The Winnipeg Jets should play their entire slate of regular season home games outdoors at Princess Auto Stadium. It would be the biggest home ice advantage in the league. Imagine The Florida Panthers rolling into town mid January when it's -47 with the homeless native guys still stumbling down Portage and Main all doped up on dirty meth and rail whiskey. Imagine being in that 2 diamond Fairmont on the chin of 2 Lombard Place that has the worst window insulation in the entire league thinking about how not only the sun doesn't shine here but my fuck we gotta drive 25 minutes down the Pembina HWY to play a god dam hockey game outside. A young mother and her 2 children were killed in a head on collision near Foam Lake.

I don’t have all the details but it sounds like a man tried to pass a semi on a gravel road and collided head on with the young family coming the other way. The dust created by a semi on prairie gravel roads in the fall is like a thick fog. You just can’t see through it as to what is in front of you or what is coming.

It’s impossible.

I have known of 2 other accidents like this, one being a man I knew quite well who was killed in the same manner.

Prairie harvest is a time of patience and acceptance. Large equipment is moving slowly on our roads as they feed the world.

If you can’t see, don’t pass.

🚨 There was a robbery at Western Sales in #DavidsonSk!

Well... not really. But that's what someone thought when RCMP officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at the dealership just after midnight early Wednesday morning.

Here's what actually happened:

Around 9:00, Tuesday night, a customer's combine suffered a breakdown when a cleaning shoe failed. The parts weren't available in #BiggarSk at the time, so on-call Parts Specialist, Ross hit the road to Davidson for a late-night parts run to help keep the customer rolling the next day.

The Davidson team had locked up for the night when Ross arrived just before midnight, but arrangements had been made for him to access the parts and use a forklift to load them onto his trailer. A lone truck, a forklift moving equipment around late at night and a dark dealership yard must've looked suspicious to someone nearby because before long, RCMP cruisers were rolling down the highway with lights and sirens on! 🚓

The Mounties contacted the Davidson team, and when Tony arrived, security footage quickly confirmed there was no robbery in progress. Just a dedicated parts specialist on an after-hours mission.

Ross, who was blissfully unaware that he was potentially a wanted criminal, returned to Biggar with the parts the service tech required to get to work on the combine first thing the next morning, and happily went to bed.

The good news? The combine got the part it needed to get back in the field.

The bad news? Ross may need to start notifying local law enforcement when he goes on midnight parts runs.

@mathewjdp I was more concerned about the lack of intensity, and compete. It was a big game in April. That’s something that can’t be understated.

Didn’t get a couple bounces, 2 minor breakdowns ended up in the net. They can lose the game, but lose it playing with a purpose.
