Evening @grantshapps , whilst you're next stuck on a @GNRailUK train, why not use the time profitably by showing your support to democracy and signing the petition for a #PeoplesVote https://t.co/TeaXtAmAJs
I have signed the Peopleโs Vote Petition to demand a vote on the Brexit deal.
We, the people, have the democratic right to determine our own future: https://t.co/ZBkye6DHez #PeoplesVote#PeoplesVoteMarch

@EdwardBurdon Anyway I trust you'll sign the petition for a #PeoplesVote as I think we both agree that vote would give the best most accurate assessment of the true opinion of the country today (or whenever its held).
@EdwardBurdon Because there was no precedent for such a referendum in 2016, so no past data to learn from. Since then the results have been analysed to death and split in every way possible - all of which informs and improves how polling is done when a similar referendum is performed.
@EdwardBurdon What repeated polls using consistent methodology have shown is a consistent slow but steady movement from leave to remain - this evidence is pretty strong.
@EdwardBurdon I agree the referendum result in June 2016 was an accurate measurement of a ref. result in 2016. But to claim, without evidence, that this would not have changed in 2 turbulent years is naรฏve.

Could journalists interviewing Brexiters please start insisting that they explain how things are going to be *better*, and not let them just claim that we will survive and/or avoid catastrophe.
