We are sad to announce the folding of one of the original and “legendary” teams in the Federal League, the Red West Legends. The Legends were formed out of the Coon Rapids Diamonds and were one of the winningest teams in Federal League history (since 2010) with 171 wins and 158 losses, second in wins during that time period. The Legends/Diamonds won 6 Championships overall - including a AAA title in 2012, four AA titles with the most recent coming in 2018, and one A title in 2014.
The @RedwestLegends have a league high sixteen Federal League Hall of Famers that include CT Harris, Ted Fust, Kasey Grey, Dave Sorenson, Dean Althoff, Kevin Ulrich, Dave Tupper, Dan Tupper, Bob McCann, Larry Wallin, Jesse Lopez, Kelly Hendricks, John Ogren, Gary Edwards, Jim Millow and Gordy Crupi. Crupi was elected in the 1995 inaugural Hall of Fame class along with Richfield Rocket Bill Davis.
Off the diamond the Legends also volunteered countless hours supporting the Federal League with Dan Tupper’s many years as League President and CT Harris, Jason Woelber taking turns as League Treasurers.
In the off-season Dan Tupper would take teams to Cooperstown, New York for the Legends of Baseball Tournament, winning the tournament in 2021 at historic Doubleday Field. Outside the Federal League, Tupper was also instrumental in founding the Minnesota Twins Fantasy Camp in Fort Myers, Florida, the popular off-season destination for many lucky - and wealthy - Federal Leaguers over the years.
Tupper had decided to step down as League Commissioner during this past 2026 Winter Meeting after the news that Red West folded, Tupper will continue to help with the league as the Head of the Hall of Fame Committee. The majority of the former Legends left the Federal League and headed to the TCMABL and formed the Fighting Tuna, the rest of the Legends ended up on other teams or are currently on the Free Agent list.
We want to wish Dan Tupper, and all the former players great success both on and off the baseball field. Good luck, fellas. ❤️🖤
@GleemanAndGeek They have to know they are loathed by the fans, and feeling is likely mutual at this point judging by their actions. I hate to think they have more carnage in mind but hard not to
James Ogren (‘28, MN) put together a standout day at the plate collecting 3 hits. Showed a calm presence in the box with the ability to stay short and direct to the ball. Adjusted well to pitch location and drove the ball to all parts of the field. @PG_WiscMinn#MidwestWS
@sorney The owners deserve all of this. Yes they will make billions but the potential sell price is now dropping with each day that goes by. Their stupid asses should have done the literal opposite thing if they intended to sell - did they not just see what happened w/ the Wolves? Fate
"They could have been beloved and rich. Instead, they chose to be loathed and slightly richer."
Been waiting for this from @AaronGleeman since the news broke and, boy, does he bring it.
