This is not a made-up story. This is my life.
Sometime in 2010, my father was poisoned.
It got so bad that he already knew it was over. He didn’t want to die in our presence, so he left the house and started walking towards Aro Ogwe Road (Omogho people know this road).
On that road, God used a man — my mother’s uncle, Nze Obiakor Macilinus (of blessed memory) — to give my father a second chance at life.
He saw my dad struggling within minutes. Without wasting time, he picked this particular weed and asked my father to chew it. Immediately my father chewed it, he vomited the poison — along with heavy lumps of blood.
That same day, my father returned home alive.
The first thing he did was take me to the exact spot where he vomited the poison. He showed me the weed and told me clearly:
“This is what God used to save my life. Always respect it. Always remember it.”
Till today, anywhere I see this weed, I wash it and chew it.
Not because it’s magic — but because it reminds me that my father was given a second chance to live.
I have never told anyone this story before.
I’m sharing it today with gratitude.
To my late uncle — God bless you.
Your good deed did not die with you.
