So let's call this what it is. Chelsea don't have transfer targets. They have Arsenal's targets, with a £30 million premium attached.

You talk about being the biggest club in London. Biggest clubs set trends, they don't chase them.
Every window it's the same story, Arsenal move first, Chelsea copy-paste.

You want Arteta's eye for a player so bad you've turned scouting into a stalking exercise.

Here's an idea for Mikel Arteta and this club.

This is insane.

After spending well over £100m on multiple signings, they’re still not expected to seriously compete for the Premier League, let alone win it.

They could even finish outside the top four again and the media still wouldn’t put them under any real pressure.

They genuinely have the lowest standards of any so-called Premier League “big” club.

What an odd way to think.

Arsenal’s title chase started four seasons ago, and they eventually won the league last season with players signed for reasonable fees.

Timber – £33m
Calafiori – £40m
Hincapié – £40m
Gabriel – £27m
Saliba – £28m
Etc…

Most of them are now worth significantly more than what Arsenal paid.

Meanwhile, clubs like Chelsea have assembled a squad filled with £100m players, or players signed for fees close to that, and still finished 10th last season.

Spending the most money doesn’t automatically build the best team.

The message that Arsenal is sending to all the selling clubs is simple.

That is: If you have a reasonable valuation for your player, we can do business.

Everyone wants profits or more money, but there should be a line between profit and ridiculousness.

Arsenal payed £100M+ for Rice, £68M for Eze and the rest. This is not a lie, it shows that, if the valuation is within reason we will consider and do business.

You can't say Arsenal doesn't have money to spend, on the contrary, we have enough money burning a hole in our pockets.

But we are a reasonable bunch.
