. MAGA!
LMAOOOOOO! Who could have seen this coming?
Finally a word that describes Libs this week.
“My Goddess lost her election. I will console myself with head shaving and milk and cookies while in recovery from my mubble-fubbles.”
And private companies and citizens will make money how under this scenario? And, under what powers does a governor “withhold” goods?
😆 people are so friggin dumb.
They’re mad about DeSantis voters but not Haley voters for a simple reason: They have disagreements with Haley’s policy disagreements, but insecurities about DeSantis’s effectiveness and focus.
If President Trump does the things he promised to do, we will be THRILLED.
A coworker is able to blow off work and all responsibilities for 2 full days without much of a word, abandon promises to help work on things just a day earlier—today a total no show because “we’re going to give people grace” assuming their candidate lost.
I would be fired.
On the "OMG how did Biden get 80mil votes? It was stolen" nonsense -- guys, we know who all voted. The list of voters who vote is public. None of the "stop the steal" crowd ever wants to deal with the actual names. They just use the number to three card monte their argument
