Unmarried millennials are suddenly naked, the man who'd been sheltering every man, every inquisition, every side eye, every, where's the wife?, when are you getting married? the curtain,the cover men conveniently pulled over their heads, he probably wasn't even aware but King Oyo was the refuge the rest of us unmarried, child free men would conviniently place forward, if a man that powerful, with all resources & maidens available to him was still unsullied, who were we mere wanainchi?
His life used by us, unmarried &child free, his death about to be used as a counter attack by our parents, the demand for offspring, grandkids is going to get incessant.
A king, whose life and death came with purpose, not just for his people but the whole nation, may he rest in peace.

The conclusion is simple: It takes an insane amount of energy to make the exact same money in a developing economy.

This family you criticise so unfairly found Uganda's economy trailing Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. Today, we are proudly number one in East Africa.

We found a country where political kidnaps and torture were commonplace at the Nile Mansion basement. Today, such things are unheard of.

We inherited a state riddled with corruption and nepotism. Now every Ugandan knows that jobs and contracts are awarded purely on merit, without knowing anyone.

We found a broken public service. Today, who doesn't enjoy world-class healthcare, comprehensive medical insurance and efficient service in government hospitals?

We found affordable government schools across the country, forcing parents to choose from quality education almost everywhere. We solved that problem by concentrating excellence in expensive private schools. Now everyone knows exactly where to look - and exactly how much it will cost.

We inherited a country where politicians fled into exile for fear of persecution. Today, name just ten government critics who have sought refuge abroad.

We found Ugandans leaving the country in search of political asylum and economic opportunities. Today, our diplomacy has opened lucrative markets in the Arab world for our farmers, rather than exporting labour.

Did we inherit an independent judiciary? Look at what we have today. Doesn't everyone feel that justice is delivered equally, regardless of political influence, wealth or status?

And the infrastructure? We inherited potholes and murram roads. Today, just look around you. The transformation speaks for itself.

Remember when Kenyans used to joke that Ugandan towns and roads were nothing but dirt-brown? Look at us now. Which roads are they talking about?

And don't even get me started on garbage. We left the days of overflowing rubbish heaps and filthy streets behind long ago. Our cities are now so clean they could pass for museum exhibits.
