Niemcy postąpili po wojnie fatalnie, ale nawet oni nie nazywają swoich ulic zbrodniarzami II Wojny Światowej. A Ukraina dokładnie tak robi. Już Poroszence lata temu powiedziałem, że z Banderą do Europy nie wejdą.

JUST IN: A school clerk on Long Island in Hempstead just got caught physically tearing up ballots and throwing them in a dumpster to help her favorite candidate win a school board election.

The candidate she was helping - Victor Pratt - won by just 81 votes, racking up 87% of absentee ballots while only getting 27% of in-person machine votes. New York State has now ordered a brand new election.

This is exactly why people don’t trust the mail-in and absentee ballot system - when someone with access to those ballots decides to play hero with an election, every legitimate vote gets stolen.

A woman hiking in Canada nearly became a grizzly’s next meal and the video circulating right now is genuinely one of the most intense wildlife encounters you will ever watch - her dog is with her, a massive grizzly is right there, and somehow she kept her head together long enough for both of them to walk away breathing.

That is not a small thing. Most people talk tough until nature is standing ten feet in front of them and every instinct in your body is screaming to run, and running is exactly the worst thing you can do.

Grizzlies are built to chase, they top out over 700 pounds and can cover ground faster than any human alive. The people who survive these moments are the ones who override pure fear with pure discipline and this woman did exactly that.

If you hike, camp, or spend any real time in the wilderness - bear spray is not optional, it is the difference between a story you tell and one somebody else tells about you.

Currency Boards.

Two countries pegged their currencies to the dollar. One built a fortress. The other built a fraud. The difference tells you everything about why a currency board works only when the people running it refuse to cheat.

Hong Kong set up its board in October 1983. The rule was brutally simple: 7.8 Hong Kong dollars per US dollar, and every note in circulation had to be backed by actual US dollars sitting in the Exchange Fund. No printing without reserves. No clever interventions. When money flowed out, the monetary base contracted and rates rose automatically. Painful? Sometimes. But the peg held through the 1997 Asian crisis, when speculators threw everything they had at it and walked away with nothing. It holds today, 41 years later. A board that actually behaves like a board does its job because nobody gets to override the arithmetic.

Argentina copied the form and skipped the substance. Domingo Cavallo's Convertibility Plan launched in April 1991, one peso to one dollar, and for a few years the inflation that had hit 3,000 percent in 1989 vanished. You could believe it was real money. Buenos Aires kept borrowing in dollars while spending in pesos it pretended were dollars, and the provinces issued their own quasi-currencies (Patacones, Lecops) the moment Cordoba ran short. A true currency board cannot do that. Argentina's could, because politicians treated the peg as a marketing slogan rather than a discipline.

So the reserves never fully covered the liabilities. The state ran deficits and prayed. When Brazil devalued the real in 1999 and Argentine exports priced themselves out of the market, the peso was stuck at parity with a dollar that kept climbing. The government froze bank accounts in December 2001 (the corralito), people rioted, five presidents passed through the Casa Rosada in two weeks, and the peg shattered in January 2002. Savings denominated in dollars got forcibly converted to pesos at gunpoint rates.

A currency board is a promise to obey rules you cannot bend. Hong Kong meant it. Argentina lied. Money does not forgive liars, and it does not accept excuses.
