MADLANGA COMMISSION | Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni is asked to explain how the 30% local content could be demonstrated to Sanral if there was no documentation of his relationship with Ntuli and Tengane Mining.
"For years, when Eskom deteriorated under André de Ruyter, we were repeatedly and often correctly reminded of the context he inherited: corruption, sabotage, criminal syndicates, political interference, ageing plants and years of inadequate maintenance.
Yet when Eskom improves under a Black chairperson, a Black chief executive and a predominantly Black executive leadership, suddenly context becomes not mitigation but explanation. The improvement is because of solar. Because of business. Because demand is down. Because of government intervention. Because of reforms already under way. Blah blah blah. And almost on cue, hit pieces from Business Tech, fixating on the CEO’s remuneration, suddenly surface.
South Africa has developed a peculiar evidentiary test for Black competence. Failure tends to come with names attached but success somehow belongs to everyone."

The President has ordered that all streetlights be fixed. If these streetlights aren’t fixed within two weeks, who exactly are we calling to report this failure? #FamilyMeeting
I didn’t manage to watch the Commission today, I only caught the last 30 mins. The sense I got from what I did see though, was that it’s now every man for himself.
Sometimes I think old Italians are exaggerating about the downfall of Italian football...
Then I watch something like this and I think they're not angry enough 😭
