I'm thinking about writing an article that explains in broad terms--for the benefit of non-veterans--why most GWOT veterans have such loathing for the senior uniformed leadership that Trump and Hegseth have run off.

Major reasons I can think of so far:

1. Eagerly implementing the racist, sexist, esprit de corps-destroying policies of DEI across the force.

2. Creating and endorsing restrictive ROE that valued the lives of terrorists over the lives of American servicemen and women.

3. Never telling the President "Sir, we will never be able to transform the 8th Century savagery of tribal Afghanistan into a modern, liberal society no matter how hard we try. It's a fool's errand."

4. Forcing troops to take an experimental COVID vaccine whose risks were deliberately hidden, and then conducting life-destroying Salem witch trials on anyone who refused.

5. Never resigning in protest over any of the above and instead protecting their potential for post-retirement, lucrative service on the boards of directors of the only groups profiting from the GWOT.

I know there are lots of smaller issues, but I'm trying to capture the really, really MAJOR ones that most of us agree on.

The ground-launched weapons are expected to carry roughly 225-kilogram warheads beyond 480 kilometers, cost about £400,000 apiece, and enter production at up to 20 missiles per month, with at least one design intended to reach Ukraine by the end of 2026.

Their most strategically important feature, however, is what they exclude: American components and navigation data, allowing London to supply and authorize their use without Washington’s export restrictions or political approval.

Venezuela has stabilized and is in alignment with President Trump and the United States.

Delcy Rodriguez, a former Maduro lieutenant is now the leader of Venezuela and is ably leading the final negotiations on transforming Venezuela into a market economy with better paying jobs while re-establishing civil society.

All without a U.S. Military occupation force.

A related Time magazine article said, describing the relationship of President Trump to Delcy Rodriguez:

🚨 HERE’S WHAT ACTUALLY CAUSED BITCOIN TO EXPLODE TO $69,700.

Everyone is looking at the Bitcoin candle.

But the move started in a completely different market:

U.S. Treasury bonds.

The Treasury just DOUBLED the size of its long-term bond buyback program.

→ Old maximum: $2 BILLION per operation
→ New maximum: AT LEAST $4 BILLION
→ Targets: 10-to-20 and 20-to-30-year Treasury bonds
→ Starts September 9 through November 4

In simple words:

The Treasury is offering more support to the market for long-term U.S. government debt.

And that matters because Treasury yields are basically the return investors can get from holding government bonds.

When those yields FALL, risky assets like Bitcoin usually become more attractive.

And look what happened right after the announcement:

→ 10-year yield: -6 bps to 4.647%
→ 30-year yield: -9 bps to 5.196%

Then Bitcoin moved.

$65,400 at 10:45 AM ET
→ $67,600 at 11:26 AM ET
→ $69,700 at 11:27 AM ET

Bitcoin gained more than $2,000 in ONE MINUTE.

That move trapped traders betting against Bitcoin.

As their leveraged shorts were liquidated, they were forced out of their positions, creating even more buying.

The result:

💀 $1.59 BILLION in crypto liquidations over 24 hours

💀 $746 MILLION in Bitcoin shorts reportedly wiped out in that one-minute candle
