We are so happy to finally see the outcomes of this participatory study, led in Santali by @prasantahembram, and in Ho by @birua123, who are both content creators themselves. Santali and Ho versions of this article coming soon.
A 2022 study conducted in Ho and Santali, Indigenous languages from India, found that 70.4 percent of creators use their smartphones to create and upload content, though monetizing remains a major challenge. @subhapa#Bangladesh

For an internet user in Nepal who speaks kusunda, or a santali speaker browsing through @Wikipedia, what does the internet look like? 🤔
In this week’s #WhoseVoices, we discuss meaningful access to the internet in South Asia & beyond w/ @subhapa 🌏

We support @internetarchive that keeps afloat community media archives we co-create. Artists, activists and researchers with lesser resources would have even lesser access without controlled digital lending. Copyright is not for corporates. https://t.co/L1kPuXVjCc
