iPhone Duo is here! Excited to have worked on the design of our open/close transition. It’s designed to make the two displays feel like one seamless experience by perceptually bending the focal plane, not the content, so that it feels like opening a window onto a singular view.

For this edit, we built a web app where our team could build and review the cut together, w git style branches/ version management.

> Sourcing:
For initial wide sourcing agents search dif web archives by section then clip best shots and organize into library of options.

> Editing: From the browser timeline we could swap shots, drag word hits, adjust pacing, add media, comment, and compare versions.

> Finalizing + Exporting: render drafts from cloud w/ Remotion Lambda pipeline or export an FCPXML packaged w media zip to drop into Resolve for finishing.

We've been backing Whop since 2022 after meeting @cultured and @czoob3 at @justinmateen's house - people are finally waking up to the fact that they're building a generational company with tons of tailwinds https://t.co/mbhKDXURKW

[Tim @TimGuiteras]

We're building the next chapter of design at @whop and looking for a handful of exceptional designers to join us.

Message me if you're interested or know someone who'd be a great fit.

[Alex Pall @AlexPallNY]

Been saying this for years! @whop is the most underrated company in tech! But not anymore! Congrats @cultured

[Merritt Hummer @merritthummer]

I've lost track of the number of times people have called @whop "niche" or questioned its TAM. In fact, @whop is serving a global community of young people who are looking for alternative ways to support themselves outside of the 9-5 paradigm. This population is rapidly growing in size due to market forces - crushing student debt, AI displacing entry level jobs, ROI erosion in higher ed, and rising living costs. The current system does not work for millions of people.

@whop was built to create another path not beholden to traditional schooling and employment. Every board deck begins with its mission: "deliver everyone a sustainable income." @cultured and @czoob3 are native to this community and understand it viscerally. They saw this opportunity years before it became obvious.

@whop is at an inflection point with @dougleone @sequoia and @tobi @Shopify co-leading the Series D. @cultured and @czoob3 are building their team for the next chapter - please apply if this mission resonates with you.

Lots of people use whop’s tech to run and grow their businesses because we not only provide the best tools, we tell you the best tool at any given time and what to do with it

Whop exists to deliver everyone an income. I've never worked on a mission I believe in more.

A year ago I joined a small group of engineers moving faster than anyone I'd ever worked with. Since then we've grown into the team pushing the frontier of economic infrastructure.

Steven, Cam and the team's drive make every day here feel like we're still going from 0 to 1. We're putting everything into product so the next generation gets an even better shot than we did

[owen @ohwhen]

over the past 2 years, the mobile team has built the Whop app natively for ios and android, making it possible to create, run and grow your business from your phone

our apps let you accept payments with Tap to Pay, issue cards, run ads, livestream and chat. you can track any metric on your home screen with widgets and our mobile SDKs bring similar functionality to other apps

if you wanna join a small but mighty team here in Palo Alto, please DM

[Steven Schwartz 🦅 @cultured]

Whop has raised $200M in Series D funding at a $5.1B valuation, backed by @sequoia and @shopify.

It really feels like we are barely touching the tip of the iceberg in a market larger than anyone can imagine.

We first launched Whop as a better way for us to sell sneaker bots, one of the most niche types of desktop software out there.

Total TAM? Probably $20,000 per day.

Who cares, tiny market.

But, what people discounted is the idea that there were actually 70,000 other markets exactly like that one.

Beyond the investment itself, I am especially excited to welcome legendary silicon valley investor @dougleone to our board of directors. Doug and the sequoia team are nothing but a brilliant, resourceful, and principled group of people.

My co-founder Cameron and I started building on Shopify when we were 13 years old. Shopify is one of the most impactful all-in-one cloud ecosystems ever created; @tobi has pioneered modern entrepreneurship the way we know it and we are thrilled to have him in our corner.

We have a tenet at Whop to be the dumbest in the room and I am very grateful that this has recently become a lot easier.

We are focused on markets, scale economies, and progressive media. If that is up your alley, please message me directly.

The $200M raised will support our expansion as we build economic infrastructure for the next century, continuing on our mission of delivering everyone an income.

[doug leone @dougleone]

I waited, learned and made my first investment since returning as an active investor at Sequoia.

Whop is a special company, and I’m excited to help them to create jobs and stimulate the economy.

[JC Bahr-de Stefano @jbahrdestefano]

HUGE round in fintech

@whop raised a $205M Series D at a $5.1B val led by @sequoia w/ @shopify also investing

Whop is an all-in-one platform for internet bizs to sell products, take payments, pay out globally, run ads, + issue biz cards

Doing $6.6B in annualized GMV (up from ~$4B in June) w/ ~22M users on the platform

Quite the story + evolution --> started in '21 as a marketplace for sneaker bots!
