After Primakov introduced me to Putin, he sat with for lengthy conversations. I wrote for Unherd my impressions of his thinking.

SW engineering is about combining known patterns in _novel_ ways to reduce complexity. Software *will* get complex in time, by definition of the iterative/incremental approach to building software.
The crux is on the _novel_ part: agents cannot come up on their own with what they were never trained on.
But there is nothing wrong with guiding agents to apply what they already know in novel ways for you.
If you're reading a book, stop lying to yourself saying you'll remember it later.
Grab a pen and write it down instead.
"Taking notes, however cursory, turns out to be the best way to remember and implement information later." -Dr. Huberman
@mjbommar@jetbrains I link to some jediterm issues in this post. Not calling them out explicitly, basically every terminal-as-a-second-thought system has these bugs. I'm exactly hoping something like this can be used by them. If Jetbrains reads this, please email me. I'd love to make it happen.
tried to handle this in private but we stopped getting responses
charm is the company that tried to acquire opencode originally - the lead dev wanted to do it and me and adam did not
spoke with their CEO and he agreed that i owned the opencode name given the price i paid to acquire the domain and public association
didn't want some drawn out battle so compromise was they take the repo and i'd keep the name
it's been a month and we started fresh and built a brand new product...and they continue to use the name to confuse people
they also
- rewrote github history to unlink my commits
- registered new packages with a similar name to cause confusion
- banned adam from the original repo
- merged retracted PRs against authors' will
- deleted github comments asking for clarity
so a large % of people seeing us talk about opencode are landing in the wrong place
it's pretty embarrassing to try and hijack someone else's distribution
confirms my apprehension about their involvement in the first place
