MAY MERCY SPEAK FOR YOU!
2Sa 9:2 (MSG) It happened that a servant from Saul's household named Ziba was there. They called him into David's presence. The king asked him, "Are you Ziba?" "Yes sir," he replied.
I believe that the only reason why Ziba was there that day was so that Mephibosheth’s name would be mentioned in the right ears.
Please, pray with me…
1. Lord, let MERCY begin to move things, position people, and shape events on my behalf.
2. Father, by your MERCY, position someone to speak on behalf of my family and lineage, that we may be remembered for good!
3. By your MERCY, O Lord, let my name be mentioned in the right rooms, in the right places, and in the right ears.
4. In the rooms where decisions that will affect my destiny are being made, Father, let MERCY speak for me!
5. In places where I know nobody, where I have no spokesperson, and where my interests are not represented, let MERCY speak up for me.
All this we receive by FAITH in Jesus’ holy name.
Amen!

SHOULD A CHRISTIAN WATCH BIG BROTHER NAIJA (#BBNAIJA)?
#AskPastorYinka | Episode 119
As I have often said, the will of God concerning any matter can be easily deduced from the Holy Scriptures, as long as you are truly searching for the truth and not looking for a way to justify what you have already decided to do.
Obviously, there was no Big Brother Naija in Bible times, so it is not "written", verse and chapter, that watching it is sinful. But any true seeker of the will of God will find His stand on this (and matters like it) emblazoned on the pages of Scripture, once you know how to look.
Let me caveat this from the onset: I AM SPEAKING ONLY TO BELIEVERS who accept the Bible as the final authority over their lives. Okay? So let no "free-thinker" take unnecessary umbrage at a message a Christian pastor is directing to fellow Christians.
You couldn't have been in Nigeria over the last few weeks without having something about BBNaija thrust into your space or consciousness. It tops X (Twitter) trends daily. Social media is awash with it. So what exactly is on offer?
BBNaija is a programme designed to "entertain" its audience through vicarious sexual thrills and satisfy voyeuristic tendencies, a casual approach to nudity, tawdry displays of sensuality, and manufactured romantic and sexual encounters. It sensationalises immorality and validates depravity. It normalises appalling levels of debauchery, lewdness and lasciviousness by encouraging participants to "create content" through the most sordid displays of lechery they can conjure.
Not only is it morally offensive, but it also creates NO VALUE whatsoever to society. Rather, by turning some of the most morally bankrupt members of society into overnight "celebrities," it "proves" the lie that you can "blow" without adding value to humanity. The show simply has no single redeeming feature. It neither elevates the mind nor strengthens the spirit; it erodes good spiritual and moral sense while further debasing the soul.
Now let us go beyond the general observation and let the Word itself adjudicate this matter, point by point.
FIRST, THE PRINCIPLE OF BEHOLDING: YOU BECOME WHAT YOU BEHOLD
Scripture teaches that transformation happens by beholding, not merely by believing. Paul writes:
2 Cor 3:18 (KJV) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Cor 3:18 (AMP) And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to another...
The principle here is not decorative; it is causal. What you fix your gaze on, you are gradually conformed to. This is precisely why the enemy of your soul is not interested in you sinning outright as much as he is interested in what you BEHOLD, because beholding is the doorway to becoming. If sustained beholding of God's glory transforms a believer into Christlikeness, then by the same spiritual law, sustained beholding of orchestrated immorality will transform the beholder into its likeness, degree by degree, week by week, season by season.
Do not forget: what you allow through the gateways of your mind (your eyes and ears) is what will eventually rule your life.
SECOND, THE LAW OF FIRST MENTION: SHAME AND THE NAKEDNESS GOD COVERS
The Law of First Mention teaches that the first time a concept appears in Scripture, God establishes the foundational pattern for how that concept is to be understood throughout the rest of the Bible. So let us ask: where does Scripture first deal with nakedness put on display?
Genesis 3:7 (KJV) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Genesis 3:10 (NLT) He replied, "I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked."
Genesis 3:21 (KJV) Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Notice the pattern established at the very first mention: nakedness before God and man, once sin entered, became a source of shame, not celebration. And God's own response was not to applaud the display, nor to leave the couple exposed for spectacle, but to COVER them, at the cost of blood (an animal had to die to produce those coats of skin).
This is the divine pattern set at first mention: God covers what sin has exposed. Any culture, platform, or programme that does the opposite, that UNCOVERS what God covers, that turns exposure into entertainment and applauds what Eden's story treats as a crisis needing divine intervention, is working against a pattern God established in the third chapter of the Bible. BBNaija's casual nudity and manufactured intimacy do not merely offend a modern sensibility; they invert a principle as old as the Fall itself.
THIRD, THE SOWING PRINCIPLE: YOU REAP WHAT YOUR EYES SOW
Gal 6:8 (AMP) For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Gal 6:8 (MSG) Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, they will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds.
Watching is a form of sowing. Every hour spent feeding your spirit-man on manufactured lechery is a seed planted into the flesh, and Galatians is unambiguous about the harvest such seed produces: decay, ruin, destruction. You do not get to sow to the flesh for entertainment and expect a spiritual harvest for edification. The field does not know your intention; it only knows the seed.
That is why the Bible gives us this TV Guide:
Php 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Php 4:8 (MSG) ...you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.
Php 4:8 (GNB) ...fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable.
Does BBNaija meet the criteria above? Please.
God's standard on such "entertainment" is clear: a believer should NOT watch it, nor participate in the nonsensical celebration of degeneracy it represents. The Word is always our surest guide.
I have also found the following words, penned centuries ago by Susanna Wesley (mother of John and Charles Wesley), a profound rule of thumb for judging such matters:
"Take this rule: whatever weakens your reason, impairs the tenderness of your conscience, obscures your sense of God, or takes off your relish of spiritual things, in short, whatever increases the strength and authority of your body over your mind, that thing is sin to you, however innocent it may be in itself."
That settles it, as far as I am concerned.
BUT LET US GO ONE STEP FURTHER
Instead of stopping at "is it a sin or not," a more mature question is this: what kind of fruit will this produce in my life? Will ingesting this content help me know God better and become a better Christian, a better human being?
1 John 2:12,14 teaches us that babes in Christ, the spiritually immature, are the ones preoccupied with the boundary question of sin: as long as something is not explicitly "written" as sin, they assume they are free to indulge. But the mature, those growing in the knowledge of Christ, are preoccupied instead with "knowing Him who is from the beginning."
Php 3:10 (KJV) That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
Irrespective of where you currently stand in your walk, God's expectation is that you aspire toward this level of maturity, where the governing question is no longer "will this condemn me?" but "will this conform me to Christ?"
Rom 13:13-14 (TPT) We must live honorably, surrounded by the light of this new day, not in the darkness of drunkenness and debauchery, not in promiscuity and sensuality, not being argumentative or jealous of others. Instead fully immerse yourselves into the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, and don't waste even a moment's thought on your former identity to awaken its selfish desires.
Rom 12:2 (MSG) Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
We are not of this world, and we are not called to conform to its culture or its practices. What you behold, you become. What God covers, do not go looking to uncover for sport. And what you sow with your eyes today, you will surely reap in your spirit tomorrow.

Blamelessness is compulsory in leading the church.
Nothing breeds rebellion and disorderliness like a leader dishing out instructions and doctrine without a lifestyle that silences his critics.
The attacks on Cardinal John Onaiyekan is proof that Christians are persecuted in Nigeria. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the culprit. He has declared war against Catholic Bishops.
2Sa 9:1 Now David said, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"
Please pray...
1. Lord, by Your MERCY, remember me for good. Let heaven remember me and let men remember me for good.
2. By Your MERCY, let the book of remembrance be opened concerning me.
3. Everyone in whose heart You have placed it to help or show me benevolence, Father, bring me to their remembrance.
4. For every good seed my parents or forebears have sown, everyone they helped, every act of charity or benevolence, every act of service to God and humanity, that they did not reap the harvest, Father, let MERCY bring the harvest my way.
5. Every blessing that my life is due for, that is still hanging in the air, Lord, let MERCY deliver it into my hands.
All this we receive by FAITH in the holy name of Jesus Christ.
Amen!

Legalism: Repent to earn GOD's acceptance.
Christianity: Repent and believe the gospel; repentance continues throughout the Christian life.
Hypergrace: Repentance is unnecessary after conversion.
Do you now see the Problem?
SONS OR PERSONALITY CULTS?
One of the greatest burdens upon the heart of GOD in this generation is not the absence of fathers; it is the abundance of counterfeit sons. We have produced a generation that knows how to orbit around men but has never learned to bow before GOD.
Many know the vocabulary of sonship but remain strangers to the Cross. They celebrate fathers with a zeal they have never reserved for CHRIST.
They defend ministries more passionately than they defend the Truth. They quote fathers more than they search the Scriptures.
This is not sonship. This is idolatry.
Hear me carefully.
The purpose of spiritual fatherhood is not to gather worshippers around a man. The purpose of spiritual fatherhood is to raise worshippers unto GOD.
Every father who truly carries Heaven's burden is laboring to disappear into CHRIST. Like John the Baptist, his cry is, "HE must increase, but I must decrease."
The day a son becomes more conscious of a man than of GOD, corruption has entered the relationship.
The day access to a father excites you more than access to the GOD, your altar has shifted.
The day your greatest fear is disappointing a man rather than grieving the HOLY SPIRIT, your worship has been misplaced. That is not honor. That is misplaced devotion.
True sons are first slain by GOD before they are sent to fathers.
They have met the Cross before they met the man. They have surrendered to CHRIST before they submitted to authority, because no man has the right to occupy the throne that belongs to the SON OF GOD.
A true son cannot be manipulated by charisma. He cannot be intoxicated by proximity. He cannot be bribed with recognition. He cannot be seduced by access. His heart has already been captured by CHRIST.
He does not follow a father because of his personality. He follows because he has discerned grace. And even that grace is judged by the infallible authority of Scripture.
A son is dangerous to the kingdom of darkness because he is impossible to corrupt. Correction does not make him bitter. Delay does not make him ambitious. Obscurity does not make him restless.
He has died to the craving for significance. He seeks only that CHRIST be formed in him. A true son never competes for position. He trembles more at losing purity than at losing prominence.
Sons carry burdens. Hirelings carry opinions.
And hear this:
If your loyalty to a father can make you compromise the Word of GOD, you are not loyal. You are enslaved.
If your honor for a vessel prevents you from obeying CHRIST, you are not honoring. You are worshipping the flesh.
If you cannot test every voice by Scripture because of who spoke it, you have already abandoned the Berean spirit.
True fathers are not raising men who need them forever. They are raising men who know GOD for themselves.
If you must know, the greatest success of a father is not the size of his following. It is the measure of CHRIST formed within his sons.
May GOD deliver the Church from celebrity discipleship. May HE destroy every altar of personality worship. May HE raise sons who cannot be bought.
May HE raise sons whose eyes are too full of CHRIST to idolize men. For every true father is only a signpost. The destination has always been CHRIST.
The voice has never been the Bridegroom. It has always been the friend of the Bridegroom. And when the Bridegroom appears...
Every true son knows where to look.

You can love a monster
You can have butterflies for someone that is a “winch”
Your palms can get sweaty for a potential “wife beater”
You can have crazy chemistry for a narcissist
Never trust just your emotions or feelings
Trust God!
At 18: “I don’t do small boys.”
At 23: “I can’t date my age mate.”
At 26: “I like older men.”
At 30: “why are you men only interested in younger girls, date your mates instead.”
Any presidential candidate that is too big to appear for an interview on television will never serve Nigerians well.
Such persons will be too big for the people!
Especially those that will never debate!
No matter how busy your life may be, making time to commune with God (in prayer and in the Word) first thing every morning should be your number one priority, because, without the rain of heaven, all human efforts will be in vain.

How can you claim to be my friend and always look for an excuse to avoid coming to my house? Are you not a fake friend like that?
So, how can you be a Christian and always look for an excuse to avoid going to church?
Bro, Sis, go to church!
Welcome to August!
This month, you will enjoy:
* The response of heaven -- answered prayers, timely help, undeserved blessings, and uncommon testimonies.
* An overflow of the rain of heaven upon your land.
* Grain (bread, provision), new wine (outbursts of joy and celebration), and oil (a fresh release of the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the multitudinous grace of God) will be released to you in abundance.
* The Lord will sow you for Himself in the land -- He will establish you in righteousness -- spiritually, financially, maritally, career-wise, there shall be establishment and stability.
* There shall be a complete restoration of everything you may have lost, abused or mismanaged, or that the enemy might have stolen from you -- time will be redeemed, and seasons will be restored.
* An unusual dimension of MERCY is coming upon your life -- you will enjoy THE RAIN OF MERCY -- Mercy will begin to define you for the rest of your life.
* You will know the Fatherhood of God, and you will testify that Jehovah indeed is my God!
