@zenbukiminosei@zenkimi_megumi@zenkimi_muku@zenkimi_hikari Hey I know where that is, it's at the east harbor, there's a really good Gyros place there! My mom used to work closeby (and I lived near there too)
Enjoy your stay, there's the famous zoo nearby also!
Next attempt: AJA KONA LHe PCIe card with external breakout box - working very well and the composite video quality is *exceptionally* good!
The only problem is that it only offers two RCA output jacks, to get more channels I would require some balanced to RCA conversions...
Attempting some S-Video output via Pinnacle Studio DV/AV PCI...
It doesn't work very well.
Videos get re-encoded before outputting and there is a bit of a flicker.
Studio versions above 9 do not require a re-encode, but fail to output PAL video on this card for some reason :(

@jeffqchen No, it's a software bug, PS9 outputs PAL just fine as you can see, but it requires a re-encode which on longer videos takes ages (not to mention the degradation in quality)
@dpattenjr Same here, unfortunately this one still has some other problems to diagnose and to top it off it's an OEM board with a limited and shitty bios...
It would then get raw frames (or fields in interlaced mode) from decoded or converted media, ideally a native PAL MPEG2 stream or similar, and output them 1:1 in real time.
USB3 should have enough bandwidth for this.
Thinking about ADV7391 as the analog encoder.
I have a new idea for a FPGA project... Since there's a lot of solutions for getting video OUT of a VHS machine, I thought why not do something to get video INTO it.
A FPGA + FTDI based USB clocked frame buffer, maybe with an audio DAC even.
With S-Video and composite outputs..
Oh yeah, and compared to the Nvidia diagnostics (MATS), the ATI ones are pretty unhelpful when it comes to information and verbosity (possibly because I have no clue how to use them, but that's details 🤭
BGA reworks proved futile, one RAM is dead for sure, just need to figure out which one... The order is not as well documented as with NVidia cards sadly
