La última vez que vi a Maria Corina Machado fue en las calles de Caracas, el 09 de enero del 2025.

Las semanas y meses después de ese encuentro con nuestro pueblo fueron difíciles.

Ambos pasamos meses en la clandestinidad. En mi caso, fui capturado y pasé por la funesta y lamentablemente común experiencia de la cárcel política.

En su caso, tuvo que escapar de nuestro país en una misión arriesgada y valiente mientras era buscada por Maduro y sus esbirros.

Ambos perseguidos, ambos puestos a prueba y ambos sin la libertad de recorrer nuestro país.

No olvido la tenacidad, el compromiso y la voluntad de hierro que hicieron posible el 28 de julio.

La misma tenacidad que tuvimos los venezolanos en las innumerables protestas en contra de la dictadura.

Y es el mismo compromiso que tenemos hoy.

Hoy, Venezuela está en una posición completamente diferente a nuestro último encuentro.

El que nos perseguía es el que está preso y los esbirros del régimen son los que están bajo amenaza.

El avión salió hace aproximadamente 1 mes de la fábrica de Embraer y hoy inaugura su nueva imágen en conmemoración a los 250 años de la independencia de Estados Unidos.
El vuelo de hoy será el AA3599 programado para salir de Miami 10:16am de la puerta D55, llegando a la puerta 16 de Maiquetía a las 1:36pm. Retorna Miami hoy mismo en vuelo AA4194 programado para salir 2:40pm. Mañana usaran el mismo avión en las mismas rutas .

Venezuela's Lower Caroní basin holds approximately 16 GW of installed hydroelectric capacity. Only 8,500 MW of that can be dispatched north via the 765 kV transmission backbone. The remaining 7,500 MW has nowhere to go.

The industrial consumers that once absorbed this surplus locally, the aluminum smelters and steel plants of CVG in Guayana city, are no longer operational. When Guri generates more than the national grid can carry, that energy is released through the reservoir and lost.

Over the past several months I have had the privilege of consulting with senior Venezuelan electrical engineers, many of whom helped design and build the National Electric System during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. Their technical assessment points to one underutilized solution: Bitcoin mining as demand-side flexibility.

The logic is straightforward. Hydroelectric generation cannot simply be reduced to save costs. The water exists whether you use it or not. Energy that cannot be transmitted or stored is energy permanently lost. Industrial-scale Bitcoin mining co-located near the generation source absorbs that stranded capacity at near-zero marginal cost to the generator, and can be curtailed in minutes when the national grid requires the capacity elsewhere.

This is not a theoretical proposal. Venezuela executed the same demand-control principle in the 1990s on Margarita Island, using hotel HVAC systems as flexible load to flatten peak demand curves in exchange for preferential tariffs. The engineering methodology is proven. The engineers are still here.

What is required to move from concept to execution:

1. A regulatory framework that ends the state monopoly on electricity generation and commercialization.
2. An independent system operator publishing real-time dispatch data, enabling bankable private PPAs.
3. Political authorization for private capital, both domestic and foreign, to co-locate industrial load near hydroelectric generation.

OFAC General License 48A is already in place. Under such framework, authorized American companies can now generate, distribute, store, and sell electricity in Venezuelan soil.

The technical capacity exists inside Venezuela. The energy exists. The investment interest from the international Bitcoin mining industry is real. It's now only a matter of who leads first to lock in better terms than the laggers.

Bitcoin mining will come back to Venezuela!
