A shot I wanted to do for the last 5 years. Touch and go with the weather. When I arrived an hour before it was due it was peeing it do with very poor visibility. Thankfully it turned out Ok.

@SimonZev @supaned @Ogilvie_CJ Yes - Pan can be raised or lowered on the move with Class 88’s. Engine can be fired up on the move, be idling until the pan is lowered. Driver switches over to engine mode and vice versa. Class 88’s with the Pan up, or in engine mode can also work in multi with a Class 68 👌🏼.

Stadler is to supply @GBRailfreight with a fleet of 30 Class 99 Co-Co bi-mode locos based on the EURODUAL platform. They will have a max speed of 75mph, max power at the wheel of 6000kW (~8000hp) and boast a max tractive effort of 500kN. The first is due to enter service in 2025.
