Well, I don't work with dots since I am in Europe and they are not available here. But I work mainly with codex. I picked up an HP with Intel i5 8th gen, 1050ti 4gb and 16gb of ram for like 300€
Don't listen to these idiots. Codex doesn't run any local model, all you need is great internet at home. I do work from my actual workplace whenever I have time and give codex tasks via remote on my phone. It's good enough.
