@RobertF54186975@histories_arch While you are correct about accidental inventions, the Romans purpose built structures to last longer than themselves. The aqueducts are a good example. Ridiculously over engineered. They played the long game.
@iheartmindy@histories_arch They've been working on this since the fall of Rome. It's use in forts and other large structures would have had a significant structural advantage. Maybe step out of your bubble and remember the world has been here a long time before you and your "causes"
