to anyone trying to understand the #NorthernIrelandRiots#BelfastRiots
PSNI Response tonight in West has been unbelievably disproportionate from the past week
Scotch Irish Presbyterian colonist who set up a plantation in Jamaica in the tradition of the Ulster plantation. He Acquired wealth and Jamaican land via Britain, as a coloniser of Ireland. I highly doubt this fella self identified as Irish.

@mjfallons @plebfootball @LBC@ShelaghFogarty honestly overall this genuinely hasn't been my experience, i wish it was the case (and could well be overall) but predominantly for me ones from south have seen me specifically as 'northern irish'
(tbf for me this is mainly dublin, donegal is more accepting)
@plebfootball @LBC@ShelaghFogarty so now i get to q1...
we're unique bc of our specific political, historical and socio-economic conditions
but i think acceptance from those in britian or RoI is limited bc NI has only ever been seen as a problem
@plebfootball @LBC@ShelaghFogarty seen as british in britian
it's hard when so much of your life evolves around an identity that others (from your identity group) don't recognise you as such
