Nigeria has been trying to build its educational system on a foundation of guesswork.
Without knowing exactly how many classrooms lacked roofs, how many schools had zero access to clean water, or where the student-to-teacher ratio was dangerously skewed, funding was often deployed based on political patronage rather than actual structural needs.
This is the first time in the history of Nigeria, where we will have an integrated platform that houses data on Learners, teachers, classrooms, infrastructure, hygiene facilities into a national database. Bringing infrastructure, hygiene facilities, classrooms, teachers, and learners into one single, non-manipulable database, strengthens predictive planning.
This will turnout to be one of the most impactful interventions in the Nigerian Educational System. Kudos to Dr. Alausa and the entire team. 👏🏽 and the President.
Accurate data is the bedrock of any developmental policy. This is the foundation UBEC should have been built on. Let's build from here and look to the future.

One day, you might come back and realize the world didn’t wait for you.
My cousin returned home after 45years in Abroad
For years he barely kept in touch . No calls . No messages. He stayed away because he believed we would only reach out to ask him for money .
When he finally came back , everything had changed ,new house, older faces, and some relatives were gone .
He asked about one of our cousins
We told him, he's now married and has relocated.
Then he asked about another relative.
We told him, He passed away.
With every answer, his heart broke a little more.
By the end of the day, he couldn't hold back the tears.
He thought cutting everyone off was the price of chasing success. He never imagined life would move on without him.
Life doesn't stop because you're away.
Stay connected with the people who matter. Success means little if one day you come back home and feel like a stranger in your own story.
BREAKING: Five kidnappers in Osun State have been sentenced to death by hanging after a court found them guilty of kidnapping a man in 2018. The victim's family paid a ₦3 million ransom, but he was still killed.
No terrorism, kidnapping or banditry in South West. No!
What I first thought has gone beyond what I initially expected…
At first, I created an AI trackingdevice just as a prototype for testing and learning how I will improve it in the future
But after I posted it, I got a lot of attention so much that many people started asking how they could get it
Here I realized that this is not just a prototype, this is a big opportunity 🔥
Therefore, I decided to focus heavily on this project and start building it into a complete safety ecosystem, this will include an emergency help calling device medical from anywhere in the world
At the moment, the tracking device I have built was made using local materials plastic, glue, and major components
which is why it is large in size
But with support or investors, its size can be reduced, improved, and taken to production quickly
If this project continues to be pushed now and gains more attention, supporters and investors can be gotten quickly 🚀
Thank you for the support, I am planning to take it international 🌍🔥
Freed Eda Oniyo Ekiti Kidnap Victims Currently Receiving Medical Treatment.
They were freed after 57 days in captivity. One of them died in the captivity.
If Bola Tinubu had been elected and allowed to serve for as many years as these people did, Nigeria would, by now, have been far better than the U.S. and Canada combined.
My neighbor has been married for eight years.
She and her husband have three beautiful, brilliant daughters who top their classes every term.
But her mother-in-law recently moved into their boys' quarters and has turned the house into a living hell.
Every morning, she walks past my neighbor and says loudly, "A house full of girls is an empty house. Who will carry our family name when my son is gone?"
Yesterday, the husband finally broke his silence. He sat his wife down and said, "My mother is right. I need a son. If your next pregnancy is not a boy, I will have to find a woman who can give me an heir."
My neighbor is completely shattered.
She has been crying all night, feeling like a failure just for giving birth to girls.
What a lot of people don’t know is that it has been scientifically proven that the man’s chromosomes determine the sex of a child, yet women bear 100% of the blame in traditional homes.
A man who values a family name over the life, love, and health of his wife and daughters does not deserve a family.
Daughters are a complete blessing, not a compromise.
@ronkecarew@egi_nupe I haven't paid school fees for my kids for close to 8years now
That's not bcos I don't have funds for it but bcos my wife takes care of it so I can focus on other projects we're executing .
It's always a blessing to have a supportive partner

NDLEA alerts public on fraudulent auction offers impersonating officials
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has drawn attention to a fraudulent scheme orchestrated by criminal elements and scammers targeting unsuspecting members of the public.
The fraudsters have been found using the names of top NDLEA officials, most notably the Secretary to the Agency, Barrister Shadrach Haruna, to issue fake private letters and messages offering cheap forfeited vehicles for sale on auction.
The public is hereby notified that these offers are a complete scam. The Agency wishes to categorically state that these fraudulent offers are a malicious gimmick designed solely to defraud targeted individuals of their hard-earned money.
No official of the Agency has the mandate to privately offer, allocate, or sell forfeited vehicles or any other seized assets to individuals. Vehicles and other assets forfeited as proceeds of drug crimes are strictly auctioned through public processes managed by appointed, government-registered auctioneers. Any legitimate auction exercise is widely publicized in national dailies and through the Agency's official channels, in line with established legal and public procurement guidelines.
Members of the public are strongly urged to discountenance, ignore, and report any such private letters, text messages, or social media offers claiming to originate from Barrister Shadrach Haruna or any other NDLEA official.
The NDLEA remains committed to maintaining transparency and integrity in all its operations. Do not fall victim to these criminal elements. If you are approached with such fraudulent offers, please report immediately to the nearest NDLEA command or via our official communication channels.

Last December, a man in my estate was arrested for kidnapping his own 9-year-old daughter.
By sunset, everyone believed they already knew the whole story.
They were completely wrong.
The little girl had vanished after school. Her mother was frantic.
Neighbours searched every street. The police got involved.
Her photo spread across countless WhatsApp groups.
Then someone claimed they had seen the girl's father driving out of the estate with her.
That changed everything.
The parents had been separated for almost two years. Their divorce had been bitter.
People immediately concluded he had taken the child out of revenge.
The mother confirmed he had been asking to see his daughter for weeks.
Now everyone was certain. The police tracked him down the following morning at a small hotel in Benin.
The little girl was with him. The story seemed over. Until the child burst into tears at the police station.
She refused to leave her father. She kept repeating the same sentence. "Daddy saved me."
Nobody understood.
Saved her from what? Then the truth came out.
For months, the girl's maternal uncle had been abusing her whenever her mother travelled for work.
The little girl had finally told her father during a phone call.
He didn't believe he could convince his ex-wife quickly enough.
So he picked his daughter up after school without permission and drove out of town, intending to report everything from somewhere the uncle couldn't interfere.
It was a terrible decision. But not for the reason everyone thought.
Medical examinations later confirmed the girl's account.
The uncle was arrested.
The charges against the father were dropped after investigators established there had been no ransom demand, no attempt to hide the child permanently, and that he had cooperated fully once he was found.
The saddest part? For two days, the man everyone called a kidnapper was the only adult who believed his daughter.
That case changed how many people in our estate reacted to rumours.
Because the loudest story isn't always the true one. And sometimes, the person everyone is condemning is the one trying hardest to protect a child.
Cabin Cleaner Receives Accolades After Returning Purse Containing $730 Found on a British Airways Flight
A cabin cleaner, Ibrahim Bala Zakari, has been widely praised after returning a purse containing $730 (USD) and several credit cards that he found while cleaning a British Airways aircraft.
Zakari made the discovery while cleaning British Airways Flight BA8382, where he recovered the purse from seat 35K. Instead of keeping the valuables, he immediately reported the find to the British Airways Cabin Services Duty Manager (CSDM).
The purse and its contents were subsequently handed over to the British Airways Security team for proper handling and procedures.
Commending Zakari’s integrity, the Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) described his actions as an outstanding display of honesty and professionalism.
In a statement, the company said Zakari’s conduct reflects SAHCO’s core values of integrity and excellence, adding that his actions set “a standard worth emulating.”
The company also celebrated him for demonstrating that honesty remains a vital virtue in the aviation industry and beyond.

OPERATION WHIRL STROKE TROOPS NEUTRALIZE TERRORIST, RECOVER AK-47 DURING SWIFT ANTI-KIDNAP OPERATION
Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have recorded another success against criminal elements following a swift response to credible intelligence on kidnapping activities at Jotar Village, near the Quarantine Checkpoint, on 2 July 2026.
Acting promptly on the intelligence received, troops deployed at Kyado immediately mobilised to the suspected location to prevent the criminals from carrying out their activities. On arrival, the troops made contact with the armed kidnappers, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire.
During the encounter, one terrorist was neutralised, while troops recovered one AK-47 rifle and two empty magazines from the scene. The recovery further underscores the determination of Operation WHIRL STROKE to deny criminal elements the freedom to operate within its Joint Operations Area. Meanwhile, there are indicators that the neutralized bandit may have been part of the gang that attacked commuters on 1 July 2026 which included the former Benue State SSG who suffered gun shot injury.
The Force Commander, Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE, Major General Moses Gara, praised troops resilience and commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He charged them to sustain aggressive fighting patrols and maintain pressure on criminal elements to ensure they are denied freedom of action throughout the OPWS Joint Operations Area.
The Force Commander also applauded other security agencies for their continued collaboration and intelligence sharing, describing inter-agency cooperation as critical to achieving lasting peace and security. He urged all security stakeholders to remain united in the collective effort to restore lasting peace, stability and tranquillity across the Operation WHIRL STROKE Joint Operations Area.
Operation WHIRL STROKE reaffirmed its commitment to protecting law-abiding citizens and encouraged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, assuring them that all useful intelligence would be treated with utmost confidentiality and acted upon promptly.

You guys should come together and form a residents' association. Fix your drainage yourselves. Don't wait for the government. Simply channel your estate's drainage to the nearest available canal, and it will save everyone a lot of distress.
All the estates with proper drainage systems are not flooding. That is why I don't agree that everything should be blamed on climate change. Yes, climate change is real, but a major part of this problem is poor drainage.
If the government fixes its own drainage infrastructure and private estates also fix theirs, the situation will improve significantly.
Lagos actually has an advantage because it is surrounded by the ocean and the lagoon. Much of the stormwater can be properly channeled into them. Many other countries do not have that natural advantage. Let's make use of it.
In Warri, Delta State, Court Orders Prophet to Pay ₦200m Damages, Rebuild Destroyed Egbesu Shrine
A Federal High Court sitting in Warri has ordered a Christian cleric to pay ₦200 million in damages for the unlawful destruction of a traditional Egbesu shrine.
The presiding judge condemned the actions of Prophet Tamarauebi Elisha Owan—founder of GreatGod Holy Tabernacle—and his congregants, characterizing their actions as “unconstitutional” and a flagrant violation of the fundamental right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.
In addition to the severe financial penalties, the court issued a rare mandatory injunction compelling the prophet and his co-respondents to physically rebuild the traditional place of worship they decimated.
The 2024 Invasion and Desecration
The legal battle stems from an incident on December 20, 2024, in Ojobo Community, Delta State. According to court records, Prophet Owan, accompanied by members of his congregation, invaded the Osuopele Beniseide Opu-Oru Temple—a historic worship center dedicated to the Egbesu deity.
The invasion, which the respondents allegedly orchestrated under the pretext of “combating evil spirits,” resulted in extensive structural damage to the temple and the destruction of irreplaceable historical and cultural artifacts.
Delivering the judgment on June 29, 2026, the court firmly rebuked the notions of religious supremacy that drove the assault. The court declared that the harassment of the traditional worshippers was overtly discriminatory and violated Sections 10 and 38 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
Restitution of Worship Space: The respondents are ordered to completely rebuild the Osuopele Beniseide Opu-Oru Temple destroyed during their December 2024 raid in the Ojobo Community.
Exemplary Damages: The court awarded ₦100 million against the respondents for the unlawful and malicious destruction of the temple and its deities.
General Damages: An additional ₦100 million was awarded to the applicants as compensation for the gross violation of their constitutional rights and the “untold ridicule and humiliation” suffered by the Egbesu believers.
Litigation Costs: The respondents must jointly pay ₦5 million to cover the legal and filing costs incurred by the applicants.
Restraining Order: To ensure the future safety of the traditional worshippers, the court slammed a restrictive injunction ordering the prophet and his followers to maintain a 10-kilometer distance away from the temple and its practitioners.
Public Apology: The court mandated the respondents to publish a formal public apology in two national daily newspapers circulating across Nigeria.
A good governor increases the value of a place, while a bad governor devalues it.
Governor Seyi Makinde,I don't really like his style, but I must give him credit for giving Ibadan a facelift. Governor Seyi fixed the major roads in Ibadan. You can drive for kilometers without encountering a single pothole. That was a very, very good thing he did. He also made Ibadan more serene than ever.
If you have ever been to Ibadan before and you visit now, you will clearly see the difference.
A good governor takes care of the environment. I still stand by that.
Honestly, that is why my disappointment with a certain governor makes me so sad. He inherited a very good city. He was supposed to make it better, but instead, he allowed the environment to deteriorate. Rather than adding value, he even devalued the place because he didn't do the right thing and grossly neglected the environment.
I won't mention any names, but I think people already know who I'm talking about. I pray in 2027 we will go back to having governors that will take care of the environment as before.
I met a sweet girl this morning. We entered the same Keke . She is actually a student . When she wanted to drop I noticed she was stained . I notified her to sit back . It was just the two of us in the keke . I asked her how she will get back home and change, she said she doesn’t have enough money to enter “Drop” because it was raining . I negotiated the price with the keke guy , paid him and told him to drop her at home . She couldn’t stop thanking me . I felt like a proud aunty 🥰
