Today, I passed out 11,947 UPDF recruits, including 1,002 from the Central African Republic (CAR), at Kaweweta. I congratulated them and reminded them that discipline, integrity, good health and rigorous training are the foundation of a capable army. Sitaane, 3 months ago, on the 21st of March, 2026, launched an attack on the life of Maama. However, sitaane miscalculated. The 21st of March is a good day for the Resistance. That is when we defeated the counter-attack of Idi Amin at Rugaando (12 miles from Mbarara) in 1979. God, using good doctors, saved Maama’s life and she is now recovering well.

Maama has done great things in the family, especially caring for the children during the 2nd phase of the Resistance between 1981 to 1986 when she was alone in exile and I was in the bush. She has been a great philanthropist with UWESO and she has contributed to the NRM politics in Ntungamo on top of her religious work.

I pray to God to get us to 100 years respectively so that we, among the other good things, see the birth of the East African Federation which is the Insurance of Africa against any future domination or marginalization.

While we stand by the cardinal principle of sovereignty of nations of Africa and, indeed, the world, I join members to condemn the use of war for every small matter and call for dialogue to calm the environment.

The joint communique captures the position of the meeting in its entirety. I thank Their Excellencies for convening at short notice in Entebbe and look forward to further engagements in the NAM and G77+China fora on matters of global wellness.

Imat Cecilia Ogwal, you have left us during a time when we needed you the most. This loss is deeply felt, not only by Uganda, but by the entire world, especially the parliamentary fraternity. Your death is truly heartbreaking.

We Joined Papa Lamech Ogwal , the family and friends at home in Bugolobi to celebrate the life of Atat! Atat Cecilia Ogwal was an MP for the whole country , always projecting a national outlook. She was also a prayer warrior , a consensus builder, an encyclopedia , a Counsellor for young MPs, and always offered a way out for the House in heated moments. Her death is such a big blow to us as an institution.

Maama Janet and I hosted the Year-End National Thanksgiving prayers at State House, Entebbe yesterday. It's pleasing to see religious leaders embracing the teachings of Jesus Christ, spreading the message of unity and hard work (wealth creation). This aligns with the NRM's longstanding ideology. Everyone should be encouraged to be a wealth creator.

However, I urge religious leaders to reconsider organizing fundraising events that inadvertently fuel corruption. These events often place a burden on young politicians, as their constituents are usually financially strained and unable to contribute. This leads to pressure on these young individuals to borrow and engage in corrupt practices. Let's put an end to this cycle!
