@ShoooTsw Yes, over 50 years plus oral on many occasions recent years. Extreme tiredness, dizzy, generally feeling awful, fatal if left unchecked, hence I’m now on oral hydrocortisone forever. Without them I’m in big trouble. I don’t produce cortisol in my body, so the drug does it!
@ShoooTsw So now I’m dependent on oral steroids. Working together we are trying to leave off the topicals, I’ve done some light treatment which seems to work ok, but it looks like we may go immune suppressant route. I see him a few weeks.
@ShoooTsw Fell out with a dermatologist over steroid use, 15 years ago. Told him these companies are like drug dealers making billions. Never seen him again!
The new one I have is fine but although he understands the problem finds them useful occasionally.I ended up adrenal deficiency.
@ShoooTsw@pulsetoday Totally agree, steroids, particularly topical have a lot to answer for, been going on since the 60’s , dished out by GP’s and guess who was involved with marketing, no less that the Sacklers, say no more. Luckily there are now alternative non steroid treatments!
@pulsetoday Topical steroids are dangerous, and no, doctors still over prescribe, topicals have a lot to answer for, not forgetting the Sacklers who promoted their use in hock with Glaxo, and GP’s. Many are now suffering with adrenal insufficiency due to the drugs over use and it’s going up
@implausibleblog There’s always been riots, it’s nothing new, in the the last century , 1980 for ex, late seventies, it’s endless. Of course some of these previous riots were justifiable, this one is not! Sign of the times!
