Today during a medical camp organized b @acholiwomen at Abwoch HC III in #Omoro district, I encountered a 74Y/M who had a Blood pressure of 186/95mmhg, with a pulse rate of 93bpm, reduced vision with a bilateral pterygium. When I asked him about his medical history, he told me that he last went to a health facility 8 years ago, with reasons of feeling well not until when his vision continued to reduce irrespective of ceasing to drink alcohol.

He said it was his first time learning about hypertension!

In our communities, we often have many individuals in his category, however we can change the narrative through advocating and supporting more frequent medical outreaches in our local communities, training VHTs to disseminate the information to the community.
