@dilanesper I mean, that's kind of expected though. If gay people make up ~5% of the population and bi people another ~5%, the partner pool for bi people is about 95% people of the other gender. And despite the stereotypes, most bi folks are monogamous.

@agraybee Technically it wasn't so much the Iranian Revolution that led to the closer cooperation, it was more about Saddam's Iraq and the oil crisis leading the US to align with (and sell weapons to) Saudi/UAE/Quwait, and using Israel as a counterbalance. But the timing is similar.

And it was delivered in the middle of the 2nd Intifada, one day after a suicide bombing killed 30 Israelis - illustrating why it is a bright red line.

@Noahpinion @rando_scrolling I think one of the biggest factors in Israel becoming a state was the Johnson-Reed Act of 1924 and FDR's strict enforcement of it during the 1930s.

@trenner_rebecca @TaliGoldsheft Matti Friedman reported that the mother is not trying to hide the child's condition and tells the truth to anyone who will listen. They are innocents in this and I don't think staged anything.

The issue is the intentionally bad framing by bad actors and media rush to co-sign.

@dilanesper I think her being VP was part of it. The other part was that the party was (entirely correctly) terrified of the vitriol of a one-month mini-primary and needed a candidate everyone could quickly align on, and her being VP was the best coordination mechanism available.

@airkatakana The fact that the vast majority of those people either work at American companies or study at American/Canadian universities (and will then likely work at American companies) is our number one superpower and yet we seem determined to give it up for no reason
