Weather models are hinting at a period of much warmer than usual temperatures starting around February 13th through February 19th. While temperatures appear to generally stay around the upper 40s, models are indicating the possibility for a day or two to go as high as the 60s.
If we do indeed see a warmer day in the upper 50s to low 60s, I cannot rule out the possibility of thunderstorms.
With this being a good distance out, there is some uncertainty and plenty of time for things to change. A couple isolated models are showing outlier scenarios where temperatures don’t go above the low 40s, however, this colder scenario is an outlier at this time.
I will provide updates as needed and as confidence increases. This is just something to monitor and keep an eye on.

An extreme cold watch has been issued from 12:00 AM Friday through 12:00 PM Saturday. High temperatures of -5°F to -10°F are expected, with wind chills as low as -40°F.
Impacts include frostbite risk in less than 10 minutes of outdoor exposure, vehicles parked outside failing to start, widespread frozen pipes, numerous water main breaks, and heavy strain on furnaces along with high electricity consumption which may lead to a risk of localized power outages.
