I didn’t feel I had cancer. I had cancer. If I hadn’t fought incredibly hard for a follow up appointment in 2020 when it was cancelled due to pressure on the NHS, I might not have survived. This is the reality. The NHS is being overwhelmed & desperately needs more resources - now
@ProfGlantz@FDATobacco Not clever to pick and choose from their publication. RCTs better quality evidence than cohort studies..... "The pooled odds ratio for smoking cessation in RCTs was 1.78 (95% CI: 1.41-2.25)." Hdedman et al 2021
Great discussion here on the subject "Vaping Works" and how clever nations which welcome reduced risk products are seeing better results than countries run by anti-vaping cretins. https://t.co/kfuNrkf89Q
Step back and ask what @FDATobacco is actually doing today. Mainly trying to mico-manage which flavours can go into which vapes to somehow control who uses them and who doesn't. Think about that for a minute: it's surreal and ludicrous state meddling, and doomed to fail.
Reply to WHO by M. Dockrell @SwitchFinder, tobacco control lead at @PHE_uk:
“The best…is to stop 🚬 completely & evidence shows vaping is one of the most effective quit aids available, esp. for smokers who have tried to quit b4 & failed” https://t.co/v71oM5gQDL
The 1980s War on Drugs caused teen drug use to increase. Well, guess what...?
On a college campus, "restrictions imposed on cigarette and e-cigarette users were associated with reduced readiness to quit."

Precautionary principle: Don't vape! We don't know the long-term health effects!
FACT CHECK: True. So... It is plausible that the long-term effect is a longer and healthier life. Fewer lung infections. Lower risk of Parkinson's disease. Protection against dementia...
GPs up and down the country are desperate to start vaccinating their patients - yet cannot, because *even while* @BorisJohnson talks the talk about huge vaccine roll out, his government has failed to supply these practices with *any* doses. It’s sheer dishonesty & incompetence.
Not checking whether a test is fit for the purpose to which it is about to be put is madness and dangerous. Please @DHSCgovuk@MattHancock@GavinWilliamson@CMO_England look at these data and think again as to how you can best keep our students and staff safe.

This shows how absolutely critical it is that evaluation precedes implementation – these are the only evaluations done in student populations - all done after Government implementation.
Planning proper evaluations first is critical - more are needed.

What was the sensitivity and how many false positives were there from Mass Testing of University students?
Results from University of Birmingham and Universities in Scotland don’t make good reading.
SENSITIVITY 3% (not a typo)
42% of Innova positives were FALSE POSITIVES
