@_Zeets "The banality of evil" as Hannah Arendt said. It's no mystery at all. Humans are by nature flawed, as we've shown over and over. Only Batman believes the crowd will make the right choice.

So you’re telling me that Leo played this entire World Cup knowing that his dad could pass away at any moment?
That explains even more why he was so emotional during the tournament.
And people really carried out a whole hate campaign on him while he was going through this…
Querido Leo,
No puedo imaginar el dolor por el que debes estar pasando. Te mando todo mi cariño y mis condolencias a ti y a toda tu familia en estos momentos tan difíciles.
Descanse en paz, Jorge. 🙏🏻
Strength to Messi and his family.
But I'm just so deeply moved. Can't even imagine what strength, love for his country, and extraordinary character it takes to play the best world cup of his life at 39 when his father was struggling for his life.
❤️🔙 Leo Messi: "My dad used to wake up at 4 in the morning and come home at 9 at night just to have dinner, practically every day. So we rarely saw each other, and whenever we did, he truly cherished his time with me, he never yelled at me or gave me a hard time.
"I enjoyed being with him so much because I missed him, and I couldn't wait for him to get home so I could hug him and be around him, because the truth is he spent all his time working."
Uber Eats and DoorDash hid tip buttons and set default tips below 10%. As a result, tips for delivery workers fell 79%.
In January, we made these corporations change their apps — and in the past six months, we've put $104 million back in delivery workers' pockets.
This is only the beginning.
Meet the hero! 16-year-old lifeguard Ryder (reportedly Ryder Williams)
This high school student and seasonal Santa Cruz State Parks lifeguard pulled off one of the most incredible rescues of the summer at Seabright Beach on July 25.
A 10-year-old boy was being hammered by massive waves. Ryder dove in, locked on with an unbreakable grip, and fought through wave after wave for nearly two minutes - never letting go - while telling bystanders who tried to help to save themselves. A second lifeguard joined him to get the boy safely to shore. The child was checked by paramedics and reunited with his family, stable.
His mom confirmed his first name on social media and said he’s just doing the job he loves. Instead of a GoFundMe, she pointed people toward supporting the Santa Cruz County Parks Junior Guards program that trained him.
Absolute legend at 16. Real first-responder energy. 💪🛟
Thank you for everything.
Dropping one of the best World Cup campaigns at the age of 39.
