As you may know, Sally Rooney is one of the key names behind the demand for a boycott of all Israeli writers unless they openly denounce their country.

Weirdly that hasn’t stopped her selling her books in Waterstones which is owned by Elliott Advisors - controlled by American billionaire Paul Singer who is a MASSIVE funder of Israel.

I’m surprised (but not really surprised) she - or any of the other signatories - hasn’t already pulled her books from Waterstones. Or Barnes and Noble which is also owned by Elliott Advisors.

Her latest novel is up for Waterstones’ Book of the Year later this month. Presumably she will withdraw her book?

Because otherwise she will look like a bit of a hypocrite, won’t she?
