Today I celebrate my Boss as he is named Telegraph Newspaper’s Governor of the Year 2025 (Education). @m_akpakomiza
In just one year, Edo State has witnessed visible and measurable progress in the education sector. The employment of 5,000 teachers has strengthened our classrooms. The renovation of 63 schools across the state has improved learning environments. Subventions to Ambrose Alli University have risen from ₦41 million to ₦500 million, while Edo State University, Iyamho moved from ₦25 million to ₦250 million. These are decisive interventions that show seriousness of purpose.
Education is not just schooling. It is capacity. It is opportunity. It is security for the future. This is why Sustainable Development Goal 4 speaks directly to quality education as the foundation for sustainable growth.
This award confirms that within one year, clear direction and political will have translated into results. Edo State is moving forward, and the difference is evident. Congratulations, Your Excellency.
Yesterday, I represented Her Excellency, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs Edesili Anani, at the Intimate Partner Violence Awareness and Advocacy Programme held as part of the 2025 16 Days of Activism. As her representative, I also delivered her official speech at the event.
The programme was organised by the Josemaria Escriva Foundation (JOSEF) and the Indomitable Youths. It focused on domestic violence against men and violence within intimate relationships, an important but often overlooked issue affecting many homes.
Her Excellency reaffirmed the Edo State Government’s zero tolerance stance on all forms of domestic and intimate partner violence and emphasised the need for men and boys to take responsibility, speak up and become active allies in ending this cycle.
Together, we remain committed to building safer homes, healthier relationships and a more compassionate Edo State.

We commend this kind gesture and thank Her Excellency for prioritizing inclusion. As the Office of the Special Adviser on SDGs, we will continue to support every effort that uplifts vulnerable groups and promotes equality in Edo State.
To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I joined the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Edo State, to celebrate as she represented our Mother, the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, CON @SenRemiTinubu, through the Renewed Hope Initiative, to empower 250 people living with disability in Edo State with ₦200,000 each.
Our Mother’s selflessness through the Renewed Hope Initiative continues to shine. Her work speaks directly to the Sustainable Development Goals, especially reducing inequality, ending poverty, and giving everyone a fair chance. We appreciate her for always promoting inclusion and giving every Nigerian a sense of belonging.
I also thank the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Her Excellency Mrs. Edesiri Anani, for her hard work, compassion, and commitment in driving the Renewed Hope Initiative in our state.
A big thank you to His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State @m_akpakomiza, for his generosity and for making sure no one is left behind. Today, he also donated a bus to support people living with disability at the event.
Together, we are building a state where everyone matters.

On October 31st, @OPay_NG hosted us in Lagos for the Empowering Futures Conference 2025 celebrating impact and empowering tomorrow. It was an inspiring experience witnessing how OPay continues to redefine possibilities and drive sustainable empowerment across Nigeria.
As the facilitator of the OPay 10-Year Scholarship at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), it was an honour to lead a delegation to Lagos for this remarkable event. OPay is not just a financial brand; it is a force for progress, investing in education, innovation, and the future of young Nigerians.

For us at the Office of the Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals, Edo State, leaving no one behind is more than a principle — it is our mission.
This is the essence of the SDGs: ensuring that progress touches every life, in every community.
