Faith alone isn't enough—without the right knowledge, even the strongest faith can be unproductive and defeated. True victory comes when you combine unshakable faith with accurate understanding of God's Word. The Lord Jesus demonstrated this perfectly by refusing to act on temptation, choosing divine truth over deception every time.
Never walk in spiritual ignorance, always apply your faith with knowledge.

The Issue With Second Chances
When a partner strays in a relationship, his or her best chance of preserving the relationship is to keep that indiscretion a secret
Once it is known, the relationship will be over for ever
The one who strayed will forever be thinking that his or partner will hold it over his or her head one way or the other as their relationship progresses
The one that didn't stray will struggle with forgiving the spouse and even after he or she must have done that trust issues will creep in
It is a slippery slope
The partner that strayed will eventually decide to start on a clean note with someone else
Someone who cannot use their indiscretion against them
The partner that was cheated on will also decide it is best to start afresh with someone else, since he or she cannot see this partner in the same light anymore
On rare occasions, the partners discuss the issues and decide to give it another go
This is where maturity, understanding, forgiveness, wisdom and courage come into play
Most times, the partner that was cheated upon may begin to exhibit insecurity traits
Asking questions like "Where are you coming from", "Who were you with?" "I want to see your chat", "Who dropped you off?" "Why are you always lying?"
Even in their silence sometimes, the partner that was cheated upon is all arms up in protestation
He or she learns over time to deal with it
However, the ghosts of a cheating experience never really dies
It affects everything and taints everything
The one cheated upon would look at himself or herself and question what he or she did or did not do right
The one that cheated did it of his or her own free will and it really has nothing to do with the other partner but the questions will still pop up
Some partners develop a pattern from this point
Once they cheat and they see that their partner did not make much of an issue of it, they become serial cheats knowing their partner can tolerate it
Some partners however stop cheating after that one time but they answer for that indiscretion all their lives as their partner in a bid to revenge begins to cheat on them in revenge
There are all sorts of evil in the Pandora box when it comes to unfaithfulness and it's consequences on relationships
It is best not to open that box at all
Always remember this

Context is Key
I have followed the ministry of a certain Man of God for many years. I have never worshipped in his church before or sat under his ministration physically but I admire him from afar and i listened to his teachings a lot
He is in sync with the Holy Spirit and he has a divine understanding and command of the Scriptures
In one of his teachings, he taught emphatically about the use of material mediums in ministrations and he condemned it
He said he will never believe that things can be more empowered than people and a Christian who is full of the Holy Spirit is infinitely greater than a mantle or an oil or water or whatever else which many Pentecostal religious leaders lay emphasis upon
I believe he is right with his take on people being spirit filled than carrying a handkerchief in their bag which they believe is spirit filled
He also kept strictly to his business and ministry and as much as many would insult or vilify him, he didn't dignify any of them with a response
When he got divorced and many people with wandering imaginations started insinuating that he did something wrong, he held his peace
Oh how I love this man
One day he was in America ministering with an American preacher
This American preacher has this money making gimmicks which is common to American preachers.
They sell prayer shawls, medallions, momentoes etc in exchange for cash gifts from their members
In order to push the sale, they bless the materials on TV and then sweet tongue it by saying anybody that buys will get this or that by the power of the Holy Spirit
The Man of God had finished preaching when his American host told the ushers to bring the prayer shawls and asked this Man of God to bless it on International TV
I held my breath
I asked myself "What will Pastor do now"
I know he had preached against it several times and he preached from a place of conviction
The American Pastor does not know this and so this is a clash of two different schools of thought
Pastor laid hands on the shawl and blessed them, right in front of the whole world
Wow!
Two weeks after that service, the American preacher came out on LIVE TV to apologise for selling things and collecting money from people and even tithes and said he would never do it again!
Something has happened in the background that we were not privy to but the American preacher saw the light and changed his ways and has remained steadfast in that commitment till today.
A friend of mine showed me the picture of the pastor blessing the shawls some months later and asked me to justify why that pastor was praying on shawls on national TV
The picture looked bad because it portrayed a man who was doing something that was against his conviction and would make a good talking point for any naysayer
But I had the benefit of context
Wisdom is an asset
Another pastor could have refused to pray or staged a walk out
People would have hailed him for standing on his principles but he would have gained a reputation for haughtiness on LIVE TV and it would have done nothing positive for the body of Christ
What he did led to changes that caused a seismic ripple throughout the body, he did what was asked and then he showed the American pastor a better way to do things
Some years ago, i found myself in UAE, at the airport with seven hours to wait for my connecting flight to another country
I walked about the airport praying
I prayed for three hours and then I felt like preaching the gospel, IN UAE
Inside the airport
I went about looking for friendly faces from one end of the airport to the other
I got none
Then I saw a room, guys were there sitting an talking and really having a good time
Wow
In this airport?
It was the smoking room
I ran to the duty free area and I bought a box of cigarrettes
I blessed it and then I walked into the moking room
I smiled and said i am from Africa and Africans dont come into any gathering empty handed
They guys laughed
"What do you have there?" An American asked, is it from Africa?
I said "No sir, just got it from the duty free area" Everybody laughed
I walked to the guy nearest to me, i extended my hand for a handshake
He shook me, He was from Pakistan
He had a limp on his right leg, i held on to his hand, he swayed and then staggered, people looked at us and at me suspiciously
The man stood straight, the limp had been healed
"Oh my God, my leg is fine"
He shouted
He led me to his wife outside of that smoking room
They were going to India from the USA for a surgery, something to do with the wife's respiratory system
The wife was healed
The mother in law was a wheel chair, she was travelling with them too
She got healed
Other people saw us and joined
I ended up with 19 souls won, 11 Pakistanis, five Indians, and three Iranians
They are all doing wonderfully well in Christ today
Imagine somebody taking my picture when I was at the duty free shop and posting it on the internet with any caption of the person's choice
Many people will form their opinion and they will be wrong
My life is my business and I keep my nose in my business.
Talking about other people robs us of context and as a result our opinion is always going to be wrong, because we are not the one who sees all the dots and connects it, we can only see whatever we saw in the moment we saw it.
Let us always remember this.

Good morning, we will be taking prayer requests today as instructed by the Holy Spirit.
He said to me last year December 19, that we should wait 90 days into the New Year before opening the prayer lines to the public
The first 90 days he said is meant to build ourselves up as ministers and deepen our intimacy with him through our fellowship and by ministering unto The Lord
As many who had followed @GbengaWemimo@officialGSWMI@GswmiFirebrand@gswmicsr65760@WidowsM36520@GswmiPC@GSWMI_RNation@GSWMICoZ_@GSWMI_HealingSc@EuANGELion__ over the years will testify, every Thursday we take prayer requests and we attend to these requests by calling and praying with the individual senders via phone calls from our team of ministers. We also have a 12-6pm prayer line on zoom which you can log in to and participate in the six hour intercessory prayer meeting we hold every Thursday.
We have held these prayers among ourselves as ministers since the beginning of the year without fail, just so that we can grow and be properly prepared to dispense the verities of grace effortlessly.
The first 90 days of the year was very tough for many in Nigeria
In that 90 days we increased our welfare, scholarship, CSR activities, financial support towards widows and missionaries on every side
We didn't want to be the Kind of ministry that would demand for prayer requests when we could help to alleviate the pain and suffering of people by getting directly involved
We paid the school fees of over 200 students and supported over 50 from UNILAG during their examination period with welfare packages
The widows fund was also beefed up and our allowances to them increased by 50%
It was a trying time for the world but in Zion there was more than enough and we made these provisions available to all who cared to seek us out for help.
The good news is, things will get better in the economies of world governments going forward
As usual it will be erratic and all but the people will be able to breathe better
We are hereby moving from meeting basic needs to meeting more important needs relating to our spiritual well being, health, hopes and aspirations of all kinds and the meeting of our expectations as believers. Non Christians are also encouraged to participate, it does not hurt in anyway for us to pray
If you have any prayer request, kindly send it to my DM or the DM of @GswmiFirebrand, you can also send it via Whatsapp/Text messages to me on 08072744871 or to the Firebrand prayer line on 08147862078
You can also send your requests via text messages and emails on [email protected] or [email protected]
Kindly include your name and phone number in the request, if you have a preferred time we should call to pray with you.
When we pray, the supernatural happens.
Let us put this assurance to test today and trust the Holy Spirit to sort out difficult issues within His body effortlessly.
To Join the prayer line on Zoom (This is optional) kindly log in by 12 noon to the link below

Grey Areas
A mother had three daughters
The first had an abortion at 19 and lost her womb
Of course, she engaged the services of a quack doctor because she dare not let her parents know she got pregnant
It was a shameful thing that would bring her parents shame in the church and society
It would also definitely disrupt her education and advancement in life
The man responsible for the pregnancy was actually still a teenager like her, it was a teen love thing and the two of them were so lost in their puppy love world of wonders that they didn't consider the consequence of all the "touch me here and touch me there" they were doing when they got to the "explore my body that I may understand myself better" stage of the relationship
When it suddenly struck them that his fishing expeditions into her body had gotten her pregnant, all he did was cry like a baby
He didn't know what to do
All his manliness and macho dissolved into nothing
She realised she had to take responsibility for her own life at that point and began to make enquiries about getting the buns out of her oven
Eventually, she learnt about a doctor who would do it for cheap
She raised the money and did it
It ruined her chances of having a child for life
The second daughter was born with a hormonal condition that has prevented her from menstruating since she hit puberty
A lot of money has been spent on hormonal therapy without much gains
This leaves her
The last girl
She was brilliant, as healthy as a fiddle and beautiful
She started her career at the age of twenty and by the age of thirty she was sitting shoulder to shoulder with the heavy lifters of her industry in various conference rooms
Her career was very important to her
She had little or no time for relationships
She considered emotional entanglements a distraction
She did this until she was in her mid-thirties
Then their father died and all the children and their mother had to go through the burial process
After the burial, the will was read and in it, their father stated clearly that the only regret he had was not attending the wedding of any of his children or having a grandchild through them even though he died at the age of seventy
He asked his daughters to please ensure that their mother didn't die with the same regrets
He left a befitting inheritance for them and words of encouragement
Their father's will hit her like a mission statement
She told herself she will support her sisters to do all they can to get married and have children
She sponsored the sister with hormonal issues to New York to meet with specialists so that whatever ought to be rectified could be done to cure her of her health issue
The other sister who lost her womb was encouraged to adopt a baby
Both sisters didn't argue with her
The one who ought to adopt a baby went through the process and four years later her hope was crushed by the agency because she was not married and had not been able to hold down a job or a business all her life
She was born rich and practically lived her life pursuing pleasure and a soft life
The other sister with the hormonal issues didn't make any headway too
despite the humongous amount of money spent to correct her hormonal issues
She had never experienced such failures before in her life
Four years of heavy investments on two fronts and both ends came up with nothing
It affected her badly
She sank into depression
Their mother was four years older than when she started out trying to fulfil her father's will
Their mother had since developed some health complications like hypertension, arthritis, some memory issues and so on
Which they are managing as she grows closer to seventy
It was too overwhelming for her
She took two weeks break for work to pray and make a form decision regarding the future
She turned to God and said "If you don't intervene in issues like this, then what good are you? If you don't consider my father's wish important enough for you to wade in, then why did he serve you so earnestly all his life?
I will choose another religion or become an atheist if you don't do something
My mother is sick at the age of 69 and all she wanted was to see her daughters get married and for her to carry her child children
You are doing this for unbelievers, why are you denying us these basic things that you give everybody?
Why would my oldest sister be denied the right to adopt a baby and you give children to child molesters?
Why would my other sister be sick with this strange disease and you refused to heal her despite all the funds we sunk into her therapy?
What kind of a God keeps mute at the suffering of his children?
She kept these dark thoughts going in her head until she came to the conclusion that it was best for her to commit suicide
She didn't know how she got there but she did
She began to think of the most effective and painless way to do it
She picked up her phone and ordered some things she believed she would need
They arrived at her doorstep a few hours later
She decided it was the best decision for her and the family at large
She had failed to fulfil her father's wish and God had failed to show up for her family
She couldn't bear to see her mother suffering and her sisters unfulfilled
The best decision was to end it all!
Just as she started working on executing this decision, her phone rang
She picked it
It was from her mother
Her mother sent him a phone number and asked her to call the number urgently
She decided to call the number as a matter of granting her mother's last wish to her before she would end it all
She called
The person picked
she introduced herself
The person introduced himself
She said "My mummy sent me your number and asked me to call you"
The person said "Your mummy said she had a terrible dream that you died, she said it was so real that she was not sure if she was dreaming or experiencing it in reality until she woke up in a panic"
She said "Ha, mummy was right"
The person said "You were planning to end it all"
She said "Yes" and then she began to tell her story and all the frustrations she had been enduring all her life
She spoke for three hours
The person then asked her why in all her talk she didn't mention getting married or trying to have children
She kept quiet
The person asked her again "You said you daddy has three daughters, two of them have issues having children but you don't.
You are a beautiful young woman who made the choice to face her career and never get married or have children. Your father didn't put you under pressure and neither did your mother or siblings. You listened to your father's will and decided to do something about it but that thing you decided to do was not to put yourself out there, get married and have children to solve the problem.
It was to push others towards it while you remained immovable on your principles
You are unwilling to produce life with your body but you are willing to take your own life to spite God for not answering your prayers.
Did I summarise what is going on correctly?
She kept quiet at first, then she said "I never saw it that way"
He said "That is the problem of being short-sighted. Short sighted people lack both foresight and hindsight. They neither learn from their past nor see into their future. They take a principle and stick to it like stones, forgetting that human beings are more like water. We must adapt or we will die!"
She said "I get your point now sir. I admit that I have been short-sighted, I have outsourced solutions that i have the power and ability to procure and i am complaining of not meeting my target. I will adjust"
Then she said "I have spoken with many pastors in my life and they all usually will say "let me pray for you or sow a seed into my life or my ministry for your breakthrough. It got so bad that I stopped going to church when my pastor said he knows how much i earn in pounds and since I don't have a husband or a child he does not understand why I am not giving fifty percent of my income to church to encourage the work of God since i will die and strangers will end up inheriting everything I have. This was why I stopped going to church
It was not the first time a pastor will say that to me or insinuate it but you spoke to me like a brother r even a father
All frank and dispassionate and I appreciate that
God bless you sir.
They rang off
A month later, she called him with the good news that she was pregnant
He rejoiced with her
Nine months later, she delivered a set of triplets
He shouted Glory"
He named the baby in a very close family affair on zoom
The lady, her two sisters and their mother were the only attendees
Her mother and two sisters moved to Manchester to help her nurse the babies as soon as she got close to her due date
Three months after the babies were born, her sister that was plagued with hormonal issues began to see her period naturally and without any medical intervention at the age of 39 after attending the GSWMI prophetic service held on the first Wednesday of February 2023
She also got pregnant a few weeks later and delivered a set of twins on December 17, 2023 in Manchester
They moved into a bigger apartment as a family
Their mother, now 71 years old
Her three daughters aged 42, 40 and 38 and the five grandchildren (Three boys and two girls)
Her mother is happy and healthier, her sisters are fulfilled (The oldest has taken to caring for the children as her own and is absolutely enjoying the role without any reservation
Their mother is a bit frail so she can't do much running around but she instructs
She goes to work and so does her sister with their minds at rest that their children are in safe hands
Her father's will was fulfilled and they have another generation in the family to nurture and raise with the right values.
PS: If you are wondering if a process was skipped deliberately in the testimony shared above, you will be right
It was not a traditional story that many of us are used to
It is however a true story
I was the "Person" she spoke with on the day she wanted to commit suicide
When it comes to preserving a family's legacy and the generations to come, the Bible showed us the lengths God is willing to go
Take for example Lot and his daughters, the short-sighted folks will see everything wrong with it
The girls got their father drunk so he didn't sleep with them knowingly and they got pregnant as a result
Lot didn't make a habit of sleeping with his daughters for fun or leisure
His daughters did what was done to preserve his bloodline
It happened to Judah too
He slept with his daughter-in-law just once (She pretended to be a prostitute, so he didn't do it knowingly) and it was to preserve the coming generation
Naomi's two sons and husband died, she was too old to have a husband or a baby but she had a daughter-in-law who could help her redeem her lineage and she took that opportunity to do so through Boaz
She knew Boaz's first son through Ruth belonged to her husband and would bear her husband's name and carry on his legacy
Yet you see believers in 2024 frowning on ladies who chose to do IVF in order to secure the coming generations
I heard of a pastor who told a 45-year-old single lady that doing IVF would be like "helping God"
When Abraham helped himself by having Ishmael instead of waiting for the promised child, God didn't take any offence
It was Sarah who took offence and sent the woman and her child away
The first time this was done, an angel appeared to Hagar and told her to go back home because she ran away by herself due to the wicked way she was treated by Sarah but the second time Sarah made Abraham send her away and this time, since it was Abraham that sent away, it remained so.
We will be having a debate to discuss issues I have tagged the Grey Area Debates every third Friday of the month going forward
The first of these debates will be taking place this Friday, kindly join us when the links are out
You are also free to share your comments and opinions in the comment session, just be polite and state your point clearly
Someone someday will come across this and it will be a huge blessing to the person as he or she makes a decision on preserving the future

October 19th 2004,
I had been in Bowen University for 17 days, I had paid my acceptance fees.
I was fasting and praying for a miracle to be able to pay my school fees before registration would close. My mum was running all over Ibadan and Lagos trying to gather my school fees.
I was staying at UPE 3, my roommates were all in 100 level. Everybody was busy signing course forms and settling down for lectures.
When I left home, all I had on me was my transport fare that took me to Bowen. I had a bucket of custard and some sachets of milk. That was all! I woke up daily and went to chapel to pray. God must come through otherwise I will have to pack my bag and return home. That was not an option.
I broke my fast daily with custard at about 7pm. I was as thin as copper wire. One afternoon, I was so hungry it felt like I was going to die. I went to the room to lie down. A young man came into the room and saw me. He looked at me and said “I have never seen you eat before since we resumed school. I have never seen you at the cafeteria. I have never seen you getting a take away pack. Why?”
I just smiled.
How many people will you tell your story? I had found myself in a very expensive school and I had no hope of graduating from there unless God comes through. Food was the last thing on my mind.
He said, “Please, come with me. Let me buy you lunch!”
I followed him with joy, I needed the food badly. That lunch saved my life. Niyi Jenrola bought me my first plate of rice at Lumpus Cafeteria.
After eating that meal, I went to the library and cried my eyes out. The rice tasted so good. It was the first act of kindness that I received in that school and it opened the door to others. My mummy came the following day and cleared my school fees. I also got some pocket money. Somehow, I graduated from that school at the right time.
Today, I went to have lunch at Wakame Restaurant at Ikeja, Lagos. A couple came in and sat to my left. I looked at them from afar and admired the chemistry between them. They didn’t even look remotely familiar. They stood up to get their meal from the buffet options.
The young man looked at me and smiled. I looked at him and suddenly I recognized him. Niyi Jenrola and his wife!
My God!
I hugged him over and over again.
We talked for a while and he introduced me to his lovely wife.
If ever a meal made a difference, it was that which this young man bought for me.
God has blessed him indeed and he will always be blessed.
I insisted on paying for his lunch today and he honored me by obliging me.
I am writing this thank you note to him and many others whose acts of kindness are doing wonders all over the world.
The meal he bought me is priceless, it came at a time when there was no hope.
It made me realize that my prayers are not unheard or unanswered.
It was the sign that made me realize all as not lost and it turned out to be as I saw it.
I am grateful
Praying with the Light
How much light is inside of you?
Knowledge is light
There are many who pray and pray
and pray but they have no light in
them
Prayer warriors full of fear, dread,
and darkness
Believing that everything they need
to do about prayer is casting and
binding and cursing and wailing!
I know someone who has been
born again for forty years, a very
prayerful person who had headed
the prayer and intercession team
of many churches
We were having a conversation and
she said "It is the enemy that we
have to focus on and fight, that is
what the bible called the good
fight of fight. This life is a warzone
and we must continually wage war
against the power of darkness that
wants to destroy our testimony and
rob us of our gains in life"
For some believers, she would make
a lot of sense but not to me"
I patiently listened to her and asked
her very simple questions
I said "Ma'am, are you filled with the
Holy Spirit with the evidence of
praying in tongues?
She said no
I said "Why not"
She said "In our church, only a few
people, the elders, and the prophets
do that"
I said "Really!"
She said Yes
I said "What about healing
the sick by the laying on of hands
She said "I don't do that so that
I don't become a partaker of any
man's sins as instructed by Paul
to Timothy"
I said "OK"
She said "I fast a lot and I do a lot
of vigils to prevent the enemy from
attacking me and my family"
I said "Okay"
Then I
brought out my Bible and opened to
the book of Timothy
I said "The laying on of hand here
and the one Jesus told us to do are
different in their interpretation"
Jesus was talking about healing and
Apostle Paul was talking about ordination
If you ordain someone who is not fit into
ministry and the person misbehaves,
people will say "Didn't you pray or do
any investigation before the ordination?"
That way you will be blamed for the
person's misdeed but you cannot be
blamed for healing the sick
She looked at me like "What!"
She had never seen it that way
Then i addressed the issue of enemies
and demon conscious prayers
I said "Let us look at all the prayers
prayed by the apostles in the
New Testament
We started with the prayer of Jesus
in the book of John and then to the
prayers of Apostle Paul, Peter, and John
I said "Did you see
then mentioning demons, enemies,
curses and sin?
She said "This is Africa, do you know
what our forefathers were doing before
the gospel came?"
I said okay, lets look at Moses then
He was born and raised in Pharaoh's
court and there were many demons
and idols in Egypt which as a
prince he would have been part of their
worship when he was a child
Did you hear Moses binding and talking
about them or their effect on him or
his spiritual life ever?
She kept quiet
I said "Do you know that as a believer
you are greater than Moses?"
She said "How?"
I said you
were born after Jesus had come and
died for the sin of the whole world
Moses came before and therefore he
operated in a very limited capacity!
Imagine what Moses would have done
with the name of Jesus.
She said "Wow, I never saw the
scriptures this way before"
But I was not done, I said "Do you
know that from the day you gave your
life to Jesus you became the
righteousness of God in Christ Jesus?"
She said "What does that mean?
I said "Your sins have been forgiven
and you have been set free from
every curse of Adam!"
She said "You mean I am not bound
by the incisions and charms my
father made us swallow as children?
I said "Ma'am, old things passed away,
behold, all things became new for
you in Christ"
She busted into tongues...
Just like that!
She cried and wailed and shook and
screamed
I just watched her and prayed along
When she was done, her arthritis
was gone
She said "I feel no pain, no heaviness, no
stress at all
I feel light, Brother Gbenga, I feel so
happy and free"
I kept quiet
I didn't expect the reaction she gave
earlier and I was shocked too by the
response of the Holy Spirit to our
simple discussion
She said "I have been so fearful, for
many years, that my father's sin
(Her father was an herbalist) would
affect me and my children.
This is why I have led a life of prayer
I always see the idols in my father's
shrine and I bind them every day so
that they won't
harm me or my family
I laughed
I said "Do you know that idols are
nothing?" I opened the Bible to
1 Corinthians 8:4 and made her read it
She said "I have never seen that
scripture before"
I nodded
Most of those who attend fear-mongering
churches are not taught the gospel in its
simplicity
The prayers mention idols, evil altars,
witchcraft covens etc, in fact their
members know more about demons
and the devils than Jesus, the Holy Spirit,
the ministering spirits, the spirit of just
men made perfect and so on.
She said "Why didn't anyone teach me
this, I converted to Christianity from
another religion and nobody taught
me anything like this.
I was taught that life is war and any
minute I spend without being mindful
of the devil can lead to an attack on
me and my family"
I told her I understand
The gospel is light
Jesus is light
The Holy Spirit is light
God is the Father of light with whom
there is no variableness or shadow
of turning
We are the light of the world, a city
set upon the hill that cannot be hid
We have no business with the fruitless
deeds of darkness, we don't give the
enemy any foothold by staying immersed
in the light of the Holy Spirit at all times
We were told to put on Christ
We were not told to memorize the name
of all the demons and where they dwell...
I held hands with the lady and we
prayed, she came to me with a walking
stick and left without one!
How much light is in you?
Peter told us to grow in grace and
knowledge of our Lord and saviour
Jesus Christ!
There is right knowledge and a
wrong knowledge
Which one are you growing in?
Prayer is a communication with God, it's a fellowship with God and one of the things that certainly would hinder or limit a man's ability to pray is if he stops studying the Word of God. Because, in studying God's word, you get to know or hear the person you are praying to, the person that you are fellowshipping with. So, if you can’t pray, it’s proof positive you have deviated or you are alien to the Word of God and once you begin to study the Word of God again (if you are born again particularly if you are filled with the Holy Spirit), your prayer level would just move from one degree of glory to a higher one. So, get back into the Word; that would my recommendation.
So, prayer is borne of a relationship.
Pastor, if he says "I can't pray", he needs to receive the Holy Spirit-number one! Get the book ‘How to Pray Effectively’. You wouldn’t have gone so far into the book, you’d find yourself praying because you'd understand why we should pray. The next thing is, get involved in prayer times; the man of God releases prayer posts for us to pray three times a week. Get involved! And then get involved in congregational prayers (prayer times in church)- this is going to help you as you get immersed in that corporate unction and you learn more how to pray.
And when its prayer time in church, don’t be looking around. Some people just look around when others are praying. What do you want to see? You’ve already seen a lot before the prayer time and you can see after the prayer time. so, during the prayer time, pray! It’s very important
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us (1 John 5:14).
God’s Word is His will expressed to us; therefore, praying according to His will is praying the Word. This is a very important element in prayer that not so many understand and practise: praying by the authority of the Word of God. When we pray, it’s important that it’s on the basis of the revelation and insight given to us by God through His Word. We must act our faith in prayer, on the basis of the Word of God; if God’s Word covers the subject, then we’re audacious in faith to receive answers.
When we pray according to His will—His Word—He hears us. The fifteenth verse says, “And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” This means that when you pray according to His will (His Word), He hears and answers your prayer.
Some people, while praying, just talk, and don’t care whether or not what they’re saying is in line with the Word of God. Your prayers must be consistent with the Word to be effective. Don’t just pray; pray the Word. God already gave His Word, to show us everything that He’s given to us, everything that He’s made us, and everything that we can do in Christ Jesus.
Thus, when you pray, until and unless your words are in sync with His divine provisions in Christ, you’ll be praying amiss. He’s revealed to us how to ask; how to pray and what our requests can cover, so you can have faith when you pray to Him. And your faith grows as you learn the Word of God. The more of God’s Word you know, the more faith you’ll have, and the more accurate and effectual your prayers will be.
PS: We are praying today on the GSWMI Firebrand intercession platform from 12 pm to 6 pm
You can send your prayer request to my DM or 08072744871 Whatsapp
You can also join the prayer link to pray along with us at midday
It is important that we pray and pray the right way
When we pray with the light, we shine!

Laying It Bare
There is a sentimental attachment that we all have with familiarity, if someone or something had kept us warm and safe and happy for a while or several seasons, letting such a person or place go can be a challenge
Sometimes we know we must let go of such but the fear of the unknown, the shared history, and mutual benefit we believe we
are getting from such a relationship, friendship or union keeps us from seeing that as long as we hold on to such we will never make progress
Take for example a young lady who met a man at a party
She was an undergraduate and he was working with a bank
He was ten years older than her
He came to strike up a conversation with her because he was bored and she looked bored
He was right
She was bored and was suffering through the party because she did not want to offend the person who invited her
He was good company
He made her laugh and took her mind off the party and other issues bothering her
Within a few minutes of being with him, it felt as if she had known him all her life
She was easy on the eyes and therefore attracted a lot of male attention
She knows the look in the eyes of men and could interpret and separate lust from like and genuine interest
She had never been the one to ask any man for his phone number before but by the time the party was over, her phone was out and she was taking his number
He was rich, classy, smooth, handsome, well-connected, wise, witty, clear-minded and purpose-driven
He was the kind of man anybody would do well to have in their circle of influence
All the way home she was thinking of him
When she got home, she excitedly sent him a message thanking him for the night and hoping he would keep in touch
He had her by her intestines and she didnt even know it
She had fallen for him
He replied to her message
He thanked her for bailing him out of boredom and keeping him enthralled throughout the day
He promised to call her as soon as he could
He called her the next day and told her he was in her school
He came to see her instead of talking to her on the phone
He took her to lunch and then they took a long walk and just talked
When they were done with their date, he began to walk away from her to his car
Her heart started pounding fearfully
She didn't want him to go
They had connected on levels that she did not even know she had
He fit right into the "life partner" category, the one!
And it was only the second time they would be together
The third time, she was the one who called him after several days of daydreaming about him to ask him if he was available the following weekend
She wanted to see his world
She needed to know if he was for real or catfishing
She told him she was free and wanted to spend some time away from campus
She said she was willing to stay in a friend's house close to him but she would like to have his address
He sent it to her
She lodged in a hotel close to his address
She visited him the next day which was a Saturday at home
She saw with her own eyes that he was single and unattached
She looked for all the signs
She had been in relationships with both single and married men before she met him
She considered herself an expert at detecting if someone was single or married
He was single
He was her final answer to the question of getting married or staying single
If he asked her to marry him, she would say yes immediately
She had never felt that way about anybody before
Later that afternoon, she forced the conversation the only way she could
He kept talking and being all nice but he did not make any move to have any physical contact or intimate moment with her
He was polite and distant, almost as if he was friend zoning her
She said, "Are you not sexually attracted to me?"
The question took him off guard but he adjusted quickly and started laughing nervously
He didn't reply, he just looked at her and lapsed into silence
This made her unsure of how he perceived the question
Did he think her too forward or she was throwing herself at him somehow?
He gave her the impression that he was liberal and open-minded
She hoped she didn't read him wrong
Suddenly he leaned toward her and kissed her
She gave everything to him
The key to her blouse, skirt, upper safe, and lower safe
She gave him all the contents of the safe and the safe itself
He took his time to take everything she offered
He was a meticulous lover
She expected the relationship to progress from there
It did but not in the direction she wanted
They did everything a happy couple would do for each other but he was determined never to get married
She didn't know she ought to ask a man if he was the marrying kind or not
Every time she talked about marriage, he would shake his head and change the subject
He gave her everything
She became his traveling companion, his best friend, his lover, his unofficial secretary, his advisor, and heart song
she had access to his laptops, his phones, his local and international documents, everything
She had a key to his apartment in Lagos and Port Harcourt
He took her to the studio apartment he owned in London and Paris which he uses for AirBnB whenever he was out of the country
He listed her as his next of kin on several documents
She would sometimes fill out sensitive documents for him so that all he had to do was append his signature
Sometimes she signed his hand
It was the best relationship anybody who had ever been in love could ever hope to have
She was essentially his wife in every vital way
He got her a job as soon as she graduated ensuring that she was independent of him financially
Encouraged her to save and even helped out members of her family who fell on hard times or needed anything he had to give
Her parents got to know about him and later got to know him
He was the only man in her life
The only man she ever wanted to be with
Ten years later, she was in her mid-thirties and nothing had changed
Her mother had called her to have the talk several times
Her father never bothered her about it but he was concerned even in silence
She tried everything she knew to convince him to marry her
He said he was not the marrying kind
She broke off the relationship but the first day without him felt like the moment a fish is taken out of the water
She was sure he would come for her, bend for her, make a compromise for her sake
They were too in love not to do much for each other
He didn't
He didn't date another babe or block her or throw tantrums
He just kept his nose in his job and if he cried about her leaving him, he kept his tears to himself
She joined a church and started searching for a husband
The church is obviously the first place to go
She felt if he saw her with someone else, he might be stirred to jealousy and do the right thing
She knew he was not made of iron and steel
He was a man and he loved her, of that she had no doubt
She wanted a wedding, she had dreamt of ot since she was born
She wanted a home, she wanted to have children
He gave her so many things but he denied her the very things she wanted and truly desired
She met new prospects but they were nothing compared to him
Sometimes she would call him in the middle of the night, crying
He would drive to her place and comfort her
He would move mountains and level valleys to give her temporary comfort
He refused to yield on the issue of marriage
She even offered to have children, even if it is just one child for him
He refused
Clearly, they do not want the same things in life
She knew he wouldn't bend or change his mind
She continued to search for alternatives but she still couldn't let him go
She kept telling herself she had invested too much in him for another babe to come into his life and get married to him in less than six months
She knew it could happen
That would really break her
So she kept an eye on him while looking for another match with her second eye
The redefinition of their relationship did not faze him
That she was having dates with other guys did not move him
He would call her whenever he needed her and she would run to him
She had moved out of his apartment and started trying to wean herself off him
When he is traveling abroad for the summer holidays, he buys her tickets and she goes with him
She just couldn't let go of those perks especially as he was offering them with no strings attached
Another three years went by
By this time she had dated many other guys but none of them got to the point of proposing to her before she broke things off
She went to see the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt for counseling
She told him everything that had happened
She also told him the man was no longer a lover, that the two of them had settled for friendship
She was closer to forty and he was a bit above fifty by this time
She still felt a strong desire to get married but to who?
She was worried she would not be able to have children at that age or that the children might have some issues because the quality of her eggs must have depreciated
She was worried she would live alone and die alone with nobody to love and care for her as he did
Even as friends, he was the only one person she was sure would drop everything he was doing and come rushing to her if she just sent him a smiley or any signal indicating she wanted him around
She didn't understand his fear of marriage and why her love for him could not break it
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt told her she must do what she believed was best for her
"Take a few days off, talk to the Holy Spirit about your situation, and listen to him. Whatever he tells you to do, if you do it, you will find yourself rejoicing in fulfillment in no time"
Her relationship with the Holy Spirit was just a few days old by this time
She had been a nominal Christian all her life before her situation made her turn to spirituality for succour
She took some days off as counselled
She spent them praying in tongues and reading her scriptures out loud
She had talking sessions with the Holy Spirit
She laid it all bare
On the fourth day, she got an email from a headhunter
A company in the United Kingdom requires her expertise and the pay is good
She had never considered living abroad
She felt this was something new and a change of environment may not be such a terrible idea
She said Yes
One month later, she left for London
It was an opportunity for her to start all over and she took it with both hands
She couldn't resist telling him about it
Hoping he would maybe tell her not to go and propose
She couldn't resist the longing for a miracle in that direction
It never happened
She got to the United Kingdom on a Saturday
She resumed at her desk two weeks later
Six weeks into the job, she met a guy
He asked to take her to lunch and she said yes
As soon as they sat down to their meal, he said "I am going to marry you"
She almost choked on her food
He meant it
They were married four months later
She was forty-one years old and he was thirty-eight
PS: I am happy to announce that they delivered their first child overnight
The baby came at 12:03 AM WAT
She said it was as if God recovered several years for her in the last year
She kept saying "Brother Gbenga, but you know, you know where i am coming from, you know my story, it is as if i am dreaming"
We must all learn to trust God early and not lean on our own understanding
We must learn to go to him and say "See, sir, see the mess I have made"
Children do it to their parents always and parents help their children to clean up their messes
The earlier we do this, the better for us
Especially as Born Again Christians

Balaam and The BBC
I knew the BBC was going to do a poor job of slandering the victim they chose to spit on recently in the name of doing a special report
Don't get me wrong, the subject they chose to do their expose on was a sorcerer
I had written about him and had several confrontations and arguments on social media about him while he was alive
I only stopped talking about him after he died because i know that like many other cultists before him, his legacy will continue until whatever he started becomes acceptable the same way some so-called Christian sects had survived having scandalous pioneers.
Till tomorrow, i cannot be convinced that any garment-wearing church truly belongs to the body of Christ
They may belong to a body, and that body may be big and thriving but i am very sure that body has nothing to do with Christ.
The reason i said this is simple; the process through which they dispense the verities of the supernatural is flawed and inconsistent with the instructions of Christ
What they call "spiritual work" which they do with all sorts of material mediums from candles to coconuts, to palm fronds, to stinking perfumes, incense, strange water prepared for people to drink, soaps for people to bathe, strange prophesies that compel so-called Christians to engage in diabolic activities akin to making pagan sacrifices and placing such at T-junctions in the name of getting a healing, a breakthrough and so on had nothing to do with the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus
Sometimes they go to the extent of killing animals, wrapping banana trees with white cloth, and burying it alive in order to save someone they believe would die from the jaws of death These pagan practices are backed by the use of the name of Jesus, strange demons and strange manifestations which ought not to be but had become accepted by those who don't know the word of God as a practical means of combating life issues over time proves that the gospel has nothing to do with their reality
These gatherings consist of ignorant people, acting as led by a few who know the truth but have come to accept the demonic practices and doctrines as a way of life
Internet fraudsters, drug barons, human traffickers, and other criminals flock to their pastors for spiritual work from all over the world
This is a known fact
How then can they be members of the body of Christ?
2 Corinthians 6: 15 "What harmony is there between Christ and Belial?"
The inability to preach the gospel of salvation to their members and get them filled with the Holy Spirit.
The sermons preached are empty words lacking transformative abilities and values
If you decide to do research on them, you will come to the conclusion that they do not practice the same doctrine that Jesus established in the Bible but you cannot call them frauds or scams or fakes in the light of staging miracles and lying about the impact their practices have on people.
If you will do a thorough and acceptable investigation, you have to do so by first acknowledging that they had access to powers that are not natural
This is the dilemma of the BBC
They didn't want to acknowledge that there is a God or that there is an entity called the devil
They didnt want to acknowledge that there were powers at work in that cult that could not be explained in a laboratory or by any natural means
If they did that they would have to admit that there is something called witchcraft, dark arts, sorcery, magic, malevolent force, demonic power, and evil spirit
If they acknowledge this, they will be forced to acknowledge that there is a Holy Spirit, benevolent Spirit, miracle-working power, anointing, the supernatural, the anointing, divine power, heaven, and God
It will be like doing a report on Superman but refusing to acknowledge he is from Krypton, refusing to acknowledge the source of his ability to fly, have laser eyes, and extraordinary strength
Any right-thinking reporter or journalist (I am a well-trained one with certificates and years of experience on the job) would have to ask the five fundamental questions when it comes to any topic:
Who did what
To Whom was it done
What was done
Why was it done (Motive)
Where was it done
How was it done
The BBC failed woefully to explain the How?
How was Jim IYKE made to say the things he said on camera in a church full of people despite the fact that he didn't believe or want to go to the church but for the desperation that came upon the family when his mother was sick
How was another woman made to say she was Lucifer and she had come to confront the sorcerer because he scattered her kingdom
How come that British lady kept saying "I kept saying that is not me but it was?"
How was he able to cover the consciousness and will of many under a shroud to the point that they lose their abilities to do their will and act according to the dictates of their own minds while in that space he called church
Jim Iyke in his interview said something like I do not claim to know everything, i acknowledge that there are powers in this world that are beyond the natural"
Why didn't the BBC talk about the "How" behind the atrocities of this modern-day Balaam?
I met a lady at a hospital when my first son was sick in 2012
They brought in a daughter who was ill with dysentery
Their daughter was sharing the same ward with my son
We got talking as parents and this woman told me she attended that church and after that, she lost her ability to think right for nine years
She talked about the zombie-like cloud that comes upon her even while she was asleep in her house that dragged her to see this Balaam and have sexual intercourse with him over and over again
I was a young Pastor at the time but i didnt find that story to be strange
When as a teenager i attended a white garment church because I wanted to date a girl who was attending the church and I refused to heed the warnings of my mother
I saw strange things in that cult
I saw a pretty lady who came to the church in the morning for prayers and by the evening of that day had become the wife of the prophet of the parish
The lady's husband heard she was in this church and came running like a prince to rescue his damsel in distress
When he saw the lady, the lady didn't recognize him
She was talking normally, and interacting with those around her normally but her mind had become blank when it came to her ability to make the right decisions for herself
This lady came to herself nine years later after she had given birth to four children for this prophet
Members of garment-wearing churches cannot deny that they had seen this play out severally in their churches
The Balaam that was investigated in death was a prophet among them for several years
I have written before about the activities of strange spirits, contracted to a human master who had come into covenant with them in exchange for fame and wealth and how such spirits would be deployed to put the ignorant, the prayerless, those not filled with the Holy Spirit under subjection to the extent of making them do whatever the one they serve wanted at will.
There was another lady whose story i had written some years ago
She was the PA to a prominent female preacher of the gospel before she met her husband who is from Delta State in Nigeria.
When the preacher died suddenly, this lady needed a job desperately and she got one with a Korean company as a marketer of their electronic and medical products in West Africa
The job was a good one and she made a lot of money
Her husband however was struggling financially and was supporting the lady by caring for the children and acting more or less like a house husband
The husband's mother came to the house to visit them and saw how their home was set up
She convinced her son that his wife must be using his glory or destiny for her wealth and fame because according to the order of God, the man ought to be the head of the woman
This woman was illiterate, she didnt think that her son didnt really go to school while this woman had a Masters degree
All she saw was that the traditional roles had been reversed in that family and to her that meant someone had done something evil
The woman told her son that he should change churches from the church where he met this lady to Balaam's church
Reluctantly the lady followed this man to this strange church
As soon as she stepped into that church, right in front of the camera during Balaam's ministration she stood up and began to "confess" that she was a Queen of the coast, an evil Spirit that rules over every man that comes into her sphere of influence
She said she slept around and was the reason her husband had never prospered
She said a lot of things, with her own mouth and on camera!
People love drama, Balaam gave them Drama!
Jesus never took away the dignity of any man or woman, he restored them back to the fullness of their glory which God gave them from the beginning
We were not given the Holy Spirit in order for us to label others and condemn them as witches, demon-possessed, and evil
If anyone was possessed, like Mary Magdalene, a Christian will set such free, minister the gospel to him or her, get him or her filled with the Holy Spirit, and convert such into an asset for the Kingdom of God, just as Jesus did for Mary of Magdala
The Bible says we are to reconcile all men to God as ambassadors of Christ
This lady did not even know what she did in church
When they got home her husband started acting strangely toward her
He was convinced she was a witch and if he should do anything to provoke her she would kill him!
So he played along and pretended to love and respect her for a year
In that year, he had published her obituary in a newspaper he knew she would never read and he had gone to the embassy to apply for a visa for himself and his daughters
One day she got home from work and he was gone with the children
She simply met an empty house
She almost ran mad
When her case was brought to me in 2016 and i heard her story, we prayed
Someone saw her husband in Canada and told someone else
The news got to her
She got his phone number and wrote to him that she was going to the embassy with lawyers to report the issue and have him deported
He replied by telling her, he would be long gone with the children to another country by the time she did that
I spoke to him and asked him what can be done to remedy the situation so that he can take his wife back and reconcile the children with their mother
He said she must go back to the Balaam's church, go through their deliverance session on TV, and get a clean bill of spiritual health from Balaam
Out of desperation the lady went to the church and volunteered to be a worker
All she wanted out of it was to get her family back
She developed a mental illness, lost her job, and became very unstable for a while
We dealt with that and she was healed by the power of the Holy Spirit
After that, she let go of the whole issue and began to pick up the pieces of her life
Balaam ruined too many lives
He did this through sorcery and dark arts
We must learn to call things what they are and not secularize things that are beyond the secular
BBC could have interviewed men of God with a proven understanding of what was happening to give them some insight
I know Pastor Chris Okotie spoke and wrote about it and so did some other knowledgeable ministers of the gospel
The reason BBC didn't do this was because they didn't want to acknowledge that there is a God
They could have spoken to Pastor Kumuyi or Pastor Adeboye
I know for sure Pastor Adeboye warned us not to associate with Balaam and he gave us reasons that I do not want to state here because it is not my story to tell
They didn't speak with Pastor Adeboye because they will consider that an endorsement of what he stands for and who he represents
They did a very bad job because they were not open-minded in their investigation
You cannot investigate a spiritual mishap with a secular scope
The approach they chose left too many people aware of what they already know or suspect but without any knowledge of what really happened and how it happened so that they can learn from it and not fall for it in the future
PS: When a sorcerer casts a spell over an environment
He creates a parallel reality that enables him to control all the elements in that reality and subject those caught in his or her web to the dictates of his or her will
A prophet can also do this
In 2 Kings 6:8-23, a group of soldiers were sent to arrest Elisha
He asked God to strike them with blindness
When you read it you will see that the soldiers saw him, spoke to him, and even went with him of their own accord to the King's palace.
They were not struck with physical blindness
Their ability to understand reality was taken away from them
They could have been killed and they would have died without a fight
The King came to Elisha with this proposal in 2 Kings 6:21 but Elisha rejected it
This spell was one of the dark arts deployed by Balaam through evil spirits to bewitch people and make them do whatever he wanted for the world to see and believe he had supernatural powers
It is nothing new, he learned it from the church where he was a prophet for many years and deployed it at the maximum capacity

The Light Must Lead
A phone call from his mother changed his life completely
He was the first son
He had three older sisters
The three of them were living in America
The first one got pregnant and sent for their mother to travel down to America and help her out with the baby
The mother got there and settled in
Every time he called her, she would say all is well
He had a younger brother
Together they navigated the waters of business unsuccessfully
He found himself in the clearing and forwarding business
Even though he studied business administration at the University
His younger brother was a musicologist
He had a music school where he taught people how to play various musical instruments
His father was a poor man, a teacher who worked hard for several years but had nothing to show for his years of labor
They were not a religious family
His father's short stint abroad as an exchange student in the '70s had such a great influence on him that he practically lived like he was a socialist even in Nigeria
He studied in East Germany and Russia for one year and two years respectively
It led to a complete change of orientation for him and by extension his family
Years down the line, their story was the same
A poor and bitter father who had nothing to show for his years of labour and sacrifice
A mother in the USA in her mid-sixties was helping her daughters raise their children
Three sisters in the USA, married to their husbands and trying to find their footing in a foreign country
He was happy they were not dirt-poor
As bad as things were, only his brother was in debt to the tune of 20 million Naira
Apart from that they were coping somehow
Then he went to visit a friend at Surulere
The friend invited him to a program held by the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
The Program was titled Shabach
The month was October 2020
It was a bit difficult to be in Nigeria and avoid religion completely
He decided he would go with his friend and see what all the noise was about
When they got there the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt talked about Changing the Spiritual Order in a family in order to
maximize Supernatural Inheritance in Christ
It was all strange talk to him
He heard what was being said but it really didn't sink into his depth
A month later, his mother called him
They were having a light conversation when he accidentally heard how his sister's husband spoke to his mother on the phone
It was a very disrespectful tone
He said "Mummy, are you the one Uncle So and So is talking
to like that?"
His mother said "Yes, I am the one they have turned to their housemaid in this house. Even their children whom i laboured to raise for the past fourteen years now talk down on me and treat me with disrespect. If not for shame, i would have packed my bags and returned to Nigeria but if i returned to Nigeria where would i live?
Your father is squatting with his mother at the mother
I am living at the mercy of your oldest sister
You are squatting with friends and your brother is also
squatting with friends
Your two other sisters are still battling immigration issues and are not yet fully settled in
So what am I supposed to do but endure?
You cannot imagine that your sister's husband has tried six times to find me a husband here
He didn't like the fact that i am living with them all these years
He sees me as a nuisance who has nowhere to go and he treats me that way
He is also teaching his children to treat me that way
Your sister has been stylishly telling me i need to get a job and move out of their matrimonial home because her husband is not comfortable with me around
it is true that i came here to nurse one child and i have stayed around long enough to nurse three
I have also become a citizen while staying here but at what age and what job can i do on my own that will sustain me here
I am a housemaid here, that is the truth, the only difference is I am not getting paid in cash at the end of the month
I am paid with insults daily and I am tired of it
Wow.
By the time his mother was done speaking, he was in tears
The woman suffered too much not to have respite in her own daughter's house
He understood how it looked to his sister's husband
And where the disrespect came from
He also realized that he had been living far below his potential
in life
He had become stoic like his father and adopted a cue sera sera mindset
He reached out to his friend
He wanted to have a one-on-one session with the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
He remembered the brother's teaching over a year ago
and how her guffawed at it at the time but the situation looked quite similar and he was determined to turn the tide
He got a phone number to call
They spoke for a while after he had sent him a whatsapp message
They met in November 2021
They had a brother-to-brother talk which led to his acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour
After he had given his life to Jesus and gotten filled with the Holy Spirit
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt said let me show you two scriptures
Daniel 5: The Writing on the Wall
5 King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles and drank wine with them. 2 While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father[a] had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them. 3 So they brought in the gold goblets that had been taken from the temple of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines drank from them. 4 As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.
5 Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote. 6 His face turned pale and he was so frightened that his legs became weak and his knees were knocking.
7 The king summoned the enchanters, astrologers[b] and diviners. Then he said to these wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”
8 Then all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant. 9 So King Belshazzar became even more terrified and his face grew more pale. His nobles were baffled.
10 The queen,[c] hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. “May the king live forever!” she said. “Don’t be alarmed! Don’t look so pale! 11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners. 12 He did this because Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”
13 So Daniel was brought before the king, and the king said to him, “Are you Daniel, one of the exiles my father the king brought from Judah? 14 I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you and that you have insight, intelligence and outstanding wisdom. 15 The wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this writing and tell me what it means, but they could not explain it. 16 Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve difficult problems. If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”
17 Then Daniel answered the king, “You may keep your gifts for yourself and give your rewards to someone else. Nevertheless, I will read the writing for the king and tell him what it means.
18 “Your Majesty, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor. 19 Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled. 20 But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory. 21 He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like the ox; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes.
22 “But you, Belshazzar, his son,[d] have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this. 23 Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways. 24 Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription.
25 “This is the inscription that was written:
mene, mene, tekel, parsin
26 “Here is what these words mean:
Mene[e]: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
27 Tekel[f]: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
28 Peres[g]: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
29 Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom.
30 That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians,[h] was slain, 31 and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.[i]
Mathew 5: 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
After they had read the Scriptures out loud together, the Brother in Jeans and T-shrit said "You are the first born again Christian in your family, this automatically makes you the head of the family now. The leaders you had before which are your parents and older siblings have done their administration the best way they can and it has not brought the family joy
Now it is your turn to take over and rule with fairness and equity
When you do this, the family will give their lives to Jesus and everybody's life will be transformed.
The leadership of your parents and older siblings has been weighted and measured and found wanting
The government has been stripped off from their shoulders and given to you because you represent Christ and Christ rules and reigns over all things
You cannot be the light and hide under a bushel or be led by the nose by any other power or entity
This is the only way you can lead your family out of this situation.
He understood
He couldn't say how but he got it
When he got home, he made a plan to build a house where his parents would live in Nigeria
It was a race against time for him because he didn't want his mother to be held responsible for the crash of his sister's marriage
What he heard made him feel this might be close to happening
He went to visit his father in the village
He prayed with his father and blessed him
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt had told him that the one in Christ is higher and greater than anyone in the flesh
Regardless of age
He visited his younger brother too and blessed him
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt had told him to look at Joseph
The 11th child and yet the one ordained by God to lead his siblings, family, and the world out of certain death
After praying with his father and brother, he and his friend
Started an online business
He handled the marketing aspect of the business while his
friend handled the technical aspect of the business
Somehow, with ease, the business became a success
He built a house within a year and sent his mother a flight ticket to return her home
Within that same time, his father got involved with the local government's rural education drive in their village and was
appointed as one of the community representatives with the oil
companies working in their village
Somehow, his father also built a house in the village that year
His younger brother paid off his debt and began to prosper too
By October 2023, they had two houses in the family
He had gotten married and given birth to a son
His mother had returned home from America
The marriage of his parents had been restored
His oldest sister and her husband had gotten a divorce and sorted out their messy marriage
His other two sisters had become citizens and well-established in the USA
It is true that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Proverbs 29:2
PS: It has been a year and the testimony of Brother Azubuike Collins is a joy to share
I was teaching the students of PSSBC school 19 something on Mene Mene Tekel Upharshin yesterday night
Brother Azu was in the class and he decided to send this testimony after the class to buttress some of the things I taught
It is important to know how to apply the word of God in a manner that would make it produce the right result in your life
It is good to pray and make declarations but where you are the light and you are still being led by darkness you won't produce any result
You cannot put the mundane above the spiritual, what is flesh is flesh, and what is spirit is spirit!
He that is from above is above all, please dont forget this
Finally, under your rulership, the light shall spread all over
Every member of Brother Azubuike Collin's family is now born again
He did not have to force anyone to accept the Lord
They saw the result and came to partake of the bread of life willingly
Hope you learned something

Wait, Don't stone Me Yet!
There are some truths that needed to be said
The problem usually is who will bell the cat
Who has the clout or the heart, to tell the truth to someone who might be hurt by it but to whom the truth will be invaluable and useful?
Who will tell a lady she cannot compare herself to her friends or her nature to that of her friends?
Who will tell a man or woman that because of the peculiarity of his or her circumstances, he should not try to arrive at the same results as his mates using the same means?
My father wanted me to be a doctor
I didn't have the brains for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
He insisted all i had to do was apply myself and i would be the best in those subjects as i have always been
He changed my school, made me repeat SS1, and i found myself in Science class
I had all the textbooks and very good teachers
I still didn't understand what chemistry, physics, and mathematics were all about
I was always failing those subjects
When i got to SS3, i had saved enough money to buy a GCE form
I filled in Government, Christian Religious Studies, Literature, and other art subjects
I borrowed textbooks from my friends and classmates
I sat for the examination and passed excellently
When i got the result i sent it to my Father
Then the WAEC result came out and i failed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as usual
He understood what i had done and he let me be
You cannot force someone to become what they are not equipped to be
I have a sister who had a boyfriend
This brother is a very good cook, a good driver, and had a very caring nature
He was married to a lady long before he met this sister but this lady was unhappy that her husband was good at doing feminine stuff
How can a man be in the kitchen all day? When his friends were making millions out there?
She gave him so much grief but he couldn't change who he was
Eventually, she left him and was given custody of their only child
He left Kaduna and relocated to Lagos
Two years later she met this sister who employed him as her personal Uber driver
He takes her to work and brings her back home every day
This sister is a very good nurse
Her work was in shifts and she couldn't play the domestic wife role for any man
While working she was also studying to improve herself
She and her Uber driver got talking and one thing led to the other
She liked him and he liked her too but he was not saying anything regarding a relationship or marrying her
He told her he had discovered that most women want a man who is out there making money but his strength was in the kitchen
He hated driving Uber
It was because he left Kaduna that he resorted to that to make ends meet
He loves cooking, while he was in Kaduna he took on massive catering jobs and executed the jobs excellently well
He did it for fun and didn't think of commercializing it
His church members then ran to him for help whenever there was an occasion involving cooking and he helped them out
He knew his strength but he was not going to get married to a woman who would insist that he should start doing something else that would soothe her image or agenda
He had told himself the truth
This is who I am and whoever will be with me must accept me for my strength and not try to change me into someone else
This sister had listened to him talk over and over about the way he was and how he was perceived as not being man enough by his ex-wife
She wanted to be with him and waited for months for him to ask her out
He didn't
She started processing her relocation to the UK as a nurse
When she got her visa, she called him and said "We started out as client and customer but we have become friends and I believe I have come to love you and would like to keep this relationship forever
However, I am relocating to the UK, and forever may become never unless you come and marry me.
He got the message while driving another client to the airport
He dropped the client and called his family members
He married her a month later
They are both in the United Kingdom now
He cooks, she manages his cooking business and they are doing quite well
I named their miracle baby last year and their marriage is a very good one
I have seen marriages that failed, not because either of the parties were evil or bad but because of unreasonable expectations or principles
A wife buys a house and her husband says he cannot live in a house owned by a woman
They were paying 5000 dollars a year to rent the basement apartment they were living in in the Bronx
She got a job in Texas and bought a house that the mortgage cost her 10,000 dollars a year
Pragmatically, she had made the right decision
Sentimentally, he made the decision that led to serious issues for him within six months
Without her income, he couldn't pay rent
He got served divorce papers a few months later
He refused to sign and yet he didn't see the need to make amends by going back to his family
Sentiments aside, his wife made the right decision
They had been in New York for years and they were practically living from hands to mouth
He didn't want to leave because all his friends were in New York and he had a social life there
One must learn to make practical decisions
The same goes for relationships and picking a spouse
Many of us assume that "eros" is everything when it comes to marriage
This is so untrue
There are ugly people
There are damaged people
There are hurting people
There are abused people
There are unlucky people
Then there are normal people
We all cannot be the same and therefore we should not insist on everybody walking on the same path
It is preposterous in my opinion and I am not wrong
A woman gave birth to two girls
One is beautiful and was attracting boys and men from her teen years
The other is ugly and couldn't attract even female friends
The ugly one was the older one
The beautiful one was the younger one
A serious suitor came for the younger one
Their mother got worried that if the younger one got married the older one would be left on the shelf
Their mother called their father and lamented about this
Their father called the older sister and told her the practical truth
You are ugly
You have shifty eyes and nobody will marry you based on your looks
You can cook and you will make a good mother but men are not attracted by those qualities on the surface
Men love beauty and you lack it
You will not have a marriage based on love and affection
You may want those things but they will never come
But you are a woman and a man will find you soft and luscious when he sleeps with you
You may not be much to look at in public but in the bedroom, when the blinds are down and the light is out, you will finish any man when you are naked
So get into the room on your sister's wedding night and wait
Then the father went to the beautiful sister and told her to please forget about this suitor as others would come for her and her sister needed all the help she could get to become a mother, and then maybe a wife
The beautiful sister agreed
On the wedding day, the father piled the groom with a lot of wine until he was very drunk
He then put him in the room with the ugly sister
As predicted, ugliness is in the face
The naked body of any full-grown woman is enough to make any man weak at the knees
The husband slept with this ugly lady several times
She didnt make an issue of it
She made the sex memorable because that was how she could make him come back to her bed the next day
When it was morning, Jacob saw that he had slept with Leah and not Rachel
He protested
Laban explained to him the peculiarity of his circumstances as a father
"I am sorry but i did that because i wanted both my daughters to be happy"
Jacob understood
Jacob never loved Leah throughout his life but he kept going back to her bed and slept with her much more than he slept with Rachel after he eventually married Rachel
Laban was a very pragmatic man
Many parents have forgotten how to be pragmatic in today's world
If a child cannot help himself or herself, it is the duty of the elders at the city gate or the parents to help the child sort out the issues he or she is facing in life
It was at the city gate that the issue of Ruth was sorted out
I am not asking that parents force their children into marriages or relationships when they do not want one
I have a daughter, she is beautiful
I will do everything to prepare her for a great future and I will stand by her decision as she grows older regarding relationships, marriage, and so on
If she wants to be single, i will never bug her about marriage
but if she wants to be married, nothing will stop her from getting married when she desires to
If she is not beautiful, i will never worry about her getting a husband or having children
I will prepare her for a life of independence and i will tame that tendency to seek validation and love from men
i will tell her not to worry about a thing
I will marry for her a husband or a man, he will produce children through her
I will put a stupendous amount in a trust fund for her and this man for as long as they are together
I will also ensure that the two of them have something useful that they are good at and can do to make their lives meaningful
I will not ask a bad product to go into the market and sell itself
I will not pray and fast and rend the heavens on the issue
I will package a bad product and encourage customers to buy it with a lot of incentives
I will temper my expectations and hope for the best
I know this is not a Romeo and Juliet circumstances
The man may even be cheating on her for his own pleasure
I will prepare her mind for this and i will protect her from any physical harm or danger
She will have to learn to be grateful for how I have helped her shape her life and destiny
I will do the same thing for a son of mine who finds himself in a situation in which he can't attract a wife or marry one by himself
As long as he is not impotent, i will do whatever will make his life fruitful and happy
I will also not do this selfishly in such a manner that the woman coming into his life or bearing his children will not be uncompensated as he or she ought to be
Some relationships are natural, and some are transactional
Some are whatever you make of them
I know this truth to be self-evident.
If a man/woman loves your son/daughter but he does not have a job, please get him/her a job
Don't rob your son or daughter of joy based on a problem you can solve or some sentimental issues that really do not matter in the long run
Do everything to protect your daughter or son's joy and happiness in this life
Prepare your son or daughter for the life ahead
Your goal is to make everybody happy
Please do this!
What i have written here will make some people very angry, to those ones, i am saying "sorry"
I have written nothing new that is not being practiced all over the world
I just find the hypocrisy in the so-called "Christian" world unnecessary in this regard
So many churches are filled with people looking for life partners
Most of them are unfit to be married or have gone through serious traumatic issues that have altered them somehow and instead of being pragmatic and making the right choices, everybody is waiting for Prince Charming or Princess Beauty
I watched the movie "Pretty Woman" recently and i laughed at the part where she said she wanted all or nothing!
In real life, she would take what the man offered with thanksgiving and serious celebrations
Nobody is telling them the truth about how to find fulfillment regarding those issues by being pragmatic
Everybody wants to be on the poster as the 56-year-old virgin who got married at last with the caption "It is never too late"
Being single is a beautiful thing if this is by choice
Being married is a beautiful thing if this is by choice
Being married and in love is a wonderful thing between a man and a woman
Being fulfilled however, is the ultimate thing in life
As fingers are not equal, so will people's life situations not be equal
We must make the best of decisions while approaching life in a pragmatic manner in this season
PS: I have just delivered the most difficult prophecy for 2024
The article above is it
I have a way of delivering prophesies that many do not see or know until they begin to apply it
I also have things that i write to address one or many situations at once
You must be very discerning to read my thoughts and get the best out of it
I know how poor people think
I also know how rich people think
It is not right for rich people to think like poor people
You are not a commoner
You are royalty
Act like it

No Smoke without Fire
I had a friend called Kabiru
He is from a town in Osun State
We attended a boarding school together between 1995 and 1998
We shared the same bunk for two years
His father lived and worked in both the Ivory Coast and Nigeria
His father sold motor-cycle spare parts
His family house is just behind Olode Cinema in the community he lived in
I regarded him as a brother and friend
I was fifteen when I met him
He was a Muslim and I was a Christian
We had two other close friends, Gbenga and Shina
The four of us did a lot of great things together
There was no way I would think of my past without his name coming up one way or the other
The boarding school unsettled me in so many ways
I realised after my first term in a boarding house (I joined them in SS 1) that i needed the freedom of the boarding house for my sanity
I was being raised at home by a single mother (My Father was then abroad and had gone incommunicado because of some life challenges he was dealing with at the time)
Things were very tough at home and I was helpless in many ways
I hate being helpless or lacking the power to do what I know must be done
I started traveling with Kabir back to his town instead of returning home to my family
His family offered a roof over my head and free food
We were young at the time and adventurous
We used to donate blood once or twice a month at a hospital in that town at 400 Naira per pint
This blood donation money was a big deal to us then
We did it to buy the basic things we needed to survive
Academically, Kabir was a bit challenged
He could neither speak nor write English correctly
Even though he had an exquisite handwriting
He had to cheat to pass exams
And I must confess I aided and abetted him in this regard
He would get angry if you dont allow him to copy your answers whenever he had a test and could sulk for days or turn violent when we got back to the hostel
He was in my class and we shared the same desk
I was not prone to violence, he was
In his community, everybody must respect their elders
and if you call somebody by his name without adding "brother" to it as a sign of respect, you will get a beating or at worst find yourself in a fight with him and his pack or age-grade members
Boys were always fighting for respect
Those of the same age ranking flock together early so that they use that to gauge those they must respect and those who must respect them
Kabiru was two years older than me but I was not from his community so I called him by his name
We all did and he didnt like this
He would often remind us he was older than us and demand that we respect him but we couldn't because we met in the boarding school, were in the same class, and didn't share the same values he grew up with
It was when i went to his town and saw the dynamics of their age grading system that I understood why he was bullying us to call him "Brother" when we were in school
I practically became a blood brother to Kabiru
His father adopted me unofficially because i added value to Kabiru's life
I speak good English and Kabiru told his father I helped him with his academics
Kabiru's father gave me my first Koran and a Muslim name
They even taught me how to pray the Muslim way
Till tomorrow. Kabiru and those i knew those days long ago still address me as Olumide Sowemimo, they disregarded the fact that i chose not to bear the name again out of choice and as a statement that a man can make his own way in life without the benefit or baggage of the past
As I said, I spent most of my holidays with him and we shared the same bunk in school
Something strange happened in the year 2002
A club in Kabiru's town wanted to throw a party
They invited a "big" musician called Dauda Epo Akara
The man was a local star who sang Awurebe music
(A local Yoruba music genre that died with him some years later)
The transporter's association and the butcher's associations in the town heard about this all-night party and decided to crash the party
The organizers of the party were a club
The party was done on the street in front of Olode Cinema
The club didn't want any uninvited guests coming to their party
The transporters decided they must attend
The butchers decided they must attend
The party organizers protested
This led to a fight
The party venue became a battleground
Unfortunately, this party was held right on the main street leading to Kabiru's house
We were attracted to the party because it offered free food and some other things that young men love to indulge in at the time
I was at the party with Kabiru and seven other guys who are members of his age grade
Master (Short and had a smiling face), Beta (Told dry jokes and always comes us with riddles and also a Keggite who composed many local Keggite songs), Oba (Went into tailoring later), Kamar (Son of the local wood dealer who also worked at the sawmill to raise his daily bread), Alayo (a mathematics genius) Alonzo, (Older than us and smokes weed like a chimney)
When the fight broke out and we saw machetes and charms and local guns being pulled out and used, we ran for our dear lives
All the musical equipment of the musicians and all the lighting equipment were destroyed
Ladies who didn't take a cue to run on time were brutalized
Cyroma, the main musician from that town who was married to over twenty wives and had his office on the topmost floor of Olode Cinema, and his boys were also at the party
These were guys who accepted me as one of their own in those days
They were not elite or even enlightened
Most of them were non-literate
If i told anyone I once fitted into that setting like gloves to a hand, there would be serious doubts
That night, we all ran into Kabiru's Daddy's house, locked the door behind us, and while we were yet panting we started talking about the fight, who got injured, how we escaped, and what was still going on in the street
Then out of the blue, one of the guys, the Kamar guy, said "Hey guys, see, this is an opportunity for us to get rid of the Christians in this town. Today is Friday and they are having a vigil. Let us go there, beat the men, and rape the girls
Let us teach them a lesson that they will never forget
Everybody will think they were victims of the fight going on in the street and we will be able to carry out the will of God"
It was as if he pressed a button in everybody's head
Nobody questioned him or even laughed about it
Everybody in the room agreed with him and they began to pick the weapons they would use
Sticks, machetes, bottles etc
They began to talk about what they would do with what they picked too in a typical Yoruba fight fashion
"Mo ma f'ogi mo pastor yen lori" meaning "I will crack the pastor's head with this stick"
"Mo ma fi patepete ada na awon omo soosi yen"
"I will use the flat end of the machete to beat the children in the church"
Things like that...
I was shocked to the marrow
I was born a Christian and these were the people i had somehow become brothers with
When they were ready to move (i went with them because I didn't want to draw attention to the fact that I am a Christian so that they dont kill me)
All the while I was praying (I was not a born-again Christian at the time and I really didn't care for prayer) but i remembered the Lord on this day of evil
I made a solemn promise that if the Lord would spare my life and the life of those church folks, i would pack my bags and return home to my mother
I also promised that i would be a good boy and stay at home regardless of what the situation is when i get there
I was literally quaking with fear
We got on the street at about 4AM
The streets were pitch dark and some of the thugs were still fighting and hacking themselves to bits
We got to the church and thankfully the commotion had gotten to them and they had cut short the vigil
The door of the church was firmly locked
I heaved a sigh of relief
The boys started lamenting that we didn't move on time
We returned to Kabiru's house and slept
When it was morning, I woke up and packed my bags
They asked me where i was going and I told them i felt a need to see my mother
They tried very hard to dissuade me from traveling but i stood my ground
I left at about 10AM and I never looked back
I threw the friendship into the trash can
Kabiru tried reaching out several times after this
We saw each other at the Polytechnic Ibadan when he gained admission to study civil engineering with a fake WAEC result
He left after a few months for Belgium and reached out to me several times from Belgium
He still tries reaching out on Facebook Messenger once in a while
I ignore him and can never see myself as a friend of his again
Recently, one of our secondary schoolmates who lives in Ogbomosho reached out to me to help him out with the school fees of his daughter who just gained admission into a federal government college
I did
The friend then called Kabiru and asked him to thank me on his behalf
That was when Kabiru got back on my case on Facebook messenger
I continued to ignore him.
I ignored him because i knew him but I had never seen the version of him that came out that fateful day before
That was not my friend
That seemed to me like someone who had been programmed or brainwashed to act in a certain way in the name of religion
If i cannot reason with you, you cannot be my friend
I write this story because I believe religion shouldn't make us behave in a certain manner
It should make us love our fellow human beings and respect them too
We shouldn't see people as unworthy of love, life, or affection just because they practice a different religion from our own
I have never been in a Christian setting or meeting in my life where any group took up arms in the name of killing Muslims or unbelievers generally
I have seen indigenes rise up against cultists in Eruwa
I have seen Christians raise an altar of prayer against political oppression or even territorial oppression but i have never seen a Christian gathering that had a set agenda to foment violence on another religion before in my life
I have never seen Christians killing anyone for blasphemy, for holding or burning a bible, for drawing a picture of Jesus, for entering a church and shouting the name of another religious figure, or for any other reason for that matter
I once went preaching in Lagos, at 5AM, and those early morning cries and i found myself close to a mosque, they came out intending to harm me and i had to flee for my life
(I agree i should have been more mindful of where I am and not go poking the bear. I was young then and naive)
I do not write to abuse or condemn, i wrote this to draw our attention as a nation to the belief systems that have been touted as approved by God but which i know had nothing to do with God.
We should change this mindset, change the teachings, and embrace tolerance and love.
It is not in vain that Apostle Paul asked that we pray to God to deliver us from wicked and unreasonable men who have no faith 2 Thessalonians 3:2
PS: Let us take time to bless the Lord today for the gift of 2023
It was an awesome year
Let us commit the agenda of men for 2024 into God's hand, declaring that only the counsel of God will come to pass
Let us declare the plan of God for His church and the body of Christ shall come to pass expressly and without any resistance from the world of men
I declare the coming days shall be days of great blessings and glorious testimonies for you and your family in Jesus name. Amen
Honour is a Code
When God instructed us to honour our father and mother, he added to it the result of doing as he had instructed, He said this is the code to living a long and healthy life
God didn't tell us to judge our parents and honour them according to how good they are to us
God didn't ask us to use a morality scale to determine whether our parents are worth honouring or worthy of dishonour
Even if your parents are established witches and wizards, you were told to honour them
Honouring your parents does not mean obeying them
These are two different things
If your father asked you to do something and you know it is not the right thing to do, God did not ask us to do whatever they said simply because we must honour them
You will tell your father you cannot do it and yet you will honour your father
This is where you establish the traits of your own character
Parents know their children and they come to respect their children based on their children's character
A child who has no mind of his own is not a joy to any parent
A child who can make firm decisions and who has the maturity to weigh such decisions, take them, and face the consequences without the parent's input is considered matured
Especially when those decisions bring the child into a level of advancement and success over and over again
A child who mistakes honour for blind loyalty will soon discover that he or she is lacking in original ideas and therefore will not be consulted when key decisions are to be made in the family
The father or mother will say "What i say is what so and so will do, so the only one we need to consult with is such and such because we know that one does not agree with our position on any matter unless we present it this way and convince him or her to buy into our decision"
Parents learn to honour wise children over time but they also learn to be disappointed in unwise children over time
They may mask it but it is always evident
No matter how successful your parents are in life, they expect you to be able to step out of their shadows and make your own indelible marks on the sands of time
It is true that responsible parents are easier to honour than irresponsible parents, and it is also true that successful parents are easier to honour than unsuccessful parents, if we will do as instructed by God regardless of the circumstances our parents find themselves in, we will unwittingly be inputting codes into our own lives that will lend unto us the wisdom to live a long and meaningful life
Many of us would rather honour our "Spiritual" leaders than our earthly parents
I have heard a man of God state categorically that spiritual parents are more important than biological parents because if your biological father curses you, your spiritual father can remove the curse from your head
This is not true
If you are a born again Christian, nobody can curse you
It is forbidden!
1 Corinthians 15:45 So it is written, "The First Adam became a living soul, the last Adam, A life-giving Spirit"
Your birth through your parents made you a living soul
Your birth through the Holy Spirit into Christ made you a life-giving Spirit
Adam couldn't bless or curse Jesus
Jesus was the Superior reality
Abraham can bless Isaac but Abraham couldn't bless Jesus
Jesus said before Abraham, I am
You are of the Spirit of "I Am"
The lesser cannot curse the greater
A living soul cannot curse a life-giving Spirit
Let me say that again and with emphasis
"No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper and every "Tongue" that shall rise against you in judgment, you must condemn" was not written in the scripture as word fillers
When you read the encounter of Balaam against Israel you will see that an angel was assigned to protect/watch over the blessing of God upon Israel to such a degree that when this sorcerer wanted to curse Israel, the angel didn't allow it.
It is in your Bible, boldly written as an example and instruction for you, so that you will stop believing rubbish and know what being a believer has made you
You cannot be cursed by your parents or anybody else for that matter once you come into Christ
The environment of Christ is blessed and only benevolent realities thrive there
However, if you dont know this to be true you will be running helter-skelter because your father or mother said something untoward to you
I met a pastor once who came to me crying that he didn't prosper in life because his father didn't bless him before he died, this pastor came to ask me if i could take him to three elderly pastors to lay hands on him and bless him so that he can become prosperous
Wow!
Such carnal thinking for someone who is supposed to be spiritual
He wanted three elderly strangers to pray for him because the one who gave birth to him didn't do so before he died, forgetting that in John 17, Jesus already gave the glory God gave to him to those who will become born again and come into the reality of the gospel free of charge
I realise for a fact that many of us read the Bible but we do not take the words written in it as true and applicable to us
This is a pity because it means we will continue to wallow in ignorance instead of growing in knowledge
I have heard stories of parents who did voodoo against their own children in one form or the other, to the extent that even after the child/children got born again the voodoo was still effective
When i hear such stories, i simply ask myself what sort of "born again" that child became. Was he a mental born again or did he or she have a true spiritual or supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit
Such realities are simply a product of a dual mindset
One who has given his or her life to Christ but who has not fully yielded to the rulership of the Holy Spirit in his or her reality.
I cannot count the number of born-again Christians who met with me and their mother who was a witch or their father who was a cultist immediately surrendered their lives to Jesus or in some unfortunate cases died
This does not mean i have a special anointing that ought to be celebrated above that of other believers, it simply means they came to know the truth of who they are in the Spirit by their contact with me
One of the things I personally dislike is watching a believer running in circles in the name of seeking a breakthrough in life when i know that Jesus had already broken through for the same but he or she just lacked the ability to see the truth and walk in it
You should not honour any Man of God above your parents
You should not honour any Man of God above your husband
You should not honour any man of God above your wife
You should not honour any Man of God above yourself
It is the same spirit that is in you and that man of God
His Holy Spirit and yours are the same measure
He might have seniority in knowledge, and for that, you owe him or her a level of respect but he or she is not superior to your parents
The same way a parent's counsel can be wrong is the same way the counsel of a man of God can be wrong
There are too many destinies set on wrong courses by the words of many so-called men and women of God
Parents set destinies on the wrong courses too for the same reason
The destiny that is being set on a course must have its own sense and determine that he or she will fulfill purpose in Christ and not be tossed here and there by either parents, mentors, Men or women of God, or friends
May your destiny not be a gullible one that can be pushed anywhere simply because you don't know how to think for yourself
When a child comes to know the gospel and the liberty it gives through the Spirit, he or she becomes empowered to bring the same gospel to members of His or her family
Your result speaks a lot more than your arguments and debates
If you are going to shift the opinion of people in any direction, you have to do it through the gaze and the opinion of others much more than the opinion of the ones who have already formed an opinion about you
Jesus built a reputation with those who didn't know him that he might change the opinion of those who knew him
Members of your family know you and have a certain opinion of you, you can only change that by building a reputation for yourself that speaks of you in a light they have never seen before
This is how to make your gospel effective
It is a great thing when a son or daughter earns the respect of his or her parent based on his or her ability to make decisions without their input
A child whose parents are still directing the affairs of his or her life directly in his or her twenties is already dishonouring his or her parents by not developing a mind of his or her own
You have nothing to gain by being a carbon copy of a relic, you are supposed to be the New Edition!
Respect everyone
Honour your parents
Be humble but not gullible
Build a reputation that speaks for you
Know who you are in Christ and live in this reality
Live a meaningful life
Live the eternal life.
PS: There is a sun that has risen but it's cycle is quarterly
There is a lot happening at this time in the world and in the body of Christ
The coming year is a year of positioning
You must not miss the rising of this sun at any time
Be spiritually sensitive
Pray in the Holy Ghost and abide in the reality of the light
Be conscious and sensitive
These are the markers for feasts of glory
You are the one with the advantage
Christ is your advantage
Revel in this!
-GSW-
He Came To Set The Captives Free
GSW's Christmas message
I remember when I had to ask the Lord what i was doing wrong about five years ago
I was anointed and the evidence was there for all to see
I was a PA at a church at the time and I was working with the Assistant Provincial Pastor of that church
The gospel had started showing forth the reality of the power of God in my life
I had raised several people from the dead and miracles had become the norm for me
At the office where I was working at the time, a crowd would come in from Monday to Saturday to speak with me and receive their miracles
It got so glorious that the provincial office had to give me the option of meeting with people at the teen's church inside the provincial office's compound during the week
I was employed as a Personal Assistant but i was doing ministry work full-time or most of the time
I got invitations at that time to minister in Kwara, Peculiar Gospel Ministry, Abule Egba, Magodo, Gbagada, RCCG Camp (Not by the ministry but by a parish) and so many other places
I was at the time dispensing the verities of the gospel all by myself
I was teaching the gospel too
PSSBC had started and I was teaching believers how to live this victorious life and work out our salvation with the evidence of the power of the Holy Spirit being made manifest in us
The local parish i was attending was not left out
RCCG Christ Covenant Parish in Ogudu, Lagos State
We started Night of Glory and people showed up from all over the world for our services
The miracles that happened in that church were monumental
They brought a lady to the church straight out of the hospital, she had completed her chemotherapy but the cancer she had just kept spreading, the doctors said the family had to raise the fund for radiotherapy, the sickness had drained them of their resources, they heard about Night of Glory and decided to bring her on a stretcher
I remember calling OD, a Pastor I met on Facebook who had written that God was doing mighty miracles through him and inviting him for the program, specifically because i knew they were bringing this sick lady and I felt his anointing should bring her back from the brink of death since I was still growing in it
On the day of the service, Pastor OD preached and taught church members how to heal the sick but he refused to pray for this lady
Right in the presence of the whole church, he said "I am not praying for her, this one is on you"
So i laid hands on her while the choir worshipped the Lord with the fruit of their lips
The lady was completely healed
She came to our church on Sunday wearing a blue gown, everywhere scattered
Even my Parish Pastor at the time started looking at me like "What is going on here"
The church could seat 100 but we ended up getting canopies and begging banks and other offices on Ogudu Road to lend us their parking spaces whenever we had a program
It was a small church but mighty men and women from all walks of life came there to hear the word and grow in their walk with the Holy Spirit
The way the power of the Holy Spirit was working at the time, awed me always
But i was poor
I can't pretend that i understood why that was the case
I turned to the Lord and begged for answers
How come i still can't fuel my car or afford to pay my children's school fees comfortably
How come i couldn't pay the rent
Since i grew up in church, i witnessed a lot of this reality
Many mighty men of God that i knew and worked with struggled with financial independence
I know some who would go visit their church members' shops and offices under the pretense of praying for them so that those church members could give them some money after prayer with which they would feed their families or meet other needs
One of them really blessed me just after I graduated from the university, he is an anointed minister of the gospel but poverty was a stronghold he couldn't break over his life
I didn't want to be in that same mold
I wanted to be blessed and I didn't want to resort to gimmicks and lies in order to get people to be a blessing to me
I didnt want to tell those who had received eternal life that they were robbers if they dont pay their tithe and that because of that they would go to hell
The gospel I know and received didn't place any other condition on believers other than to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior and be eternally saved
I have always contested with many on the gimmicks many ministers of the gospel had to resort to in order to extort members of their hard-earned money in the name of seed sowing, covenant giving, first fruit, tithe, offering and special seeds or breakthrough seeds
I didn't want to do anything for survival that would negate the reality of the gospel which i know to be true and absolute
When I asked the Lord about being blessed supernaturally by the Spirit, he asked me to do just one thing
He said "All those who come to you for prayers, whenever they were leaving your office, give them transport fare. lunch money, buy them lunch etc
Be the giver!"
It was the first time i will ever hear that
When I shared this with my colleagues in the office (Many of them are pastors) they laughed at me
They said I was being arrogant
One said "When you win a soul, you win his pocket and you must not be sorry to milk it to your advantage"
It was a pathetic idea
I know that the Lord is the one with the cattle on a thousand hills and that he is not limited in his capacity to bless his children if they will trust in Him
The idea of fleecing the sheep of God not only seemed preposterous to me, it was also ridiculous
He who the son has set free is supposed to be free indeed
How can someone become born again, get filled with the Holy Spirit based on the perfect sacrifice Jesus made on the cross by giving his life for us, and then have to kill a goat or offer money in order for him to be delivered from the power of darkness
I find the idea to be anti-gospel
It is either we get born again and receive the Zoe life or not
There should be no other sacrifice apart from that which had already been made on the cross
I didnt listen to them
In fact, many who would come to me to say thank you for their miracles brought offering envelopes as a form of gratitude, but i rejected it
If they insisted and dropped it, i refused to touch it
My colleagues shared whatever it was
I never bothered to ask them to tell me how much was there
It was not what i wanted
I know there are treasure boxes in heaven and access to divine blessings that no man can truly explain
I decided to obey God
I was earning 60,000 Naira salary per month at the time
I started giving those who came to see me for prayer and counseling 3000 Naira each whenever they were done and leaving my office
For some, I ordered Uber to take them back to their destinations so that they didn't have to pay
That first month, when i exhausted my pay, i realized i still had money in my account somehow
I couldn't explain it but i had funds
Angels didn't provide it directly, it came from two fellow believers who the Lord touched from afar
They sent 50,000 naira each to my account and i was able to meet the needs of those who came around throughout that month
The Lord said to me "Give, that is your access code to the vault of my blessings"
I kept giving and I suddenly became blessed in an unusual manner
I mean I couldn't explain it but it got to a point that I forgot how much my salary was and when it was paid
I had more than enough at all times to the extent that I started building a house by faith and I completed the building in eight months
We also started building churches, not for me or my ministry (I didn't have a ministry to head at that time) but for pastors who came to me to solicit financial support
In a year we built 13 churches and we dropped the keys for the pastors and asked for nothing in return
We built both in Nigeria and abroad to the glory of God
Somehow in all this, the ministry started
I didn't have a particular name for the ministry, but it was necessary to register it because of the level of work we were doing and the amount of money we were spending at the time
This was how GSWMI was birthed
I have told the story several times
The GSWMI Widows ministry also started this way
I went to minister in Kwara and we saw how the ministry we visited cared so much for widows
I came home and the Lord said to me "Take care of my wives"
I said who are your wives
The Lord said "Widows"
This was how we registered hundreds of widows and started setting them up in business and paying them monthly stipends to the glory of God since 2020
If i tell you that in all this we preached only the gospel
We didnt call for any seed, first fruit, tithe, guilt offerings or any other offering churches call for in order to survive
Somehow, the Lord supplied all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus
In all these we bought buses, started building a city, sponsored many through secondary schools and Universities both locally and internationally, settled welfare needs, and conducted Christian Social Responsibility exercises both within Nigeria and Abroad (Ghana, Scotland, London, Edinbra, France, and 18 states in Nigeria), we started supporting several orphanages and also continued to sponsor and support other ministries affiliated to us in being a blessing to God's people
The Gospel is indeed the power of God unto salvation!
As we step into another New Year in a few days and celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus, let us keep our eyes on the realities of the gospel as we should
We must not turn to religion and become victims or slaves again in the name of following the footsteps of men who have found a way to make themselves superior to the Holy Spirit and who through manipulations subject those who had been set free indeed in Christ to bondage again in the name of works and performance rather than the finished work of Christ.
Like Apostle Paul wrote in the book of Corinthians, all our works will be tested and passed through the fire to see the sincerity and purity of its inner workings
Works built on lies, manipulations, and human wisdom will never stand the test of time
Every believer must know what it means to walk in the Spirit of Liberty and fulfill divine destiny in Christ just by resting in the finished work of Christ
We must beware of dogs and those who preach the gospel to fill their bellies
I heard a preacher tying prosperity, divine healing, and blessings to seeds given to him during a ministration, this is wrong!
Nobody has to give anything other than that which Christ has died to give to all who have received him as Lord and Savior for their salvation and to live the Higher life in Him.
Christmas is not just a celebration of the child who was born, it is also a celebration of the Son who was given
In Christ, we had the full picture of the reality of the new life
We were born as he was born, we died as He died, we were given eternal life in Him as he was given to us as the precursor of the Zoe life
A born-again Christian can never need deliverance or be in bondage.
He or she might however lack the knowledge of what it means to live the new life and all the benefits it bestows
We must teach them and not take advantage of their ignorance
Taking advantage of their ignorance is what we do when we come up with devilish prayer points, deliverance services, seed-sowing gimmicks, and so on
He that the son has set free, is free indeed
"Christ in me" is not just a catchy phrase
It means the Anointed life which was given to me being made manifest in me as the hope of glory
We have all that Christ has given and much more and we must live in this divine reality every day by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Glory be to God
I wish all my fellow believers a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead
PS: If you are still experiencing certain things like demonic afflictions, fighting in your dream, eating your dream, sex in the dream and so many other strange realities in your life and you are a born-again Christian
You dont need deliverance
You need to get baptized in the Holy Ghost and then train yourself how not to see yourself as a man or woman who is still subject to the whims and caprices of the sons of Adam
You are not of the first Adam, you are not a living soul
You are of the second Adam, you are a life-giving Spirit
The Spirit of God is domiciled in you and therefore you are far above all principalities and powers
You can never be subject to their shenanigans again
Christ in you is the manifestation of glory
This is my Christmas gift to you, make use of it and reign as you are destined to
Our monthly gift to widows in Kwara is posted under this tweet, we are posting this to celebrate the faithfulness of God
We have never stopped for a day since we started taking care of Widows all over Nigeria
And God has been faithful!
Blessed be God.
Why do many believers disdain the supernatural? Why do we behave like Esau, the sense ruled man who despised his birthright?
A friend got a new job recently, before taking the job he made his findings and was told the CEO was a wicked man who fired anyone who dare consult for
