Coinbase recently laid off roughly 14% of its workforce, around 700 employees with reason being that the company is restructuring around AI-driven efficiency and “leaner” teams.

Reports say leadership believes AI can now help smaller teams do work that previously required much larger organizations. As of today, the website cannot be accessed.

Whether the outage is temporary or unrelated, the timing says a lot about the current state of tech:

-- Companies are racing to become “AI-first.”
-- Headcount is being treated as overhead.
-- Institutional knowledge is disappearing faster than executives realize.

AI can improve productivity but replacing experienced people with automation while expecting systems to remain resilient is a risky game — especially in industries where trust, uptime, and security is everything.

This isn’t just a Coinbase story. It’s a preview of what many companies are about to face:

My dad hung himself when I was 18.

One of my sisters got high on heroine, smashed her car into a tree and became a paraplegic before dying when I was 24.

Another sister got high on heroine and hung herself in a jail cell.

One of my Marines became my best friend but we lost touch right before he was killed in Afghanistan.

2 weeks ago, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord & Savior and I’ll be Baptized in a few weeks.

I have never felt the peace, strength, love and confidence that I have now.

A relationship with Jesus is the real ‘Generational Wealth’ that all fathers should be dedicating their lives to achieving for their descendants.
