@BeeVee23@MrMatthewTodd@alsoknownastrev@brillcubes …because it sees cheap, reliable energy as part of the transition.
You can’t build a green industrial economy by making energy prohibitively expensive and then wondering why the manufacturing goes overseas.
@BeeVee23@MrMatthewTodd@alsoknownastrev@brillcubes But how exactly is the UK supposed to “build its own” without a competitive manufacturing base?
Manufacturing needs abundant, reliable and affordable energy. That’s one of the UK’s biggest problems.
China is still building coal power while expanding renewables…
@MrMatthewTodd@alsoknownastrev@brillcubes So, after the UK weakens what’s left of its industry, hamstrings its tech and development, and makes the country poorer, while the biggest polluters carry on, we can sit smugly knowing we’ve done our bit with our less-than-1% share of global emissions.
Einstein would be proud.
@talkRADIO @JuliaHB1@BenedictSpence How can we move to step 3 but 5 weeks ahead of step 4, it’s been pretty much decided we can’t progress?! Utter nonsense. It can only be about not letting go of the control.
@JuliaHB1 @talkRADIO The new variant has nothing to do with it. Data not dates. 5 weeks between steps to assess the impact. Minimal impact from step 3 = good data, no excuses.
@TheFreds ‘It comes as millions of people can now enjoy new freedoms’ f**k off! Not ‘new freedoms’, nothing is being given here, things have only been taken away!
@TheFreds Also absolute boll0cks. They’ll not stop moving down the age categories just because some people don’t want the vaccine. Same total number of people will have received it by the 21st June, only perhaps from a broader age range, which is surely better if it reduces transmission 🤷♂️
@talkRADIO @mrmarkdolan Realisation that mainstream media is so bias and misleading is devastating. You start to doubt everything you’ve ever been told. It’s like being a childhood fan of Jim’ll Fix It and finding out years later about the horrors behind the scenes... there’s a common denominator too 😬
@talkRADIO @iancollinsuk Step 3 will ‘wreak havoc’ on the NHS according to sage. When that doesn’t happen, it’ll be safe to assume the apocalypse won’t happen at step 4.
@SeanDen10104082@Sacha_Lord Quite. 5 weeks between steps was to assess the impact, instead it’ll be 5 weeks of scaremongering based on what might happen...probably in a galaxy far far away
@talkRADIO @BareReality I thought the point of 5 weeks between each step was to assess the impact. Looks like we’re in for 5 weeks of scaremongering based on questionable guesswork.
@JamesMelville Just need to keep moving down the age groups, it’ll give more coverage across the population. I.e. it’ll be better to have 50% of 40s, 30% of 30s and 20% of 20s, than 100% of 40s. Only when there’s jabs left over and people stop coming forward do they need to re-assess.
@talkRADIO @JuliaHB1 @SirGrahamBrady Today’s step will apparently ‘wreak havoc’ on the NHS. When it doesn’t (and remember, the 5 weeks between steps was there to assess the impact) it will prove that the modelling was ridiculously pessimistic, to put it politely.
