You think it's an endpoint problem. It's not.
Philip Japikse explains exactly why that happens and it's not what most devs expect. Full clip from his API Versioning session at VSLive! Las Vegas.

CLAUDEmd is the single most impactful file you can add to your .NET project.
Most developers using Claude Code just open a terminal and start prompting. That works... until Claude suggests a repository pattern you banned 6 months ago. Or uses Swagger instead of Scalar. Or puts business logic in the API layer.
The fix? A CLAUDEmd file at the root of your solution.
Here's what I include in mine for every .NET 10 project:
→ Tech Stack: .NET 10, EF Core 10, Minimal APIs, PostgreSQL, Scalar
→ Project Structure: Which folder does what (Api, Application, Domain, Infrastructure)
→ Architecture Rules: Domain has ZERO external dependencies. No repository pattern. Use Mediator for commands/queries.
→ Code Conventions: Naming patterns, what patterns we use (primary constructors), what patterns we DON'T use
→ Commands: How to build, test, run
The result? Claude Code stops guessing and starts following YOUR architecture.
It respects your naming conventions. It puts code in the right folders. It doesn't suggest patterns you've explicitly banned.
Think of CLAUDEmd as onboarding documentation — except your AI pair programmer actually reads it. Every. Single. Time.
My take: if you're using Claude Code without a CLAUDEmd, you're doing 2x the work correcting bad suggestions instead of shipping features.
Save this template. Adapt it for your project. Trust me, the 10 minutes you spend writing it will save you hours.
