People keep saying the backlash against AI is just like the backlash against the internet in the '90s. As someone who actually remembers that time... no the fuck it isn't. People were excited about what the internet could do. AI has a lot of people wondering whether it's about to replace their jobs, flood the world with slop, and make it harder to trust what's real.
