If you’re trusting God for something, confess it

See, when me and Adewale were in the hospital and the doctors told us that William could come any moment and we would have him prematurely, my husband kept saying one word

“Not today”

Many times I would start going into labour because my amniotic fluid was leaking and my body was primed to push the baby out

But my husband will say “Not today Ochanya”

This baby cannot come now

And just like that labour would stop.

One time, I was very sure the baby would come. I started bleeding from nowhere

I just told him, “babe this child is coming”

My husband kept saying “not today. I told God that this boy would not come until we are 35 weeks.”

Brothers and sisters, my son did not come until 35 weeks

Never jokingly say “my own is finished”

“I have suffered”

“This my child is dull”

“My head cannot carry this book”

Never confess negativity

Remember that woman whose child was dead??

When they asked her, she kept saying “it is well”

Even if the situation looks hopeless, never stop confessing positively

Life and death are in your mouth

Use your mouth to only declare goodness

A life of consecration says:

“My desires, body, time, money, ambitions, and choices belong to Christ.”

You were not saved to live for yourself.

You were saved to live for God.

My approach to doctrinal matters is increasingly simple:

Jesus took bread, broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is broken for you.” — 1 Corinthians 11:24

There is something profoundly instructive in that picture.

THE BODY IS ONE—BUT THE BREAD IS BROKEN.

One loaf.
Many pieces.
Same bread.
Same life.
Same Christ.

And perhaps this is something the Church desperately needs to recover:

YOU MAY HAVE A PIECE WITHOUT HAVING THE WHOLE LOAF.

Your revelation may be genuine without being exhaustive.

Your emphasis may be biblical without being the only biblical emphasis.

Your movement may have recovered something precious without recovering everything.

Your fathers may have carried something from God without carrying everything God has given to His Body.

NO ONE HAS ALL THE PARTS.
AND NO TRUE PART OF THE BODY IS WITHOUT SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE.

The tragedy begins when a piece starts behaving like the whole loaf.

When my revelation becomes the revelation.

When my emphasis becomes the gospel.

When my stream becomes the Body.

Paul said:

“The eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee.” — 1 Corinthians 12:21

That is the arrogance of a part that has forgotten it is a part.

The eye can see—but cannot hear.
The ear can hear—but cannot walk.
The hand can work—but cannot see.

YOUR LIMITATION MAY BE GOD'S ARCHITECTURE FOR DEPENDENCE.

Perhaps God did not put everything in one stream because He intended the Body to need the Body.

So:

STAY IN YOUR PART—BUT HONOUR THE OTHER PARTS.

Carry your revelation strongly.
Preach your emphasis boldly.
Guard what God entrusted to you.

But don't turn your portion into a weapon against another portion of Christ's Body.

And understand this:

HONOUR IS NOT ENDORSEMENT.
UNITY IS NOT DOCTRINAL BLINDNESS.
DISCERNING THE BODY DOES NOT MEAN FAILING TO DISCERN ERROR.

Error is still error.
Heresy must still be rejected.
Truth must still be defended.

But difference is not automatically error.

Correct what is false.
Hold firmly to truth.

But never become so convinced of your portion that you can no longer recognise Christ in another part of His Body.

AND THIS IS WHERE THE MATTER BECOMES MORE SERIOUS.

Because Communion is not merely about discernment of bread.

It is about discernment of BODY.

Paul warns:

“Not discerning the Lord's body… for this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.” — 1 Corinthians 11:29–30

Think about that.

We can discern the bread on the table—

AND FAIL TO DISCERN THE BODY AROUND THE TABLE.

We can take Communion while attacking communion.

We can break bread together while breaking one another apart.

We can honour the symbol of His Body while dishonouring members of His Body.

WHAT CONTRADICTION!

We reverence the bread because it represents His Body—

then despise the brother who is actually a member of that Body.

MINISTERS, DISCERN THE BODY.

That man may not speak your language—discern the Body.

That denomination may not carry your emphasis—discern the Body.

That movement may have weaknesses you can clearly see—correct what is wrong, but discern the Body.

You don't have to become them.

You don't have to abandon conviction.

You don't have to call error truth for the sake of unity.

But neither should you call every difference error simply because it is not your portion.

STAY IN YOUR PART.
DISCERN THE OTHER PART.
HONOUR THE OTHER PART.
RECEIVE FROM THE OTHER PART.

Because when the hand declares war on the eye, it is not destroying another body.

IT IS WOUNDING ITS OWN BODY.

This is Communion.

ONE LORD.
ONE BODY.
MANY MEMBERS.
DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS.
DIFFERENT EMPHASES.
DIFFERENT PORTIONS.
BUT ONE CHRIST.

The Body was broken FOR US.

Let us stop using its brokenness AGAINST US.

DISCERN THE LORD'S BODY.

God is not glorified when the servant becomes the attraction. Faithful ministry should make Christ clearer, greater, and more precious, while the man speaking becomes easier to forget.

Paul refused to build ministry around personality. He said, “We do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Corinthians 4:5). That is the pattern. The minister is not the message. Christ is.

John the Baptist understood this when he said, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). That is not false humility. It is the right order of things. The servant is useful only when he points beyond himself to the Master.

This is where modern ministry can become dangerous. A preacher can gather attention, loyalty, admiration, and even a personal following while Christ slowly becomes background. Paul rebuked that spirit in Corinth: “What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed” (1 Corinthians 3:5).

The goal of ministry is not to make people impressed with the preacher’s gifts, intelligence, platform, or personality. It is to bring them face to face with Christ through His Word.

If people leave remembering only the man, something has gone wrong.

Faithful ministry does not make the servant larger. It makes Christ harder to miss.

Pornography is an open door to darkness. It corrupts the mind, weakens your walk with God, and pulls you away from purity. Guard your eyes and your heart. Don’t normalize what is destroying your spiritual life. There is freedom when you turn away and surrender it to Christ.

And the truth is, following Christ is not easy. Don’t let anyone deceive you. Dying to your flesh is NOT fun. There are things you’ll have to surrender, habits you’ll have to unlearn, and parts of yourself you’ll have to allow God to transform.

But there is SO much grace.

Everything God creates, Satan tries to counterfeit. He has his own counterfeit version of love, counterfeit religions, counterfeit prophets, a counterfeit Jesus, and counterfeit religious teachings and books.

His goal is to distort what God has established, deceive people, and ultimately turn humanity away from the truth of God.

The devil cannot create what God creates, so he imitates, twists, and corrupts it. That is why we must know the truth of God’s Word, so we can recognize the counterfeit when we see it.

One of the ways you know the Holy Spirit is dwelling in you and actively working in your heart is through GRATITUDE. ❤️

You suddenly become grateful for everything.

You return from work and kneel down to thank Jesus.

You sneeze and thank Him.

You use the restroom and thank Him.

You eat and thank Him.

You drink water and thank Him.

You wake up from sleep and thank Him.

You literally find yourself thanking God for the smallest things.

It’s not forced. It’s not a performance.

You just naturally say, “Thank You, Jesus,” with a genuinely grateful heart.

Worry is a sin because it shows a lack of trust in God. Jesus actually gave us a whole teaching about why we should not worry.

In Luke 12:24, Jesus specifically used ravens as an example: “Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap… yet God feeds them.” There are thousands of birds, but Jesus chose the raven for a reason.

Ravens were considered unclean birds under the Law, yet God still provides for them. He created them and built into creation what they need to survive.

So Jesus is saying: if God cares for a bird that was considered unclean, how much more does He care about you?

You need to stop worrying and start trusting God. He already knows what you need. Worry cannot solve your problems, it only adds more anxiety to them.

If God feeds the ravens, how much more will He take care of you? You are worth far more than birds. (Luke 12:24)

Not everyone will understand your obedience or the boundaries God asks you to set. Following Christ may cost you relationships or acceptance, but never trade your peace with God. Obedience to God will always profit you in the end, and it is worth more.

God can use the gifting He has blessed a man with to accomplish His purposes. However, this must not be confused with God’s approval of the person.

When Paul was in prison writing to the church in Philippi, he rejoiced that Christ was being proclaimed, even though some were preaching from envy, rivalry, and ungodly motives.

Paul was thankful because, despite their wrong motives, God was still accomplishing His purposes through the proclamation of the gospel. Because He is endlessly creative, God can draw straight lines with crooked instruments.

We must therefore be careful not to interpret the results we see in our lives, or the apparent effects of our ministry, as proof of God’s validation of our lives. Fruitfulness in ministry is not, by itself, evidence of divine approval.

We must continually examine ourselves and test our works in the light of Scripture. Many will point to the great things they did in Jesus’ name, yet He will say to them, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”

God does not fellowship with those who glory in iniquity, regardless of the great works they may appear to have accumulated. The power of God working through a man is not the same thing as the approval of God upon that man.

Our greatest concern should not merely be whether God is using us, but whether we are walking faithfully before Him.
