Ten years from now you’ll put on a jacket and find a mask in the pocket. “Oh man, what a weird year that was,” you’ll chuckle to yourself. Then you’ll pick up your machete and continue across the wasteland, keeping to the shadows to avoid the roving gangs of cannibal raiders.
Tory ministers saying “we owe it to children to keep schools open” might want to explain to me why they closed my youth centre, cut mental health services, underfunded my secondary school, stripped free school meals from my peers, tripled uni fees, demonised climate strikers...
@ms_peaceweaver @jjarvisLondon @piercepenniless The board of deputies and it's leaders have been consistently critical of the Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn.
Keir starmer is trying to distance himself from Corbyn and 'prove' himself to the Jewish 'community' and the BoD.
Its not a leap to suggest it was a political action.
@ms_peaceweaver @jjarvisLondon @piercepenniless This doesn't change the fact that there are plently of socialist jews who reject the board of deputies and feel unrepresented by it.
You tried to paint me as anti-semitic, when in fact you just to painted Jewish people as homogeneous and supportive of the Board of Deputies...
@ms_peaceweaver @jjarvisLondon @piercepenniless I'm well aware? Where did I say there wasn't?
You're wrongly assuming all jewish people support and agree with the board of deputies. Jewish people arent homogeneous and the Board of Deputies does not represent all Jewish people, many are critical of them including, such as JVL.
@jjarvisLondon @ms_peaceweaver@piercepenniless My comment was a question and I didn't make any outrageous claimed. I was just curious and skeptical, which given the context is fair.
I really don't get how you expect people to understand and learn if you refuse to let people ask genuine quesitons with good intentions.
@jjarvisLondon @ms_peaceweaver@piercepenniless Because ot jumps out as politically motivated given the context.
If Jeremy Corbyn appointed 5 fairly unknown politicians, one of whom was also a member of momentum or other group, I'd question whether the decision had underlying political motivations one or not.
@ms_peaceweaver @jjarvisLondon @piercepenniless No, but had they had the title of an organisation such as "Labour To Win" I'd be skeptical.
I would equally be skeptical if Jeremy corbyn had appointed momentum figureheads to the lords.
@ms_peaceweaver@piercepenniless Genuinely curious why not?
Surely it's not deemed to be anti-semitic by questioning the motives of Keir Starmer in appointing somone he needs to win over to the house of lords? She's a fairly insignificant politican outside of her position at the board of deputies right?
Gentleman behind had no issue with a man being called a terrorist for no reason but the colour of his skin, but as soon as he told his abuser to get off the bus? Outrage!
