🚛📢 Laikipia Roadshow Underway
The Laikipia County Commissioner flagged off our ongoing roadshow in Nanyuki. 🚩
Since Monday, we have been empowering communities with Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ADA) prevention messages, counseling & treatment referrals, and awareness of our toll-free helpline 1192. 📞
Prevention on the move. Help at the end of the line. 🧡
🧠💪 Learning. Collaborating. Recovering.
We hosted @reachout_ke a leading Community-Based Organization (CBO) in substance use prevention & rehabilitation – for a learning mission.
Led by Director @twayeebahmed they were briefed on NACADA’s twin pillars of supply + demand reduction, our mandate, legal tenets, and recovery programs.
🤝 Together, we strengthen Kenya’s response to substance use dependence.
🚀 From Compliance to Real Impact – NACADA is shifting the paradigm!
At the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities & Agencies (RAAs) Conference 2026 in Kitui County, our CEO, @omerikwa, delivered a powerful presentation titled “From Compliance to Impact.”
🎯 His key message?
Moving beyond box-ticking regulations to measuring real-world outcomes of our programmes. How do we know if policies are truly saving lives? That’s the new benchmark.
💡 Great regulation isn’t just about rules – it’s about results.

👇 What’s your take on impact-driven regulation? Let’s discuss.
NACADA Chief Executive Officer Anthony Omerikwa has said that the Authority’s high-level sensitisation training for principal magistrates and senior judicial officers is aimed at strengthening judicial understanding of addiction and promoting a shift from purely punitive justice to rehabilitative approaches. #starkenyanews
Even in darkness, we glow.
In this image of Earth taken by the Artemis II crew, we can see the electric lights of human activity. In the lower right, sunlight illuminates the limb of the planet.
Jesus, ❤️✝️🙏🏾
I grieve that the torture You endured on the cross to save humanity. You didn’t want us enslaved to the lies of fear, anxiety, or sin, so You sacrificed Yourself so that Truth could win. I can experience new life. Thank You! #GoodFriday#easter#thecross

🇰🇪 FACT: 42.5% of Kenyans have never used alcohol or drugs.
That’s not luck. That's legacy. That's faith. That's family.
This morning, our Board Chair Bishop Dr. @Mairori officially opened the National Substance Use Prevention Week Summit at the Kenya School of Government.
Theme: Empowered Communities, Brighter Futures.
But here's the wake-up call:
26.6% of university students are already using substances.
That’s not a statistic. That’s a generation at risk.
Bishop Mairori didn't hold back:
“Prevention is not an optional line item. It is our most strategic investment in Kenya’s tomorrow.”
He celebrated those in recovery: “You are our living proof that change is possible. Your story is a beacon.”
And he called on all of us—parents, teachers, faith leaders, policymakers—to move from concern to coordinated action.
The summit is now on.
The conversation is louder.
The commitment is clear.
Let’s protect our future. Together.
