Global Day of Coderetreat is coming back to Vilnius! Nov 13 is the day for passionate developers looking to advance their craft, for free, and without getting paid.
A face-to-face on-site event in true community spirit, taking necessary COVID precautions.

It's the first time in 10 years that I won't be facilitating a Global Day of Coderetreat in Vilnius (due to COVID risk). But I do encourage you to join one of the virtual Coderetreat events in whatever timezone suits you:

If you're passionate about coding and you've never been to a Coderetreat, you owe it to yourself to come to the Global Day on Nov 16. We've got 112 cities around the world joining so far, and Vilnius is one of them: https://t.co/gPa5XGQ5Cq
@ramunas_m @jcchavezs @DavidOstrovsky That is high praise, given all the great speakers this year. My vote goes to @adamralph's talk on modeling service boundaries, for clearly presenting a vital skill that needs way more attention in the industry.
Good news - Vilnius is once again joining the Global Day of Coderetreat initiative. If you like the idea of spending the whole day just writing the best code you can alongside other like-minded passionate developers, this day is for you: https://t.co/iwv66W151j
@liucijus Nobody has expressed their will to facilitate Vilnius Coderetreat yet. C'mon people, it's not that hard! I'll do a 1h Google Hangout training for volunteers.
Would anyone in Vilnius be willing to replace me as the facilitator of Global Day of CodeRetreat this year (Nov 17)? Having done it for 7 years straight, I think I'm now ready to take the challenge as a regular attendee.
@liucijus@hesher Agreed. Libraries are there to help solve specific problems. One should normally test whether the end-goal is achieved, not how it integrates to some library, which is an implementation detail that can change.
This paper reveals the detrimental effects of problem structuring when done by analysts or managers. Problem structuring is really part of exploring the design/solution space and thus should be left to developers: https://t.co/wHaDzvhAt6
