Israel Galabusi, a Senior Six candidate at Busoga College Mwiri, has urged the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) and schools to provide specialized support for learners with albinism.
Speaking on the challenges faced by visually impaired students, Galabusi highlighted that most learners with albinism suffer from sight complications. He noted that without proper sitting arrangements and specialized learning equipment, excelling in national exams and daily classes remains a steep hurdle.
Galabusi is calling for inclusive policies to ensure these students get an equal chance to succeed.

Proudly my skin. Proudly all skin tones.
Today on #AlbinismAwarenessDay, @UNADeaf stands with the albinism community.
Skin color is not a barrier. Stigma is.
We commit to inclusion, protection, and equal opportunity for all.

June is #AlbinismAwarenessMonth. This year's national celebrations in Kamuli District are under the theme: "Proudly in My Skin: Celebrate All Skin Colour Tones." Let's challenge stigma, celebrate diversity, and promote the rights, dignity, and inclusion of persons with albinism.
Today, we stand in solidarity with persons with albinism and condemn all forms of discrimination, stigma, & marginalization. Let us value people for their character, talents, & contributions not the color of their skin.
Uganda will join the rest of the world to commemorate the International Albinism Awareness Day on June 13, 2026 under the theme, Proudly in my Skin: Celebrating all Skin tones at kamuli District.

I am one of the 2.5 billion people worldwide who need one or more assistive products. Without my glasses, I miss details that most people take for granted. I am fortunate to have access to regular eye care and to be able to replace my glasses when needed.
But for millions of people around the world, the assistive technology they need is simply out of reach.
On this #WorldATDay, I urge ALL countries to prioritise investment in making assistive technology accessible and affordable for everyone. When people have access to the tools they need, their quality of life and productivity can improve dramatically.
Access to assistive technology is not a luxury. This is why I am happy to be part of #MeAndMyAT movement. Join us!
