Wonders started to happen in these farms, and our sales volumes increased. I obtained a sales commission bigger than my invitees salary at office. I was invited by the boss and offered a full time contract. That's how I joined the job placement as a sales representative

I introduced the concept of concentrates to these farmers. All these farmers needed was to add a few ingredients to these products, such as maize corn, bran, and either soya, lime, and the feed is mixed together.

I moved to nearby poultry farms in Mukono, Kigunga, who were mainly rearing commercial layers and broilers. Some were outgrowers for @BiyinzikaUg . The problem at the time was poor quality feeds, and farmers were experiencing losses. Productivity was low.

The Minister for ICT & National Guidance, Hon Justine Lumumba Kasule, has revealed that cabinet has approved the Food and Agriculture Regulatory Authority Bill, 2026, which is set to improve human, plant and animal health leading to consumer safety and confidence across the country.

Minister Lumumba on Tuesday revealed that the regulatory responsibility on the Bill has been shared between the National Drug Authority and UNBS, which will provide for the regulation of veterinary medicines, Agricultural chemicals, food, and feeds in Uganda.

“It will ensure the food and feeds produced and imported as well as plants and environment are safe (food, feeds and environmental security; Agricultural and veterinary inputs (medicines, agriculture chemicals) on the markets are of the right quality, safe and serve the intended purposes” she said.

Lumumba further noted that the law will also ensure that Uganda’s agricultural and food exports meet local, regional and international market standards and requirements.

“The expected outcome of the Bill include increased market access and competitiveness of Uganda’s agricultural exports to regional and global markets, increased incomes and profits for food value chain actors and Government resulting from improved quality and expanded market for the Uganda’s food” she said.

Lumumba further noted that the Bill will ensure enhanced consumer protection against counterfeits and strengthened food systems and contribution to global health.

It aims to regulate and guide various stakeholders involved in the food supply chain, including producers, manufacturers, processors, distributors, and retailers, as well as competent authorities and the general public. Its scope encompasses the entire food production and distribution process, from processing and storage to importation, exportation, and advertisement, with the overarching goal of ensuring the production and sale of safe and quality food for both human and animal consumption.@Ugveterinarians

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is the body supposed to shut down media houses, not the UPDF.

​The fact that @UCC_Official may not even know what to charge @NationMediaGrp with is going to be funny.

​The correct procedure should be for the UCC to summon NMG, state the offense committed, and then proceed to close them down. Because this wasn't done, they now have to scramble to figure out which broadcasting laws were breached just to justify the closure.

​On any normal day, the UCC would have issued a statement by now.

POLITICS: Inside Otafiire-Muhoozi Rivalry.

Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s latest threat to have veteran politician Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire arrested has revived one of the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) longest-running and most symbolic internal rivalries.

The latest public spat, triggered by Otafiire’s criticism of alleged extrajudicial killings within the Uganda Police Force’s Crime Intelligence Directorate, is about far more than security agencies.

For political observers, it is the latest manifestation of a deeper contest between the NRM’s historical generation and a newer centre of power increasingly represented by Muhoozi.

In a post on X this Friday morning, Muhoozi warned that Otafiire was “dangerously close to being arrested” after the veteran politician accused some police officers of carrying out extrajudicial killings.

A cabinet Minister who claimed he is a leopard and condemned the Great officers of Crime Intelligence of Uganda Police, has provoked lions enough and is dangerously close to being arrested,” Muhoozi wrote.

The comments were widely interpreted as a response to Otafiire’s recent appeal to newly appointed Internal Affairs Minister Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu.

Hon. Professor Kamuntu, I forgot to tell you, please don’t tolerate any form of extrajudicial killings especially by some few rogue officers in the Crime Intelligence Directorate,” Otafiire posted on X.

For many within the ruling establishment, however, the exchange was merely the latest chapter in an uneasy relationship that has endured for years.

Otafiire, now Minister of Water and Environment, is among the most influential surviving figures of Uganda’s liberation struggle.
A founding member of FRONASA, the guerrilla movement led by President Museveni, Otafiire fought in the bush war and has remained a central figure within the NRM since the movement captured power in 1986.

Over the years, he has served in several senior cabinet positions, including Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Minister of Local Government and Minister of East African Community Affairs.

A seasoned intelligence operative and veteran of the liberation struggle, Otafiire commands significant influence within both the ruling party and sections of the security establishment.

His reputation for bluntness and ideological purism has made him one of the NRM’s most respected, and sometimes feared, historicals.

Muhoozi, on the other hand, represents a newer generation of power within the movement.
As Chief of Defence Forces and the President’s son, Muhoozi has, over the past decade, steadily built a formidable political and military profile, attracting a loyal following through the defunct MK Movement (now PLU) and his extensive social media presence.

The fault line between the two men became particularly visible during the heights of Muhoozi project debate.

About 40,000 guests are expected at Kololo Independence Grounds, including 35 heads of state, 30 diplomats, and delegates from liberation movements such as African National Congress, Chama Cha Mapinduzi, ZANU–PF, FRELIMO, and Rwandan Patriotic Front.

Pravin is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Bangladesh Agricultural University, now pursuing his doctorate in nutritional sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His research focuses on more sustainable poultry production.

He was my most worthy opponent in the 1990 Makerere Guild race. The parity of esteem that defined our relationship blossomed into a personal friendship and comradeship which enabled us to close ranks in the fight against corruption as MPs. Talk about a sense of wit, here is one who had one with a double sting. When he was being queried about alleged torture in military detention centers using snakes and scorpions, Noble replied: “I don’t have a budget for snakes and scorpions!” As I reflect on the difficulty of replacing such a leaders and the deep loss we felt after his death, I borrow from Shakespeare and ask: “"Whence cometh such another?”
