@Squee22 @rshereme Every country's Red Cross or Red Crescent National Society has its own legal authority in the country. If one of them doesn't abide by the agreed Red Cross rules and principles does not mean in any way that such actions are supported somehow by overall movement. Quite a contrary.
Hundreds of thousands of people in Türkiye and Syria remain in critical, urgent humanitarian aid. ⛑️
@IFRC and the Japanese Red Cross Society (@JRCS_PR) are sending relief items to aid the efforts in Türkiye.
Thanks to Airbus foundation for helping to deliver. ✈️
@mrsorokaa@ICRC Nobody didn't bother reading the bottom of that page. It's the Russian gov who calls it evacuation and it's the Russian government who conducts the "evacuation". IFRC is not conducting forced evacuations anywhere, just responds to events with humanitarian assistance.

@KTchernikov@juscallmesergio@ICRC There is no local org. that can reach to protect Ukrainian PoWs in Russia for example. Truckloads of Red Cross aid is being shipped to Ukraine wile putting themselves at risk evey day. Promote your local org. instead of (re)tweeting misinformation about others.
@KTchernikov@juscallmesergio@ICRC Your choice. But not smart to undermine probably the only organisation that can actually reach to these people if they are being forcibly sent to Siberia to mistreated in any other way.
@KTchernikov@juscallmesergio@ICRC I agree... If they... But they are not! "We never help organize or carry out forced evacuations.
This is true in Ukraine. This is true for everywhere we work around the world.
We would not support any operation that goes against people’s will".
@KTchernikov@juscallmesergio@ICRC Big difference! So you are saying IFRC shouldn't provide humanitarian assistance to people who have been deported/fled/evacuated/kidnapped to Russia or anywhere because it's Russian government? Shouldn't talk to RU government to make sure the human rights are being honoured?
