@Bigbookenergy2@BenisonMrs You can request accommodations at the Collegiate level and potentially provide an IEP to show the type of accommodations you had in high school, but it’s a different process to implement.
@emilykmay Like, I love a registry. You need this? I don’t have to guess at what you want? Banging. I have a friend that I will buy something off her registry to go with the blanket I’m making for her baby.
@FleetwoodAnn@ask_aubry I understand that she might have been in shock at first, but I guess at some point I would’ve come to and just hung up and walked away. I was raised by women who took no crap though. She might not have been raised the same, in which case she should practice defending herself
Secret service aside....
No female police officers means only male officers searching women. Only male officers conducting rape interviews. Only male officers dealing with domestic violence victims.
I worked in security at a casino. Would you like to know how many times I had to go into female bathrooms and help older (often disabled) women who have fallen and were in various states of undress? Or women who came to me because they felt unsafe because of some creep and they felt comfortable telling me so I could make sure they got help or an escort to their vehicle?
Criticize people who are bad at their job, but don't be stupid.
This will probably be unpopular, but:
Take a second to pray for Thomas Cooks’ parents. They’re living every parent’s nightmare right now
Their child died doing an objectively evil and abhorrent thing. They’ll want to mourn but (understandably) they’ll expect no sympathy
Hey why are Christians so unpleasant? I don’t mean to non-Christians, even. Just in general. To each other. Why are so many Christians so sour and constantly angry and mean-spirited? I know you can quote a few “mean” sounding scripture passages, but shouldn’t we be joyful people?
@adagio484 @GrumpyOW@jacknanann@babybeginner I think I lost brain cells reading this - it’s like when middle schoolers leave comments on Google Classroom
Nothing like watching 4th of July celebrations start and looking at your list and realizing that you can’t do any of that because the apartment you’re supposed to move into this week has major electrical and plumbing issues still.
Another day, another sense of losing out
I’m not trying to start something here, but this is a friendly reminder that your ministry people who work 40 hour/week jobs, HAVE REAL JOBS!!!!!
All the fun things that build community at your church? They’re planned by people who work hard and sometimes that’s 👏🏻their 👏🏻JOB👏🏻
Even one woman in a seminary class changes the entire classroom dynamic, for worse. The theologian Voetius allowed one woman in his lectures: she had to hide behind a curtain, arrive before the men, and leave after them. That woman ended up joining a schismatic sect, by the way.
